Patra West is a little girl aged five and she just happens to be Alayna’s fourth adopted child. Alayna adopted the little girl over six months ago in a remote village in the Reqox continent when exploring the continent where Athalia village was located.

It was by sheer luck that she came across the little girl. The little girl was crying faintly while lying in the arms of a skinny woman whose body has already gone cold.

To think that the little girl’s mother died and the little girl didn’t go anywhere and just remained there, she felt sorry for her.

She didn’t know how long the little girl starved for but she knew that she wanted to take the little girl with her.

Alayna buried the dead woman and paid respects to her before taking the little girl to her village. After going through the adoption process, she named the little girl Patra and now she is her fourth child.

It took a lot of resources to nourish the little girl back to health and Alayna was quite happy seeing how intelligent Patra was. She didn’t need to hide about the fact that her mother was dead and gone.

Patra took a while to get used to her new identity and in the past two months, Patra had become accustomed to calling her mother. And with Merita and her several friends available to play with her, the house was filled with joy every day.

As Patra was old enough to attend kindergarten, the little girl was already in school and she made several friends of her own which was a huge relief.

Alayna found joy in raising these kids, she could have her own but the issue of finding a man to fall in love with and have babies with. She didn’t have time for that.

Falling in love is a hustle and with someone like her who owns a lot of properties and has a lot of secrets, she doubted if a man will approach her with pure intentions.

This world is very dangerous and everything people mostly do is for their benefit. Everyone is greedy for what she possesses and she doesn’t want to have her heart torn into pieces because she allowed a wolf in sheep’s clothing into her life and her kids.

So, adopting kids was the best choice, she won’t be lonely in the future and she can still enjoy the benefits of being a mother and a parent.

Adopting doesn’t only have advantages but drawbacks as well. She wasn’t worried much about the negative things, she was ready to face anything that comes her way in the future.

She didn’t know what the future holds really, maybe she will keep on adopting more kids and if fate wills it, she will try to fall in love. Her lifespan was quite long and she will be lying if she claims that she wasn’t interested in dating.

She was already forty-something in this world but has never been held by a man which is quite a pity. She is also human and being loved is something that she wishes for but she isn’t desperate for that though.

Having another kid at home brightened her life, Merita loves her writing so much that she spends most of her time at home locked up in her room writing.

So, the mother and daughter don’t usually spend more time together, not that she was blaming Merita for being unavailable as she is also not available most of the time.

Now that Patra is there and she needs attention, Alayna is never lonely and with several servants taking care of the house and the girls, the house is no longer cold and empty like before.

A FEW DAYS LATER

It didn’t take long before the day everyone was waiting for arrived in Athalia village. The carriages were parked neatly in several designated parking areas within the village.

Several people could be seen walking up and down in the tidy streets without a speck of dirt lying around. As every street has several rubbish bins, the residents or the guests didn’t dare loiter on the ground.

Business was especially good on this day and it affected every sector within the village and those on the outside.

At the school, those that were graduating were already seated while music was playing. There were also other students and parents watching this wonderful ceremony.

It was an exception to bring those that weren’t involved this time as Alayna wanted everyone to see what the graduation ceremony is like and what it will be like in the future.

Alayna was at the back when the ceremony started and the principal and those people in charge began to make some speeches and all that.

"It’s been an honor working here for this past year and I believe that all of you feel the same as me. Today we will be witnessing our first batch graduating which is quite an honor as we are seeing all of them at once. In the future, each school will be responsible for hosting their own graduation."

"For the ............….."

"We won’t take too much of your time, so let’s welcome the founder and owner, Ms. Alayna West to help cap our graduates this moment!" the MC loudly announced and the hall was quickly filled with loud applause.

For this wonderful ceremony, Alayna had dressed beautifully. She wasn’t wearing any robes but she wore a beautiful black dress with a lot of lace. This type of clothing was no longer a shocking thing to see in the village as the fashion and design department started to make modern clothing under the influence of Alayna.

She wore a black fascinator with a net veil that slightly hide half of her face. The five-inch black heels enveloped her feet perfectly and she looked ethereal.

[OMG! She looks heavenly!]

[I bet that we will be seeing new designs pretty soon!]

[I already see my wallet bleeding profusely.]

[I wonder where she gets all these things.]

Alayna smiled softly at the MC before facing the cheerful crowd, "thank you everyone for coming. Today is a special day and I am happy to be here. To be able to attend school and excel, is a great achievement any scholar is very proud of."

"When I opened this school, my sole purpose was to spread the diverse knowledge of how we do things to the world. As human beings, we need to continue to evolve and not latch onto old beliefs all the time. I am not looking down on them but I am just emphasizing on the evolution part."

"In the future, I want to see Niafell filled with people who can invent the unthinkable and be on par with other outworlders out there. As you already know, there are so many worlds out there and most of them are already advanced."

"We may have cultivation and so on, but in some worlds out there, what we see as a God may be considered as the lower level in some worlds. So let us not be complacent and do our best to learn and achieve something much more than our ancestors."

"Today I am very happy that some of us are graduating and will be joining the society. I don’t know whether it will be easy for our seniors to find jobs out there but I have faith that as long as you leave with that certificate which is just a piece of paper to other people here, you will be able to find one."

"To those that didn’t know what our schools are all about, please don’t forget to come tomorrow for an induction. Your chances to enroll in the school is here, so don’t let that opportunity go."

Alayna wasn’t afraid that the students won’t find a job when they go into society, the school wasn’t all about theory but practical as well. In her own world, she did a lot of theory and nearly suffered when she entered society. Alayna didn’t want the kids to suffer because of that.

Alayna’s speech was welcomed beautifully and soon the students began to be called one by one.

They started with the kindergarten side and the process didn’t take much longer. The hall was filled with whistling and ululating as parents felt so much pride seeing their babies dressed so beautifully and graduating.

And when the adults’ time arrived, the excitement was even more exaggerated but everyone had a great time.

There was some entertainment in form of singing, dancing, and reciting poems.

When the ceremony was over, the parents and their kids took their time as they took photos. Everyone had already gotten used to the antics of the village and the photos were quite popular as they were cheap.

It was different from getting a portrait drawn by master painters and so on.

Alayna was very happy to see this day passing beautifully and couldn’t wait to see more success in the future.
