Even though she was unable to open her eyes, Tao Luqi could hear Fu Mingze’s voice as he told her that their children were safe.

Hearing Fu Mingze’s voice was one of the things that brought joy but all of a sudden the voice stopped and there was only silence and darkness.

Was she dead? Is that why it’s so quiet? Tao Luqi asked herself and suddenly saw herself in an abandoned warehouse. The warehouse was surrounded by fire and she could feel pain all around her body.

It’s this dream again, she always wakes up before being burnt alive but she wonders if it will be different this time. Why does she always have this dream?

"I can’t believe you are still sleeping by this time, you have only one hour to your exam."

Tao Luqi opened her eyes when she heard that voice, the voice sounded familiar but at the same time, it was not.

She looked at the owner of the voice in confusion and asked "What are you talking about?"

It was then Tao Luqi noticed that she was in a completely different environment. "Where am I?" She found herself asking.

"Are you all right? I told you to stop reading that novel. Did you even read for your exams last night or are you still hung over Fu Mingze? It’s just a book, Liu Yi, he is just a character, the man isn’t even real."

"Of course he is real, how could you even say that to me?" Tao Luqi shouted.

Duan Rian frowned and said "Why are you getting so worked up? Relax. What’s wrong with you Liu Yi, you just feel different today?"

Liu Yi, yes that’s her name. Her name is Liu Yi, so why did she think that she was Tao Luqi? Hold on, Tao Luqi? Who is that?

"I have no idea what is going on with you now but you need to go get ready for your exam, you can’t miss it.

Liu Yi nodded absentmindedly and got up from her bed. She walked into her bathroom and as the water from the shower touched her head, Liu Yi felt relieved and alive. It’s funny because she has never been dead.

Now she remembered what happened to her last night, she fell asleep when crying because of her Fu Mingze sad ending.

She hadn’t even read for this exam, how was she going to write it? Her aunt will kill her if she fails.

Liu Yi sighed and quickly finished her bath, she came out of her bathroom and saw Duan Rian reading a novel in her hand.

Liu Yi frowned when she saw the novel her friend was reading and before she could say anything, Duan Rian looked at her and said "I thought you said Fu Mingze didn’t have anyone who truly loved him."

"What?"

"It looks like Yang Jia’s younger sister did love Fu Mingze and from the few dialogues I have read between them, I will say he liked her too." Duan Rian said, placing the book on the bed.

"What nonsense are you saying? Yang Meiyi died at eighteen and the only person who truly loved Fu Mingze was his grandfather." Liu Yi said angrily, she couldn’t tell why she was angry but for some reason she just was.

Liu Yi ignored her friend and got dressed "I’m ready, let go."

Duan Rian nodded and they both left the room. While Liu Yi went to write her exam, Duan Rian left to attend her classes.

Two hours later, Liu Yi came out of the exam hall, looking confused. She was sure she hadn’t read for the test so how was it possible that she knew most of the answers? Could it be that she has gotten smart overnight? The thought of that brought a slight smile to her face.

She checked the time on her phone and saw that Duan Rian still had two more hours before her classes will end for the day, so Liu Yi decided to leave a text for her friend and go back to her apartment to arrange her things.

Immediately Liu Yi got to her apartment, she sighed at how scattered it was and began arranging her things.

It took approximately an hour for her to arrange and clean her apartment. A satisfied feeling washed over her, seeing her arranged apartment, she went to her bedroom to arrange her bed next when she saw the novel she had been obsessed with on her bed, and seeing it made her remember Duan Rian’s words before she left for the exam.

"Where did she even read that Fu Mingze liked Yang Meiyi? Did she mistake Yang Jia’s name for Yang Meiyi?" Liu Yi asked herself, moving to collect the novel from her bed. She had read this book more than two times so she knew all the ins and outs of the book but as she opened the book again to just glance through it one more time, Liu Yi felt as if she was reading a different story.

The names of the characters were still the same but the storyline wasn’t the same. What is happening? How did the story change? Liu Yi asked herself but couldn’t even ponder on her questions because of how captivated she suddenly became by the novel.

It was as if she was enchanted by the book because everything else left her mind and she just kept turning page after page.

Who knows how long it has been since she even started the book but as Liu Yi flipped to the next page she saw that it was blank and it was only then she came back to her senses.

Tears streamed down her eyes and no matter how hard she cleaned her eyes, they wouldn’t stop flowing. Liu Yi finally gave in to the immense sadness in her heart and sobbed loudly.

"Mingze, what do I do? How do I get back? I’m scared, I’m so scared" Liu Yi said as she sobbed heavily. The book was rewritten into her and Fu Mingze’s story and it ended when the doctor declared that she had slipped into a coma, every other page was blank.

Liu Yi stood up from her bed and said to herself "I need to find a way to go back, I must get back to my husband and children."
