Tribal Sign-In: Immortal At The Start-Chapter 227: Sparring with Kiron
Salis turned towards the knights and said, "Make your choice."
The knights looked at one another, but none of them stepped forward.
Kiron, who was standing a few steps away from Salis, took a step and announced, "I will be more than happy to show you the reality of this world."
Seeing him agree with the fight instead of apologizing for his behavior, Salis displayed a disappointed look and stated, "Fight it is then."
A wide grin appeared on Kiron’s face, and he stared at Rion while letting out an eerie chuckle.
’He is really mad, huh... well, not like it matters,’ Rion thought.
"As everything seems to be fine, we are returning," Salis announced, turned towards the main gate, and began to walk forward.
The knights and Rion followed behind him, and after ten minutes, they reached the barracks.
There, Rion saw various knights that weren’t part of the silver lion knights, and all of those knights were looking at them with a respectful gaze.
"Unlike the other counts, lord Barley does not rule a city; the reason behind it is the cursed mountains. No sane person wants to live near one of the five most dangerous locations, after all," said a young silver lion knight.
Rion turned his head towards him, narrowed his eyes, and asked, "Why are you telling this to me?"
The knight chuckled. Placing a hand on his chest, he said, "I am Mathew. I have been a knight for two years, and just a month ago, I fulfilled one of my many dreams by joining the Silver Lions.
"Do you want to know why I did that?"
Rion looked away from him and mumbled, "Why?"
Mathew smiled faintly and responded, "Throughout the year, either beasts attack our town, and we are the ones who defend everyone from them... because of that, everyone respects and praises us. However, too much praise has made a few of us blind to mistakes."
’So he is not trying to stop me... quite the opposite, he wants me to defeat them.’ That was the thing Rion had expected to hear from one of the silver lions.
He turned his head towards Mathew, stared him dead in the eyes, and said, "I don’t understand what you’re trying to say."
After saying that, Rion quickened his steps and made his way to the sparring grounds.
Mathew watched him and mumbled, "How does he know the way to the grounds...?"
"He must be following behind another knight," another knight answered from behind.
"Must be..." Mathew nodded and clenched his fist. "Please be the one to wake them up."
Rion stepped into the sparring grounds.
At the centre was Salis, who was now wearing an attire similar to that of a civilian.
The same was true for Kiron, who was standing at the other side of the sparring ground and was swinging a wooden sword in his hand.
Salis raised his arms and announced, "The fight ends the instant one of you yields or cannot continue. Understood?"
"Yes!" Kiron shouted with a wide grin while lowering himself like a tiger.
Salis looked at Rion and asked, "Are you going to fight without a weapon?"
Rion nodded and said, "Yes."
Kiron rolled his eyes and mumbled under his breath, "Show off."
The other knights who weren’t silver lions booed and cursed at Rion for his useless bravado.
Salis lowered his arms and roared, "Start!"
Dust rose under Kiron’s feet as he zipped towards Rion and swung at him in a wide arc.
The knights gasped at his speed, and Rion evaluated him.
’He is fast enough to keep up with a superhuman that is not using aura to enhance speed,’ Rion noted in his head.
Jumping back, he dodged the sword and threw a kick aimed a kick at his torso.
Kiron leaned backwards, Rion’s kick completely missed him, and he muttered with a grin, "Is that all you can do?"
He swung at his side, Rion ducked down, and threw a punch towards his chin.
Kiron slid to the side, bent down, and threw a kick to his head.
Rion stepped in and grabbed his leg.
"Huh?"
He lifted him by the leg, turned on his feet, and threw him to the other side.
Kiron spun mid-air, landed on his feet, and muttered, "Not bad for a savage adventurer..."
Looking around, he saw that all of the knights had gone silent and were looking at Rion with a surprised expression.
Rion, on the other hand, was completely calm.
Seeing that, Kiron’s expression turned bitter.
He spat onto the ground and muttered, "Who are you looking at?"
"At a knight who uses his tongue more than his sword...?" Rion answered with a tilted head.
A few of the knights burst into laughter. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"Kuhk!" Embarrassment spread across Kiron’s face. He ground his teeth in fury and once again dashed towards Rion.
Unlike before, he didn’t swing widely; instead, he thrusted his sword at the centre of Rion’s chest.
Rion stepped to the side and swung a punch to his face.
Kiron instantly shifted his thrust into a swing and ducked a little to dodge Rion’s punch.
Rion lifted his other hand, looked at the sword, and his eyes turned red for three nanoseconds.
He instantly scanned the sword and raised his left hand towards it.
"What are you doing?!"
"Is he stupid?"
"Your hand will break, you dumbass!" The knights shouted in worry.
The sword struck Rion’s hand; he grabbed it, and at the same time, his fist struck the back of Kiron’s head with a strength equal to that of a squad member. "Ugh!!"
Kiron fell to his knees, and Rion tightened his left hand with the strength of a squad member.
The wooden sword cried under his grip, and a moment later, it fell apart into two parts.
The two parts of the sword fell to the ground, and the knights stared at it with wide eyes.
Meanwhile, Kiron was finding it hard to keep his vision stable, and before he could do it, Rion’s incoming fist grew huge in his vision.
