Transmigration: Step Into The World of Books And Become The Strongest!-Chapter 57: Sharon’s Awakening That Shocked Everyone
"Don’t worry, Princess. I’ve got your back."
The voice seemed to ease Sharon’s anxiety. Her nervous expression slowly hardened into a determined one as she rose to her feet.
Under the watchful eyes of Nathan, Elizabeth, the concubines, princes and princesses, and the kingdom’s high-ranking officials, she walked gracefully toward Catrine.
"What is your name, Princess?" Catrine asked calmly, though her voice felt cold and detached.
Sharon looked at her and replied, "My name is Sharon Valura, Miss Catrine."
She tugged lightly at the hem of her dress and bowed politely.
Her soft voice, free of any arrogance, made Catrine feel more at ease.
However, when she remembered Clareth’s nature—so different from her initial impression—her expression grew cold again.
"Alright, place your right hand on this crystal ball," she instructed.
Sharon gave a small nod and placed her right hand on the crystal ball.
To everyone’s surprise, the crystal ball showed no reaction.
From the throne, Nathan simply let out a small sigh and shook his head.
He had already expected this, even before Sharon began.
After all, Sharon’s mother was just an ordinary woman without any power, so it was almost impossible for Sharon to awaken any elemental attributes.
Beside him, Victoria smiled faintly, a playful glint in her eyes.
’You little bastard... Did you really think you could awaken an elemental attribute?’ She laughed inwardly.
Although she had expected this outcome, seeing it happen still felt incredibly satisfying and entertaining.
’Pfft!’ Cassius couldn’t hold back his laughter. ’This damn girl failed to awaken her elemental attribute. As expected of trash.’
Since the incident last night, his hatred for Sharon had only grown.
If not for her and that damn man named Avaron, he wouldn’t have been humiliated in front of the noble families’ sons and daughters.
Worse yet, his relationship with Celine had also been damaged, and he wasn’t sure if their engagement could still be salvaged.
Unable to take revenge on Avaron, he could only vent his anger on Sharon.
After today, he was even more determined to crush her however he could.
Meanwhile, Catrine showed no hint of surprise at the result.
There had been many before Sharon—including Clareth and several other princes and princesses—who failed to awaken their magic attributes.
"Sorry, Princess, it seems you have no talent for magic," she said gently, with a touch of pity in her voice.
She had to admit that Clareth’s earlier behavior had upset her greatly, and as a result, she subconsciously resented the other princes and princesses as well, even though she knew she shouldn’t.
Yet somehow, the Sharon standing before her gave off an air of kindness and innocence, slowly easing her resentment.
Hearing Catrine’s words, Sharon stayed silent for a moment. Her expression remained firm as she said, "May I have a minute, Miss Catrine? I believe I can awaken an elemental attribute."
Catrine was momentarily at a loss for words and was about to refuse when Rudolf, who stood beside her, spoke up first.
"Alright, I’ll give you some time," Rudolf said.
His words caught Catrine by surprise, and she turned to him with a questioning look.
She knew Rudolf well—he hated wasting time. To him, the result was obvious: Sharon had no magical talent.
Yet Rudolf allowed it, leaving Catrine both confused and curious.
Rudolf, however, pretended not to notice her gaze. His eyes remained fixed on Sharon.
For some reason, he had a strong feeling that this girl was no ordinary one.
As a level-five mage, he trusted that his instincts were more than just a hunch—they often proved to be right.
One second... five seconds... ten seconds... twenty seconds...
Time ticked by, but the crystal ball remained dim and unresponsive.
Even at the sixtieth second, it showed no signs of reacting.
Catrine let out a soft sigh of regret. If only there had been even a flicker of light, it would have been wonderful, wouldn’t it?
Gritting her teeth, Sharon muttered, "Come on... I know I have it! Aron told me so, and it must be true!"
As if awakened by her determination, the previously silent crystal ball suddenly shook violently.
A faint golden light slowly emerged across its surface, stunning everyone in the room.
"What!? How is that possible?" Catrine gasped, her eyes wide in disbelief.
The crystal ball that had remained lifeless was now glowing!
Rudolf, on the other hand, couldn’t help but smile.
He knew his hunch had been right. This girl, Sharon, was truly something special!
"Impossible!" Victoria’s eyes widened in shock as she rose to her feet, her face pale with horror.
There was no way Sharon could have awakened her attribute—it was an absolute impossibility!
But now, she had done it.
Does this mean the attribute she awakened was...
"Light attribute..." Nathan’s voice trembled from the side.
His usually calm and indifferent expression had shifted into one of astonishment, confusion, and disbelief.
For hundreds of years, only one person per generation had been able to awaken this attribute—and in this era, that person had always been the First Prince.
Yet now, that tradition had been shattered by a young girl who had never been considered.
’Damn it! How did this happen?’ Cassius stood up, fear crawling across his handsome face.
Sharon, the girl he had deemed worthless, had somehow managed to awaken her attribute. This was something he never could have imagined!
Before, he had been confident he could suppress her, but now everything had changed.
After all, Sharon would inevitably enter the academy—and he would no longer have the chance to suppress her.
It wasn’t just Cassius, Nathan, and Victoria who were stunned, but also the concubines, ministers, and high-ranking officials of the Magic Kingdom of Valdom, all of whom struggled to hide their shock.
For the concubines, Sharon’s awakening posed a grave threat. In the past, they and their children had either openly or secretly oppressed her.
Now, it was not unthinkable that Sharon would one day seek revenge once she grew stronger.
In contrast to the concubines’ worries, the ministers and high-ranking officials viewed the situation from a broader perspective.
Until now, only the First Prince had ever been able to awaken the light attribute within the royal family.
The throne had seemed destined to fall into his hands. But Sharon’s sudden emergence with the same attribute had shattered that certainty.
They now believed that a bloody storm would soon sweep across the entire kingdom!
Among all those stunned by the revelation, only Arthur remained unfazed.
A faint smile played on his lips as he watched Nathan, Victoria, the concubines, the princes and princesses, the ministers, and other high-ranking officials, his gaze filled with playful amusement.
"Today marks the rise of Sharon, the future tyrannical queen who will shake this continent... Hahaha... Things are getting interesting..."
