Chapter 890: Chapter 888: Not My Type

The conversation between Le Tong and Nuonuo indeed reassured Nuonuo a lot, wiping away the shadow in her heart caused by those posts and replies.

The two of them, after cutting the flowers, walked back into the house cheerfully with their arms around each other’s shoulders. On seeing that the gloom between the little girl’s eyebrows had dissipated, Da Bao, who was busy with something on the sofa, couldn’t help but secretly give a thumbs up to his mommy.

Le Tong smugly raised her eyebrows at her son and threw him a glance: Rest assured, with mommy here, you can have peace of mind.

Da Bao, understanding, smiled, put down his laptop, and eagerly ran over to give his two most beloved and important women in his life shoulder and back rubs.

Le Tong did not refuse; on the contrary, she enjoyed it a lot, pointing to the sofa and jokingly said, "Sweetheart, your eagerness pleases mommy, but would you mind if we wait until mommy sits on the sofa to enjoy the full VIP service?"

Da Bao and Nuonuo were both amused by Le Tong, and they cheerfully gathered around her as she walked into the living room. Once she sat down, they each took a side on the armrest, massaging her shoulders and arms from both sides.

The mother and children chatted and laughed for a while. Suddenly, Nuonuo glanced at the rack where they kept bags and asked, "Mommy, is Little Treasure working late again?"

In the Ji Family, these two sons really love their parents deeply. Ever since these young ones joined the Ji Family business, they have taken up the laborious tasks of overtime and business trips.

At the mention of this, Le Tong laughed!

"Nuonuo, your brother is out looking for a sister-in-law for you!"

Nuonuo was stunned, taking a few seconds to react.

"Mommy, you mean Little Treasure is on a date?"

Le Tong laughed happily, "Yes, there are some sweet and lovely young girls among the recent group of work-study students at the Ji Family, and today one of them took the initiative to invite Little Treasure for dinner. Your daddy and I thought she’d be turned down, but Little Treasure actually agreed!"

Little Treasure is over a year younger than Nuonuo, and as of now, he’s not quite eighteen yet. However, given his intelligence, emotional maturity, and financial ability, dating is naturally not an issue for him.

As parents, Le Tong and Ji Rui neither oppose nor encourage it, opting instead to adopt a laissez-faire approach.

Nuonuo, however, was genuinely surprised.

"A work-study student? Is she a college student? Isn’t that quite a gap with Little Treasure?"

Nuonuo doesn’t mind other people’s age-gap relationships, but when it comes to her own brother, she instinctively feels he should find the best. If they’re too old, like Sister Fang’s type of mature woman, they often have a strong desire to control, and the thought of that image just doesn’t sit well with her.

"She’s not a college student. We’ve always collaborated with the welfare institute, right? And recently, they have a few first-year vocational high school students working as interns in our departments. The girl who invited Little Treasure seems to be just sixteen, very pretty, sweet talker, diligent, and coincidentally works in the same department as Little Treasure. It seems they have a good impression of each other,"

Le Tong spoke with a smile, which made Nuonuo happy for Little Treasure.

"Brother, have you seen that young girl?"

Da Bao shook his head, "I’m in a different department from Little Treasure; I haven’t really paid attention."

Le Tong patted Nuonuo’s hand, "Nuonuo, rest assured, your brother has his eyes only on you, other girls simply can’t catch his eye."

Da Bao didn’t mind his mother’s teasing, but instead, he teased her back with a raised eyebrow. "As if Dad has his eyes on many women."

Caught by her son’s playful rebuke, Le Tong suddenly felt sentimental, "Ah... speaking of which, you and your father are both romantics."

"Well, that’s to say if you meet the right person!" Da Bao said, winking at Nuonuo over Le Tong’s shoulder.

Nuonuo blushed and lowered her head shyly, yet Le Tong seemed oblivious to the little gestures of her children, perhaps because Da Bao’s words triggered some memory in her, or maybe it was the skillful massage that made her feel so comfortable, she lightly closed her eyes and reclined against the sofa.

As Little Treasure went on a date by himself, everyone naturally didn’t wait for him and gathered around the dining table as soon as Aunt Guan’s meal was ready.

When they were halfway through the meal, suddenly they heard the door open. Nuonuo thought it was either Big Black or Dahuai causing a ruckus, so she got up to check. As she walked out of the dining room, she saw Little Treasure taking off his jacket.

"Little Treasure, how come you’re back so early, weren’t you on a date?"

Even with Nuonuo and Da Bao’s getting along being mostly in a sibling way, she still knew that after going on a date, there were bound to be lots of activities afterward; dinner was just an introduction, the real date lied in shopping, watching movies, singing at karaoke, etc.

"I’ll talk later, I’m starving!"

With his hand on his stomach, Little Treasure dashed past Nuonuo, straight into the dining room. He looked famished, and after a hurried greeting to his parents and brother, he rushed to the table, grabbing a piece of chicken and popped it into his mouth.

Seeing this, Nuonuo hurried to the kitchen to fetch some utensils and a sanitized wet towel.

"Little Treasure, wipe your hands first." Nuonuo handed over the wet towel, and the starving young master, after grabbing his chopsticks, began eating, thrusting his free left hand towards Nuonuo.

Nuonuo didn’t seem to find this unusual and simply grabbed his hand, helping him clean it with the wet towel. After she cleaned his left hand, the little master then used it to snag a chicken leg, presenting his right hand to Nuonuo.

Nuonuo again said nothing, dutifully helping him clean his right hand too.

"Tut-tut, the young master is still small; he needs his sister to help wipe his hands."

Actually, helping Little Treasure wipe his hands and face was nothing new for Nuonuo; she had been doing it since they were young. Only in the past two or three years did it become less frequent in the Ji Family’s dining room, mostly because Little Treasure was away studying in Beijing, limiting their opportunities to be together.

And now, with this long-missed scene playing out once more, the Ji Family’s parents, including Da Bao as the elder brother, all seemed unfazed, each continuing with their own dinner calmly.

Finally, Nuonuo even helped Little Treasure clean his greasy mouth before sitting down to eat herself.

"Little Treasure, just now, mommy happily announced that you went to find a sister-in-law for me and Nuonuo. Why are you back so early? And looking like a starving ghost?"

Little Treasure slurped down half a bowl of soup, temporarily pacifying his hunger, then put down the bowl, casting Le Tong an annoyed glance, "Mommy, you must be crazy to think about having a daughter-in-law, right? You can urge on Brother and Sister’s affairs, but as for mine, don’t bother unnecessarily, I’m only seventeen!"

With Little Treasure’s remarks, Le Tong realized that perhaps she indeed misunderstood something?

But in the afternoon, she had clearly watched her son nod in agreement to that young girl’s invitation.

Little Treasure, catching her puzzled look, glanced back at her.

"Mommy, that young girl is younger than me, her skin is as thin as paper, and when she invited me to dinner, her face turned as red as blood. If I rejected her on the spot, I really feared she might not handle it well!"

Well, her son’s reasoning was indeed sound. But, her curiosity remained, "Someone like her, you don’t like?"

Without even thinking, Little Treasure shook his head, "Not at all! Not my type at all!"
