Transmigration; A Mother's Redemption and a perfect Wife.-Chapter 453; Honeymoon Phase 5 (g)
Once they were clean, he turned off the water and dried her tenderly with a plush towel, patting rather than rubbing, taking care with every sensitive area. Then he carried her back to the bedroom, laying her carefully on the fresh side of the bed where the sheets were still cool and unwrinkled.
He retrieved massage oil from the nightstand drawer, expensive stuff, scented with lavender and chamomile. His hands worked expertly over her lower back and waist, knowing from experience that she’d be significantly sore tomorrow.
The massage was thorough and methodical, his strong fingers kneading the tension from her muscles, working out knots before they could fully form, preparing her body for the inevitable aches.
Finally, he reached for a medicinal ointment kept specifically for this purpose, applying it gently to her swollen, tender flesh with careful, clinical precision. She stirred slightly at the cool sensation, a small sound escaping her throat, but didn’t wake fully, just shifted minutely before settling back into deep sleep.
Satisfied that he’d done everything possible to ease her inevitable discomfort, Huo Ting Cheng slid into bed beside her and pulled her pliant form into his arms. She instinctively curled against his chest even in unconsciousness, seeking his warmth like a flower turning toward the sun, her body recognizing him even when her mind couldn’t.
He pressed a lingering kiss to her forehead, his expression softening into something almost vulnerable in the darkness. "Sleep well, Mrs. Huo," he murmured to her unhearing ears, before allowing exhaustion to finally claim him as well.
The anklet caught the pale moonlight filtering through the gauzy curtains, still glinting softly around her ankle, a delicate reminder of the intensity they’d just shared, a marker of possession and promise intertwined.
The Next Morning
Twilight arrived at the villa early, the morning air still crisp and cool as the sun barely crested the horizon. She found Minghao and Qin Xinyu already dressed and ready for school..
Qin Xinyu was kneeling before Minghao, helping her tie her shoes with movements that were careful and patient, his fingers working the laces with surprising dexterity.
"Good morning, Young Master, Young Miss," Twilight greeted them with a warm smile, setting down her bag by the entryway.
"Morning, Aunt Twilight!" Minghao chirped brightly, her voice carrying that particular brand of childish enthusiasm that only early risers possessed. She bounced slightly on her tied shoes. "Is Momma awake yet?"
"I don’t believe so," Twilight replied diplomatically, choosing her words with care. There were some things children didn’t need to know. "She and your father had a late night at work. Come on, let’s get you all to school."
"Good morning Twilight..." Qin Xinyu responded gazing at Twilight. They haven’t gotten time to sit down and chat. Looking at her, he wondered how her childhood was and used to be that she matured so young.
She warmly smiled at him nodding.
"Don’t forget to enroll Qing Qing today!" Minghao added, suddenly remembering the important task as children often did at the last possible moment.
"Of course," Twilight assured her, ushering the children toward the door. "That’s exactly what we’re doing this morning."
After settling down, she drove them away from the mansion over to the school.
" Auntie... You didn’t sleep around the mansion last night?" She asked curiously, seeing her coming, and had a bag with her.
" Yes, I had things to take care of and was late couldn’t come back to the mansion!"
At the school entrance, the modern building rising impressively against the morning sky, Twilight suddenly realized she needed proper authorization for enrollment. Official documentation, signatures, things she couldn’t provide on her own. She pulled out her phone and quickly dialed Huo Qi’s number.
"Young Mistress Twilight," Huo Qi answered on the second ring, his voice crisp and professional as always.
"I need to enroll Qing Qing for school, but I need either Master or Missus to authorize it," she explained, keeping her voice low so the children wouldn’t overhear any complications. "The school requires parental consent forms."
There was a telling pause on the other end, just long enough to be significant.
"Master and Missus are still asleep," Huo Qi finally spoke up, and there was something carefully neutral in his tone. "Master had a... vigorous evening. I’ll contact the Director directly and handle the authorization from this end. You can manage everything else on your end, the paperwork, the orientation, the class placement."
Twilight couldn’t quite suppress a knowing smile at the diplomatic phrasing. "Understood. Thank you, Huo Qi."
"Just doing my job, Young Mistress."
After dropping the children off at their respective classrooms, Minghao skipped happily to join her friends. The boy walked with more reserved dignity, and, ensuring the enrollment process was properly underway with the school administrator, Twilight drove across the city to the Entertainment City.
The building gleamed in the late morning sun, all glass and steel and modern ambition.
With Tang Fei away on her honeymoon, the responsibility of overseeing the newly absorbed talent had fallen to Twilight, a task that felt simultaneously thrilling and enormous for someone only fourteen years old. The auditions were complete, contracts signed, and now came the crucial phase: assessment. Understanding what each artist was truly capable of, where they needed polish, and how best to deploy them.
Tang Fei had trusted her with this and everything. That trust meant everything.
The company hummed with activity as Twilight made her rounds, clipboard in hand, trying to project the same quiet authority she’d observed in Tang Fei countless times.
On the third floor, a drama was already in production, a mini-series with a tight shooting schedule. She slipped onto the set during a take, staying carefully out of the way, watching intently. Two of their newly signed actors were in the scene, and she studied them with the focused attention of someone determined not to miss anything important. One had natural charisma that translated beautifully on camera, his expressions subtle yet powerful. The other was technically competent but lacked that indefinable spark.
