Chapter 464: Chapter 464; Honeymoon Phase 6

Minghao hurried across the parking lot, weaving between slower-moving groups of students. As she got closer, she could see Twilight in the driver’s seat, looking simultaneously proud and slightly mischievous, her hands resting casually on the steering wheel like she belonged there.

"Twilight!" Minghao reached the car, slightly breathless. "Does Daddy know you took this?"

"Hehehe... let’s go, don’t be worried!" Twilight’s grin was unrepentant as she leaned over to unlock the passenger door. "Your momma gave me permission. And there’s no way she’d let him get upset with me, so while they’re out there on honeymoon, we should enjoy these exclusives!"

The logic was sound, if slightly questionable. Minghao hesitated for just a moment before the allure of riding in one of her father’s prized vehicles won out over caution.

But before she could open the door, the crowd of students pressed closer, their restraint finally breaking.

"Woooow, Young Miss Huo!" One of her older classmates, a boy from the middle school section, approached with obvious admiration. "You have such a beautiful car! Is this yours?"

"It’s my father’s," Minghao corrected automatically, though she couldn’t help the small smile of pride. "It’s one of his collections."

"The modifications are insane," another student breathed, walking slowly around the vehicle like it was a piece of art in a museum. "Look at the carbon fiber body panels. And those rims, are those custom forged?"

"Can we take a picture?" A girl pulled out her phone, already angling for the best shot.

"Young Miss Huo is so lucky!"

"I heard her father has like, twenty cars like this!"

"This must cost more than my parents’ house!"

The attention was becoming overwhelming. Minghao glanced at Twilight, who seemed to be enjoying the spectacle but also looked ready to make their escape before it got out of hand.

"Everyone, please step back!" A familiar authoritative voice cut through the chatter. Teacher Liu, who supervised the parking lot during dismissal, was approaching with her clipboard and her no-nonsense expression. "You’re blocking traffic. Clear the area!"

The crowd reluctantly dispersed, though many students continued to stare and whisper as they moved away. A few bold ones still snapped photos with their phones, probably already planning to post them on social media.

"Young Miss Huo," Teacher Liu said, her tone softening slightly when she addressed Minghao directly. "Please tell whoever is driving to be extremely careful in the school zone. We have many young children, and that vehicle looks... quite powerful."

"Yes, Teacher Liu. Twilight is a very careful driver," Minghao assured her respectfully. Because she had been driven by her several times. Even when she looked young, she was a pro compared to most of the drivers.

Teacher Liu’s eyebrows rose slightly when she noticed Twilight’s age, but she simply nodded. "See that you are. Safety first, always."

With the crowd dispersed and Teacher Liu’s blessing secured, Minghao finally opened the passenger door and slid into the luxurious interior. The seats were butter-soft leather, the dashboard a blend of cutting-edge technology and elegant design. Everything smelled new and expensive.

"Buckle up!" Twilight said cheerfully, waiting until Minghao had secured her seatbelt before starting the engine.

The sound that emerged was somewhere between a purr and a roar, restrained power barely contained. Several students who hadn’t yet left the parking lot turned to stare again.

"Twilight," Minghao said as the engine purred, as it began moving at a sensible, school-zone-appropriate speed despite the car’s obvious capabilities, "you know Daddy is going to find out about this, right?"

"Eventually," Twilight agreed, completely unbothered. "But by then, we’ll have had so much fun that it’ll be worth whatever lecture he gives me. Besides..." she flashed a grin "...your momma said I could. That’s basically immunity."

Minghao couldn’t argue with that logic. Tang Fei’s word was law, even for Huo Ting Cheng. Especially for Huo Ting Cheng, lately.

They circled back through the parking lot, maneuvering carefully around the dispersing crowd of students and parents. Near the west entrance, Qin Xinyu stood waiting with his backpack slung over one shoulder, his posture relaxed but alert. When he spotted the matte red sports car approaching, his eyes widened perceptibly.

Twilight pulled up beside him smoothly, and Minghao rolled down the window. "Get in! We’re your ride today!"

Qin Xinyu approached slowly, taking in the vehicle with an expression caught between admiration and concern. "Is this... is this one of Uncle Huo’s collection cars?"

"Maybe," Twilight called from the driver’s seat, grinning impishly. "Are you getting in or not?"

He opened the rear door, the car had an unusual configuration with two seats in front and a single, luxurious seat in the back, and slid inside. The interior was even more impressive from within: premium leather, carbon fiber accents, a dashboard that looked like it belonged in a spaceship.

"Twilight," he said carefully as he buckled his seatbelt, "does Uncle Huo actually know you’re driving this? The estate guards didn’t stop you?"

"They work for the Huo family," Twilight replied airily, putting the car in gear. "I’m family. Sort of. Close enough."

Qin Xinyu caught Minghao’s eye in the rearview mirror, and she gave him a small shrug that said I already tried that argument.

As they exited the school grounds, moving at a careful, respectful pace that wouldn’t alarm Teacher Liu or any of the other supervisors, Qin Xinyu found himself studying Twilight with renewed fascination. She was his age, fourteen, and yet she moved through the world with a confidence and capability that seemed almost impossible. Driving a multi-million yuan sports car like it was nothing. Managing an entire entertainment company. She looked extraordinary.

He was genuinely proud of his sister,. But there was also a small, quiet part of him that wondered about her past. How had she survived before the Tang Fei took her in? What had shaped her into someone so remarkably self-sufficient?

"Hold onto the straps," Twilight announced cheerfully as they cleared the school zone and merged onto the open road. "I’m going to give you the best ride."
