Trials of the Abyss-Chapter 691: Silver Bee
Chapter 691: Silver Bee
Even within the Nether Race, there were differing opinions and conflicting factions.
Not all members of the Nether Race agreed to ally with the human race. Some of their warriors even regarded humans as enemies.
The Nether God on good terms with the Bronze-Masked God had perished before Pang Jian ever left the Thunder Abyss.
So, who's waiting for me beneath the Thunder Abyss?
Are they even a Nether God? Or is it perhaps the powerful entity that killed Pan Di? If so, could they have been lurking in the depths of the bizarre mist all along?
Pang Jian's expression darkened as he pondered the possibilities.
Ying Yue interrupted Pang Jian's spiraling thoughts as she recounted, The Bronze-Masked God advises you to remain hidden within the Thunder Abyss and ignore that imposter claiming to be a Nether God.
He also warned that the situation within the bizarre mist is far more complicated than you realize. Other terrifying beings roam within it. Some of these beings have strength rivaling that of the high-ranking Gods.
Even high-ranking Gods like Zi Mo and He Motian aren't guaranteed to gain the upper hand if they were to carelessly stumble upon one of the terrifying entities lurking within the bizarre mist. Quite a few high-ranking Gods have reportedly fallen within the bizarre mist,
Pang Jian could sense a clear note of fear in Ying Yue's final sentence.
The Moon God had once descended into the bizarre mist alongside Han Yi with their true bodies to hunt down the Star Devourer. Back then, she had not fully grasped the dangers hidden within.
The Bronze-Masked God's information was entirely beyond her prior knowledge.
Mysterious and powerful beings roamed the bizarre mist, many with the strength to obliterate high-ranking Gods!
She had once naively believed that there was little within the bizarre mist that could pose a threat to her or Han Yi.
"Thank goodness. We were lucky not to encounter the beings the Bronze-Masked God warned about," Ying Yue murmured aloud to herself.
Then, to Pang Jian, she continued, I can serve as a bridge between you and the Bronze-Masked God. As long as you remain where the moonlight can reach you, we can stay in contact.
The Bronze-Masked God advised you to be cautious. He's trying to find a way to come over and will attempt to enter the bizarre mist beyond the Abyss.
At that moment, the lightning firmament of the Thunder Abyss erupted with showers of radiant light.
The source of the scattering light was a single blinding brilliance.
Li Yuqing repeatedly struck the barrier with her sword, slicing through the seas of lightning and severing the imprinted Dao Seals etched into the barrier.
Lightning Dao Seals, Cold Dao Seals, Moon Dao Seals, and Water Dao Seals each manifested as halos and radiant glows. They converged across the firmament of this world in a breathtaking spectacle.
Li Yuqing repeatedly swung her sword, carving out unfathomable rivers of sword light with the Heaven-Splitting Sword's unparalleled sharpness and her insights into the Dao of Fate.
The cascading sword light rained like a fine drizzle, falling gently on the continents below.
Then, a blinding sword light pierced through the dense layers of lightning guarding the barrier.
With impressive momentum, Li Yuqing tore through the barrier and escaped from the Thunder Abyss.
Pang Jian was awestruck.
The inhabitants of the Thunder Abyss were also left in shock at the spectacle unfolding in the skies. They scrambled to figure out who had breached the barrier.
Lei Ying and Lei Fan, the two most powerful Thunder Race warriors with Rank Ten bloodlines, were bombarded with inquiries.
"She got out!" Lei Ying, riding a surge of lightning, appeared abruptly before Pang Jian. Ignoring the jingling from the ornaments on her arms and neck, she said in disbelief, "An outsider actually broke through the barrier of our Thunder Abyss and entered the starry skies!
"Pang Jian, didn't you say that the barrier was far more difficult to break through? How did this happen?" Lei Ying's face was filled with astonishment.
Pang Jian shook his head. He vividly remembered the terrifying suppression he had endured when attempting to break through the barrier of the Shadow Abyss using his Immortal Divine Soul.
Neither his Immortal Divine Soul nor the Gate of the Abyss had been able to grant him passage through the barrier.
This was in stark contrast to the exceptionally accommodating nature of the boundary walls.
Perhaps that was just the Shadow Abyss. Could the Thunder Abyss be different?
Ignoring Lei Ying's questions, Pang Jian shot toward the firmament of the Thunder Abyss in a flash of multicolored radiance, attempting to break through the barrier himself.
An overwhelming aura of Heavenly Dao surged from the barrier of the Thunder Abyss.
This aura was aimed solely at him!
Pang Jian's Immortal Divine Soul came to an abrupt halt, stopping just before taking the final step. He did not bother attempting. The answer was already clear.
The barriers of the abysses restricted Pang Jian's unique Immortal Divine Soul. He could only leave through the boundary walls and not the barriers.
Soaring to the skies above Thunder God Mountain, Pang Jian extended his hand.
The Thunder Pool resting atop Thunder God Mountain was slowly extracted from beneath the Nine Heavens Thunder Divine Tree with a deafening boom.
Seeing this, Lei Fan rushed over from another continent.
"I'll be leaving now," Pang Jian said, glancing at Lei Fan with the Thunder Pool in hand. "I can't leave my friend to drift alone in the bizarre mist. I need to escort her back to the Abyss."
