And more rewards flooded in as location after location fell behind them. Rion signed in at new locations every other day, and before long, they neared their destination.

The roads leading to the capital were full of carriages, carts, and pedestrians as everyone wanted to enter as quickly as possible.

The three carriages moved slowly, and Rion and Dora stared at the heavy crowd outside.

"How are there so many of them...?" Dora questioned tiredly.

Rion smiled at her and explained, "Unlike us, they don’t have the blood of gods, so it’s easier for them to have children..."

She blinked a few times. Tilting her head, she mumbled, "Isn’t that a good thing?"

He nodded. "It is a good thing, but power has its price... Can you trade your bloodline for not having to try for years to have a child?"

A thoughtful expression appeared on Dora’s pale face, and she answered in a low voice, "No... I don’t want to lose it because it makes me special..."

He smiled, wrapped his arms around her, and whispered in her ear, "Yes, your powers are a part of your self, you shouldn’t just trade them for something that sounds sweet..."

"Mhm..." she whispered, closed her eyes, and mumbled, "I want to eat something sweet..."

Rion closed his eyes, placed his face on her head, and mumbled, "We will eat a lot."

"Yeah..." she whispered and once again fell asleep.

A shaky breath escaped him as he moved his face away from her and looked forward.

At the edge of his vision were four green arrows that pointed at the sign in locations within the capital.

A deep sigh left his lips as he leaned back and activated his Zone.

At once, he found multiple superhumans within the capital, and he was sure that at least one nebula was present in there, but because his Zone couldn’t cover the whole capital, he would have to wait for that.

Trudging slowly, the carriages stopped at the gates, and the sun reached dusk.

Salis stepped out of Calvus’s carriage and walked towards the guards standing by the gate.

Seeing the lion etched on his armour, one of the guards mumbled, "Are you from Barleyhen?"

The other guard elbowed his companion and said, "What are you doing? They are supposed to tell us, you dimmit! Anyway, why would a knight of Barleyhen come to the capital? The last time they came was fifteen years ago—"

"Yes. I am Salis Kilburs, the personal guard of Young master Calvus, the heir to Barley County."

Both of the knights fell silent, and the one who had guessed Salis’s affiliation asked, "So... Sir Salis, why have you come to the capital?"

Salis stepped to the side, pointed at the three carriages, and said, "We have been traveling for the past month to reach the capital for the Academy trials."

"Oh..." the two guards nodded towards one another and said, "Well, it’s rare to have a guest from Barleyhen, so we will allow your carriages to go in without being stopped for the checks, but for that... we would require the affiliation document of you and young master Barley."

Salis smiled, pulled out the documents from his leather waist bag, and said, "Thank you for your generosity."

The guards smiled and the one who had insulted the other said, "Do not worry about it... We just do not want you to have any more troubles..."

The other guard nodded, checked both of the documents, and handed them back to Salis with a silver plate that had the sigil of the royal family and the name Count Barely carved into it.

Seeing that plate, Salis raised an eyebrow and thought, ’Did Master notify them about our journey?’

He gave a nod to the guards and walked back into his carriage.

The carriage moved past the gates, and the vast expanse of the capital city entered everyone’s vision.

Large shops, bustling stalls filled the entrance, and in the far distance stood buildings no less grand than the other.

Ribbons and colorful flags were tied all across the street, and flower petals covered the ground like a carpet.

Bright colorful lanterns hung under the street lampposts, and people dressed in white, red, and green attire moved past one another.
