Chapter 445: You want me to make an order?

I checked my phone. I hadn’t gotten a response from Jin-Yeok.

It had been almost an hour since I sent the messages to him. I even went as far as telling him I missed him, but he hadn’t viewed it, not to mention respond.

I twisted my lips, feeling a little disappointed and a little worried, but I guess he was right when he said he wouldn’t be able to communicate through phone for a while.

Still, I wish to know how he’s doing. And I wish he could know that I worried for him.

"He’s here," the manager said and I raised my head to find someone peeking from behind him.

He wasn’t exactly peeking, but his height was nothing to scoff at.

If the manager was 5.4 then this guy was easily 6.1 inches tall.

He was on the tall side, having very tanned skin and rough, curly black hair that covered his forehead and eyes. Can he even see that way? 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

The way he was dressed too.

He was wearing a dirty apron and a pair of hard leather gloves.

He looked like someone who had been dragged from his work just to be here and was begrudging about it.

But somehow, I could smell metal on him.

My nose wiggled in the air, sniffing out sulfur and metal crust.

Was he a simple craftsman? I doubt it.

If anything, his appearance and the way he smelled reminded me of a blacksmith in a fantasy novel.

"Is this who I’m meeting with?" I heard his voice, his accent giving away the fact that he wasn’t very proficient in speaking Korean.

He was definitely a foreigner.

"Yes, this is master Jo-Pil, and he has the highest authority in giving commands so please mind your manners and watch what you say when speaking to him."

Those warnings fell on deaf ears.

I looked at the manager, and how anxious he looked.

From the looks of it, this guy didn’t do well in respecting people.

I’d say, given how he had no issue meeting someone who wanted to commission a work from him while dressed like that.

I don’t normally criticize people for their dressing but there was a way he acted that came across as completely rude.

He definitely didn’t want to be here.

He reminded me of Cha Hyun-woo.

Do people with talent always carry themselves however they like?

He’s not someone who appeared in the novel so I don’t know anything about him or what he’s like. Or even... I narrowed my eyes... If he’s putting on an act to test me.

"Whatever, let’s just get to it." He said and sat opposite me. "You want to make an order?"

I paused, staring at him.

I didn’t say a word, and even Jie-Yu, sitting next to me, began to feel a little anxious.

"Um, Jo-Pil?"

Still, I did not say anything. It’s not like I was testing his patience, or anything. I was just using my brains a bit.

There’s definitely a way to deal with this sort of person. If I act too humble, he’ll walk all over me, and if I act too pompous, he’ll take me as a rich snob who just wants to throw money around.

I sighed.

This was a bit tricky.

"Hey," he called out rudely and the manager flinched.

"I told you to mind your words," he said but the craftsman ignored him.

"I don’t know what you’re playing at but I’m a very busy guy." He said and attempted to stand up. "If you’re not ready to make your order then come back another time."

"Ha," I let out a single laugh and he paused. "That’s funny. I’m not ready to make my order? But it seems to me like you’re the one who doesn’t want to take my order."

"What was that?"

"You know you’re meeting up with a customer, yet you come here smelling like metal and sulphur, as if you had just come out of a mine," I said and he flinched, his body tuning rigid. "I’m not sure you took a bath before coming here but if you did, you wouldn’t have worn what you’re wearing now, making it seem like I disturbed you from your precious work and would like to get back to it as soon as possible. You didn’t introduce yourself either and just went to sit down. In a way, you called the meeting with me irrelevant and my commission unimportant."

The manager began to panic.

"Master Jo-Pil, please don’t take it the wrong way at all. It’s..." I raised my hand, halting him from speaking any further.

I’m sorry, but I don’t appreciate anyone who tries to walk over me. Call it pride or whatever but I’m a man too.

If I can control the four powerful Alphas moving this nation, then what’s one single craftsman?

Though what I have with the Alphas has nothing to do with politics, control, and influence, but rather with feelings and how we see eye to eye... The fact still stands.

As such, it hurts my ego that he’s looking down on me so much because he has ’talent’. Well, excuse me for not being born with talent like yours, but since I have a talent for spending money, let’s call it even.

"Sit down!" I said, my voice smooth and calm, looking at him with authority surging around me. "If you think it’s not fair that I’m throwing my weight around just because I have money then, then tough luck." I glared. "I won’t repeat it a third time, mister craftsman. Sit. Down."

The craftsman was taken aback.

He didn’t expect this.

What he saw when he walked in was a pretty Omega who wanted to spend his Alpha’s money.

I probably looked like a bimbo, an idiot who didn’t know what the world was like.

To him, I was getting ahead of myself thinking money could buy anything.

I don’t know if the manager told him of my connections with the Alphas or not but his reaction definitely pissed me off.

He sat down. But then he crossed his legs and laughed.

He laughed with such a hearty and loud laugh that I frowned.

What was this now?

"I wanted to see if it was true," he said and suddenly lifted his hand to his face. "That bastard of a boss definitely knew what he was saying."

What’s he saying? I can’t understand it.

Did he mean Jin-Yeok when he said bastard of a boss?