"Pang Jian, the divine artifact of our ancestor is in your hands. The ties between you and the Thunder Race can never be severed! If possible, please look after our people in the starry skies," Lei Fan requested solemnly, voice hopeful.
"Will do. We'll meet again."
With that, Pang Jian shot straight for the closest boundary wall.
He resolved not to concern himself with the unknown entity lurking beneath the Thunder Abyss any further.
Pang Jian had brought Li Yuqing to Thunder God Mountain through a spatial rift from the Fifth World of the Abyss. Naturally, with her on the brink of ascending to godhood and in urgent need of a cluster of Fortune, he had to ensure her safe return.
Hopefully, I won't be unlucky enough to run into a high-ranking God like Zi Mo.
When he left the Thunder Abyss, Pang Jian immediately spread his divine sense outward, hoping to quickly locate Li Yuqing.
Despite the vast range of his divine sense, he detected no sign of Li Yuqing nearby.
Growing anxious, he hurriedly soared upward along the boundary wall, his divine sense constantly probing as he flew.
An unspoken sense of urgency rose within him as an abrupt realization struck him.
Those breaching the barrier of an abyss would emerge in the starry skies. Breaking through the barrier was akin to shattering the chains of a prison, allowing for a brief escape from the bizarre mist.
Li Yuqing's initial appearance after her escape would have been in the starry skies above the bizarre mist.
If she fell back into the bizarre mist, it would transport her to another location upon entry, possibly to a place far from the Thunder Abyss.
If she wandered aimlessly, she would only drift farther and farther from the Thunder Abyss. It was likely she would never find her way back to the Abyss, becoming hopelessly lost in the bizarre mist.
The bizarre mist teemed with Outer Gods, Nether Gods, and other powerful beings.
Li Yuqing was still only in the Immortal Realm. There was no way she could survive such peril.
Damn it! She's not a Thunder God, so I can't use the Thunder Pool to locate her. I can't establish a connection with her Heaven-Splitting Sword's sword soul either. How the hell am I supposed to find her?
Pang Jian's mind was in turmoil. The thought of the dangers Li Yuqing could encounter in the bizarre mist caused him to lose any semblance of calm.
At that moment, Pan Di's remains came streaking toward him. Ghostly blue flames flickered in the hollow eye sockets of the skeletal frame.
"Pang Jian, are you lost? Weren't you supposed to leave from the bottom of the Thunder Abyss? Why did you emerge from the top instead?" the entity asked. "Those Outer Gods waiting to ambush you left behind many markers in the bizarre mist. After they departed, I refined them a little."
A grayish-yellow withered leaf appeared in the bizarre mist, bearing a blue imprint on its surface. As the leaf ignited, the imprint flickered like a watchful eye.
"This is just one of them." The unknown entity chuckled lightly. "Not long ago, I caught sight of a human girl with a ponytail through one of these markers. She flew out from the bizarre mist, only to fall back into it."
"She..." Pang Jian's voice trailed off, his eyes suddenly lighting up.
Seeing Pang Jian's eyes brighten, the entity's laughter grew louder. "She seems to have gotten lost in the bizarre mist."
Pang Jian came to a halt, no longer flying aimlessly through the bizarre mist.
The mysterious entity before him had planted markers around the Thunder Abyss, allowing it to monitor its surroundings and track Pang Jian down, regardless of where he emerged.
It was clear this entity placed great importance on Pang Jian. Its discovery of Li Yuqing was likely an accident, as she was never its target.
"She's my friend. Her escape through the Thunder Abyss's barrier caught me off guard. Since we're acquainted, may I ask for a small favor? Could you help bring her to me?" Pang Jian asked, tone sincere and earnest.
"With pleasure," the entity unhesitatingly agreed, bursting into hearty laughter. "Give me some time. The marker I placed near her will guide her here. Heh, my marker will probably feel familiar to her."
A silver bee emerged from within Pan Di's skeleton, its wings vibrating as it took flight.
"The Nether Abyss Spirit Bees have always been our eyes. I only have these silver bees, but they're more than enough. There's another bee near your friend. When she sees it, she'll surely be willing to follow," the envoy from the Nether Race explained with a smile.
The appearance of the silver bee confirmed the entity's origin from the Nether Abyss.
Prior to this, Pang Jian had been uncertain about the entity's claims, and even suspected that it could be one of the other powerful beings lurking within the bizarre mist.
Despite knowing that this was indeed an envoy from the Nether Abyss, Pang Jian remained cautious, the Bronze-Masked God's warnings flashing in his mind.
This did not change the fact that the Nether God associated with the Bronze-Masked God was dead.
Keeping his guard up, Pang Jian simply said, "I'll have a quick word with her. I'll accompany you to the Nether Abyss after."
"Since she's your friend, she's more than welcome to join us," the Nether Abyss envoy insisted with a smile.
Pang Jian frowned. "I'm afraid that's not possible. She's in a hurry to return to the Abyss and ascend to godhood. Staying in the Nether Abyss would only delay her."
"Ah, I see. Fortune greatly aids the True Gods of your human race," the entity murmured. "So, she's about to ascend as well."
