Fu Mingze sighed and uncrossed his leg as he asked "The kid that Fu Liang bit, which family does he come from."

"From the Cang family?"

"Have they reached out in regards to their son?" Fu Mingze asked.

Xia Lian nodded and said, "He wants to have a meeting with you and also for you to invest in his company, if you do that then he will forget the harm little master Fu Liang caused to his son."

Xia Lian looked at his boss that has been silent for a while and asked "Should I arrange the meeting?"

"No, don’t do that. I agree Fu Liang made a mistake by resulting in violence but I won’t forget that his son is also the reason my child cried in my arms last night. I will go to the teacher’s meeting on Monday and let’s be honest, it’s not like they could do anything."

Xia Lian smiled slightly and said "True sir."

"What is my schedule for today?"

"Your morning and afternoon schedule is clear but you have the business annual award meeting to attend tonight."

"I’m not going." Fu Mingze replied.

Xia Lian wasn’t really surprised to hear that, his boss has never been a fan of these meetings.

Fu Mingze felt his phone vibrating on the sofa, he saw that it was Bai Jian calling and answered.

"Please tell me you are still going to the event tonight?" Bai Jian asked over the phone.

"No, I’m not. There is no one to watch Fu Liang and after yesterday, I don’t feel good with leaving him alone."

"After yesterday? What happened to him yesterday?"

"Fu Liang has just been feeling sensitive lately, don’t worry about him. I prefer to spend tonight with my son than to be seeing the faces of pretentious businessmen." Fu Mingze replied and signaled for Xia Lian to leave him alone.

Xia Lian nodded and left his boss’s study.

Bai Jian sighed and said, "I was hoping you would come, Tao Hui would be there also."

"There is no need for me to see Tao Hui, we already have a meeting with him on Monday."

"And what about Ye Qingyi? Bringing her to this party will make everyone truly believe that she is your fiancee."

Fu Mingze stood up from the sofa and walked to his desk, he looked at the small frame on his desk. It was a picture of him, Yang Meiyi, and a six-month-old Fu Liang. "I asked her to marry me over the phone and she put the ring on her finger."

"Hold on, you mean you didn’t even place a ring on her finger?" Bai Jian asked in disbelief.

Fu Mingze sat on the chair as he replied "I...I just couldn’t. No matter how hard I try or even think about it, I can’t see myself placing a ring on another’s woman finger and the worst part is Fu Liang doesn’t even know, he will freak out once he finds out."

"Ye Qingyi has been a part of his life for four years, I’m sure he is used to her by now."

Fu Mingze shook his head and said "Fu Liang doesn’t get used to people, it’s either he likes you or hates you."

"Wait! I just had an idea. Why don’t you bring your son to the event as well? I’m sure Fu Liang will love it there."

"I’m not sure about that, what if I lose sight of him?"

After the call ended, Fu Mingze collected the frame on the desk and used his hand to trace Yang Meiyi’s smile. He dropped back the frame and called Ye Qingyi.

Ye Qingyi immediately answered the call and before she could say anything, she heard Fu Mingze’s melodious voice saying "Would you like to be my plus one to tonight’s event?"

Ye Qingyi covered her mouth to stop herself from screaming in excitement, she controlled her emotions and said "Yes, of course, I will be your plus one."

Fu Mingze nodded, "Fu Liang will be coming as well so I want you to remember what we talked about."

Ye Qingyi’s excitement died down a little when she heard that Fu Liang would also be tagging along, why did he have to bring his son to such an important event?
