Chapter 252: To The Veiled Islands

The next morning, Rion sat beside Dora’s bed with her hand shielded between his.

He stared at her pale face with a lost look on his face and whispered, "Don’t worry, everything will be fine."

A faint smile gripped his lips as he looked at Zaelyane and Yuura and said, "You two go ahead."

They nodded silently and left the inn.

Rion followed them with his Zone as they walked towards the duke’s villa.

Once they reached the villa, they boarded a carriage prepared by the duke to take them to the coast, where the ship was.

The Neptuma Federation was like a horseshoe, with the empty part being the water body that connected them to the vast sea.

As the southern city was closer to the ground than others, they had to take a carriage there.

Duke Emerson had reluctantly given one of his ships to the pirates so they could assist Rion in his journey.

Seeing how easily the duke had changed his mind about the pirates, Rion couldn’t help but feel fearful of Honoured One, which was the main piece that allowed him to control everything with such ease... the skill wasn’t just a show, it also affected the perception others had of him.

Like how the owner of a jewelry shop had viewed him as someone who ruled over the gold, the duke viewed him as something beyond mortal.

That thought didn’t come out of nowhere; Rion’s sudden appearance in his hidden chamber had given birth to it, and Honoured One had simply intensified it even further.

Rion leaned back in his chair and focused on the ship standing at the coast.

All the pirates were wearing the uniforms of the Duke’s servants and were preparing the ship for the journey.

Duke Emerson was also there to keep an eye on them, as even now he couldn’t entirely trust them.

An hour later, Zaelyane and Yuura reached the coast and unboarded the carriage.

They looked around themselves, and Emerson called out to them.

Zaelyane tapped Yuura’s shoulder and pointed at the duke.

Yuura nodded, and both of them walked towards the duke.

Seeing that Rion wasn’t with them, Emerson frowned and asked, "Where is the price?"

Zaelyane looked at the grand ship and answered, "Do not worry, Duke Emerson. He will come before it’s time to leave."

Emerson nodded reluctantly before he turned towards the ship and introduced, "This is one of the best ships I have. With this, you will be able to reach the islands within just two days, and even the sea ether beasts wouldn’t dare to attack it."

Zaelyane displayed a smile as she bowed gracefully and said, "We are grateful for all the help you have provided us."

On the other hand, Yuura boarded the ship with the three huge bags and looked at the pirates as if he were looking at animals.

Seeing his face, the pirates felt their blood boil, but remembering what Rion had done to their captain, all they could do was lower their heads and do their job.

Francis stood by the helm and read the map to the veiled islands.

Beside him stood two of his most trusted companions, Alita and Barney.

Alita helped her captain with the map, and Barney commanded the other pirates.

"I shall take my leave," Zaelyane commented.

Emerson gave her a nod and said, "I wish you would return just as early... I don’t know how long the three dukes would play it fair."

Zaelyane turned her head towards him and responded with an amused smile, "You don’t have to worry about it."

Hearing her, a confused expression appeared on Emerson’s face; his lips parted to ask her, but she had already boarded the ship.

Just as Zaelyane boarded the ship, she walked into the rooms at its rear and began carving runes in its wall to create a perfect environment for Dora, whose body was already too weak to handle the journey they were about to make.

"Why don’t you teach that to me?" Yuura asked with his hands folded before his chest.

Zaelyane answered without looking at him, "Everyone cannot use runes, to need to have an alignment with the world itself, but to you, the world is not something of reverence..."

Yuura scoffed. "Obviously, how can there be anything else to revere within the presence of my liege?"

A heavy sigh escaped her, and she mumbled, "He is not here right now."

"You know you are wrong, don’t you?" Yuura grinned.

She shook her head, and a voice resounded in the heads of Zaelyane, Yuura, and Francis, <Is everything ready?>

Spooked by the sudden voice, Francis reeled back and looked around in his confusion before he stammered, "Y-Yea."

The wooden floor creaked as Rion appeared on the ship with Dora still asleep in his arms.

The pirates staggered back in fear, and Rudy gave Francis a nod before he walked to the prepared room.

He laid Dora in the bed and said, "Let us move."

Even though he hadn’t used his aura, his words reached everyone’s ears.

With a loud creak, the ship’s sails flapped open, the pirates pulled the anchor, and cut the rope.

The ship climbed the wind currents and began to move.

The pirates cheered loudly, and Rudy stopped their voices from reaching her by forming an aura dome around her.

Seeing the left half of his face turn purple, Yuura and Zaelyane fell silent, and Rion mumbled, "The elves might be able to help with this as well, right?"

"I don’t know..." Zaelyane whispered.

He nodded and sat beside Dora.

At the coast, Emerson watched his ship leave, and a rushed voice called out to him.

"My lord!"

Emerson turned to the voice, and his gaze fell on one of his four most loyal retainers.

"Why are you acting so disg—"

"The three dukes! They lost most of their ships!"

"What?" Confusion clouded his eyes, and he asked, "What do you mean?"

"Huff...huff... the guards reported that saberhead serpents attacked their ships at night."
