Traveler of the River of Time and Space-Chapter 419 - 14: Reunion with the Onion Knight
"Tomb King..." Fried Nun muttered.
As the skull in front shattered completely, the Tomb King Nite, formed by countless skeletal shadows, gradually disappeared. This goblet was merely the regal artifact he had crafted and not the original body of the Tomb King Nite.
"Are you alright?" Fried Nun looked at Su Ziyu beside her and asked softly.
Su Ziyu gently shook his head and looked at his own hands. He could see his hands had shriveled a bit, and unsurprisingly, his body seemed to show slight signs of zombification.
The laws of this plane are truly disgusting, as humanity seems so easily lost.
"The alternate space we were in just now seems to be the entrance to the Abyss," Fried Nun said with a trace of fear.
The endless darkness should be connected to the Abyss.
Su Ziyu nodded silently.
"Below here should be the rumored buried Sickness Village," Fried Nun thought for a moment and then turned to ask, "Should we go down or up?"
Su Ziyu glanced at the stairs ahead and said, "What do you think?"
"Going out from here leads to the Yirushir of Cold Valley. I went there a long time ago," Fried Nun recalled for a moment and said, "I am not familiar with the area below here, having never been there."
Upon hearing this, Su Ziyu straightforwardly said, "Then let's go up."
The underground is not convenient for Su Ziyu to exercise his abilities. Thunder Strike is essentially unusable, and Telekinesis Flight lacks enough space to be deployed. An open environment on the surface is more suitable for him to exert his combat power.
"Then let's go up," Fried Nun nodded in agreement.
It seems she doesn't like burrowing underground either.
Behind the altar is a row of staircases. Su Ziyu took a slight turn here with no other discoveries or any special burial items.
The two ascended along the stairs.
After walking for a while, the light ahead suddenly brightened a lot, and soon an exit appeared in front of them.
Everything before them suddenly became clear.
Su Ziyu felt a wisp of cold wind blowing against him, with a magnificent aura appearing in his view, resembling a kind of aurora sliding from the heaven. There was a faint glimpse of the moon obscured by clouds. In front of them stood a majestic ancient city, unlike the Lothric Royal City, everything here seemed orderly and beautiful. Tall Gothic buildings dotted the city, giving an undeniable sense of lingering civilization on a glance.
"Yirushir..." Fried Nun murmured.
She reached out to catch the glistening snowflakes drifting with the wind, and whispered, "It's been a long time since I last came here."
A few hundred meters away stood a majestic arched bridge which led into the city.
—"Overlord Vonier's Twisted Soul (refinable): A soul that intended to become the last of the dead, but was ultimately swallowed by the Abyss. Before dying, he prayed to the Tomb King for shelter, eventually sealed in an unknown space. Refining can yield 1200 Energy Value. Can consume 1 Source Power Value to convert into a Legendary Soul Crystal Stone."
The two did not directly enter the interior of Yirushir.
Because this place is the territory of Pope Shalivan, no one knew what the situation inside might be, or if there could be any danger.
A cluster of campfire gently ignited.
Su Ziyu needed to restore the consumed spiritual ability value, and Fried Nun also needed to replenish her used Elemental Bottles, so the two rested at the halfway point of the hill outside Yirushir.
"Legend has it that Pope Shalivan also came here from the Painting World," Fried Nun gazed at the magnificent city in the distance and said softly, "He single-handedly established the current Yirushir, but later he seems to have betrayed the Divine Race."
Su Ziyu listened quietly.
Fried Nun opened her mouth to recount her past memories, but suddenly a violent noise interrupted her words.
The disturbance came from the bridge over there.
"Someone is fighting." Su Ziyu stood up directly, said solemnly.
From here, they could see the situation at the bridgehead. In their view appeared a round, rotund figure carrying a large longsword in both hands, constantly rolling and dodging from a grotesque creature behind him. That creature looked like a blend of lizard and crocodile, with six faintly glowing eyes on its head, covered in black fur on its back, yet with visible rib bones in its abdomen, and its belly completely decayed and split open.
"It's the Onion Knight!" Su Ziyu's expression showed a bit of surprise.
"He seems to be no match for that monster," Fried Nun's expression was slightly curious, looking at the Onion Knight fighting and retreating not far away, muttering, "That sword... is..."
Sword?
Su Ziyu focused his gaze and could see the sword in the Onion Knight's hand looked a bit larger than last time. Last time it seemed to be a Hybrid Greatsword; this time it was somewhat unrecognizable.
"Let's help first!" Su Ziyu's figure jumped down directly and said, "He seems to be struggling a bit."
Boom.
The crocodile-like creature was rampaging across the bridge, with a body length close to fifteen meters, its massive build giving it an overwhelming advantage. Though the Onion Knight was quite strong, he was on the losing end, completely chased around.
However, as Su Ziyu and Fried Nun approached.
The Onion Knight rolled repeatedly to widen the gap, then took advantage of the moment when the creature was stuck by a stone pillar, tightly gripping the heavy great sword in his hands.
