Transmigration; A Mother's Redemption and a perfect Wife.-Chapter 375; Rescuing mission
"You either find a way to let us out of this place, or we will knock you out and leave you here unconscious, and fight our way through. You can choose which path to take..."
Tang Fei’s eyes were completely different now, not the gentle, loving wife who’d spent the evening in her husband’s lap, but someone dangerous.
Huo Wu looked between Tang Fei and Twilight, both of whom were watching him with expressions that promised they would absolutely follow through on the threat.
He weighed his options quickly. Either way, he’d be punished when Huo Ting Cheng found out. But at least if he helped, he’d be conscious and could potentially protect them.
"I will take you out," he chose the latter, and you could hear resignation in his voice. "But let me accompany you..."
He didn’t know what she was up to, but either way, he would have to give in. And maybe, just maybe, he could keep her alive while she did whatever insane thing she was planning.
They strode over to the emergency stairs, using Huo Wu’s fingerprint to open the secured door between the 50th and 49th floors. The 50th floor was completely isolated, no one was supposed to access it except through the private elevator used exclusively by Huo Ting Cheng and his most trusted people.
At the 49th floor, they took a different elevator, one of the regular ones used by senior management, down to the ground floor reception area.
The people working the late shift didn’t notice anything unusual. This was a huge company with thousands of employees coming and going at all hours.
After exiting the building, they spotted a taxi parked near the entrance, one of those self-service vehicles you could pay to drive yourself or hire a designated driver for.
Tang Fei occupied the driver’s seat immediately. Twilight slid into the passenger seat while Huo Wu reluctantly took the back.
"Where are you going?" Now that he’d gotten them out, it was time he at least knew where they were headed.
"Outskirts. Underground brothel." Tang Fei didn’t hide it from him. She was the best racer in her previous life, and she didn’t mind taking twenty minutes instead of an hour to get there.
"That’s a dangerous place," Huo Wu said quietly, his face pale. He’d heard about that location several times but had never been there. It had a reputation for being utterly lawless.
"We’ll see how things turn out..." With her photographic memory working at full capacity, Tang Fei instructed, "Huo Wu, give Twilight your phone."
He handed it over without argument, and the moment Twilight received it, Tang Fei rapidly spelled out a string of coordinates. Twilight’s fingers flew across the screen, just like her momma, she’d perfected this skill, and within seconds, she had the exact location mapped.
Tang Fei’s voice dropped to something absolutely lethal. "I already told you at one time: whatever you hear or see stays with you. I don’t like betrayers. You will either learn to keep these secrets or completely vanish. Understand?"
She didn’t wait for an answer. She stepped on the gas, and the car shot forward like a bullet, racing toward the highway.
Back in the underground parking lot, Huo Ting Cheng, Huo Qi, and the other guards were settled in the car, waiting.
And waiting.
And waiting some more.
"What’s taking them this long?" Huo Ting Cheng muttered, pulling out his laptop to go through emails while he waited for her to return. He checked his inbox, responded to a few urgent messages, but his attention kept drifting back to the elevator.
"Master," Huo Qi ventured carefully, "you saw how she reacted upstairs. You’re... you might be choking her a bit."
He was worried they would start fighting again if Huo Ting Cheng didn’t ease up on the protective intensity.
Huo Ting Cheng’s eyes cut to him sharply, but he didn’t say anything. Because deep down, he knew Huo Qi was right.
He was being excessive. Possessive to the point of suffocation.
But he couldn’t help it. Not after this morning. Not after seeing her lose all the memories. Not after realizing how many people might want to hurt her simply because she was his or past grudges.
He checked his watch. They’ve been waiting fifteen minutes now.
Something was wrong.
Meanwhile, on the highway, Tang Fei was driving like a demon.
"Wow! It’s been years since I saw someone execute such a clean drift!"
"Yoooohhh... yooooh... Slow down!" Huo Wu’s voice was strained, his knuckles white as he gripped the handle above the car door.
"Mommy, you really need to get a grip!" Twilight said, though she sounded more exhilarated than frightened. "We’re already headed there. If he knows you’re missing, he’ll come find you..."
Even as she spoke, she’d noticed something concerning. Huo Wu’s phone had a tracking code embedded in it, one that would allow Huo Ting Cheng to locate him anywhere. She quickly put it on hold, disrupting the signal.
Now no one could track them. At least not immediately.
Huo Wu held the car handle so tightly that his fingers hurt. This was the first time being driven like this! It was too scary... He had never thought their gentle, sweet Missus knew how to race like a professional street driver.
They passed through a secret, dilapidated house on the outskirts, a safehouse Tang Fei remembered from her previous life. She pulled up, and they went inside quickly.
Hidden in a false panel beneath the floorboards were handguns. Advanced models, custom-made, with silencers and extended magazines.
Huo Wu’s eyes widened as he watched Tang Fei and Twilight handle the weapons with practiced ease, checking chambers, testing weights, moving like seasoned professionals.
After getting armed, they returned to the car. Huo Wu noticed how different and unique the guns were, very unique and technologically advanced. Not standard issue. Not available through normal channels.
Who exactly was his boss’s wife?
After what seemed like twenty minutes of breakneck driving, they arrived at the entrance to the brothel.
