With Olinda, Merita was downcast for a couple of days and so was Alayna. Alayna even started to think of adopting another child, she could afford them, and the more the merrier.

’Maybe this can be done.’

Merita had already packed all the staff she wanted to take with her to Athalia village. She didn’t forget her books, in order to make friends one needs to be generous as well.

Just because Merita was leaving, it didn’t mean that Alayna won’t be coming back to the Dark Forest, so the servants didn’t need to go with them but stay to maintain the house.

Alayna then checked all the shops first before returning to Athalia. Merita was very excited seeing the village that was now different from when she came, it was full of people and she couldn’t wait to meet others.

Alayna showed Merita her room and the little girl fell in love with the castle immediately. As for living at the school dormitories, that was a complete big NO. why should she leave such a big castle to share a room with others?

The village was bustling with people, in three days the institution will be opening and all students that were accepted will be starting school. How can they not be happy?

Alayna became busy again, Merita began to get herself acquainted with the village and with the servants who guarded her, it didn’t take long before everyone knew that Merita was the lady boss’s daughter and she will be attending school with all of them.

They were all very excited and couldn’t wait to befriend her. Since the mother is amazing like this, then doesn’t this mean that the daughter is also the same?

While everyone was trying their best to get into Merita’s good books, Alayna went to check on the hotel that was being constructed. Since she didn’t remove the fog, nobody knew what was going on there.

The hotel is a ten-story skyscraper with nine floors having bedroom suites, the first floor is the restaurant and the ground floor is the reception and the kitchen.

The ninth and tenth floors have V.I.P suites and each floor has four suites. The other seven floors have ten suites each, with each suite having a bedroom, a bathroom ensuite, and a living room with a TV, couch, and a mini fridge.

The V.I.P suites have two bedrooms with bathroom ensuites each and a living room as well. These suites were going to be a bit more expensive than other hotels and only those that were willing to spend will live in her hotel.

In order to take advantage of the traffic in the village, some businessmen already opened some inns in the village, so the problem of housing was a bit settled to some extent.

Alayna issued another recruitment notice for the hotel and concentrated on the school.

The opening day finally arrived and, on this day, a spectacular scene could be seen.

Every student from kindergarten to tertiary had to wear a uniform, this was compulsory. Alayna had put a lot of effort into the uniform designs so all students looked very pretty and unique.

For kindergarten, the boys wore maroon shorts or trousers depending on what the parent decides for the child, a checked maroon, and a white shirt with black sneakers.

For the girls, they all wore maroon tunic dresses with the same shirt as the boys and all shirts had the emblem of the kindergarten school.

For primary school, the color of the uniform is light blue; light blue tunics, blue socks, white blouses, blue ties, and black shoes for the girls. Khaki trousers or shorts, blue shirts, blue socks, striped blue and white ties, and black shoes for the boys.

For high school, the boys wore grey trousers or shorts, white shirts, green striped ties, grey socks, green blazers, and black shoes. For girls, green tunics with white shirts, green striped ties, white socks, green blazers, and black shoes.

For tertiary, the boys wore black/blue jeans/formal trousers, black/white t-shirts, and colored shirts depending on which faculty they belong to, for example, a maroon shirt for engineering, a green shirt for pharmacology, and so on.

There was much more freedom in tertiary than in other lower levels. And this type of fashion was something that only Alayna could provide at the moment but she was also thinking of finding some dressmakers that can make uniforms to lessen the trouble of doing everything herself.

As for other tricky clothes, she will see what to do or maybe teach a few dressmakers on how to sew them.

Merita’s age qualified her to be a high school student and she was currently in her second year, making her the youngest in her batch.

Parents sent their children to school on the first day and Alayna wasn’t an exception. All the students and teachers all gathered in a huge hall where Alayna was going to make a speech.

Merita already made some friends, so she was busy talking and having fun with them.

The grand opening started and the students and the parents listened attentively to the principal for a long time before Alayna went on the podium.

"I can see that everyone is happy here, to be honest, I am also happy. To see so many of you here, I already see a brighter kingdom, continent, and world in overall. I don’t have many things to say but I want to encourage all of you to study hard, listen to your teachers and parents and strive for the best."

"Don’t wait for the teachers or parents to push you to read or work hard. Know your goals and the dreams that you want to achieve and let them motivate you, let it drive you so that you will reach that point that you wish for."

"The school will have a reward and punishment system. I hope that everyone will only get rewarded and not get punished. You have all received the booklet with the school rules, please abide by them and don’t cause anyone any trouble. There are so many people out there who wish to enroll but couldn’t and they are all waiting for you to make a mistake and get pushed out. So, keep that in mind."

"I wish you happy learning, studying hard, making some friends, and being harmonious with each other. I wish you all the best!"

The crowd applauded as soon as Alayna was done and watched as she went down to join the Principal and some V.I.P guests who had been invited on this special day.

It didn’t take long before the ceremony came to an end and everyone began to go to their respective schools. Parents sent their kids to kindergarten and coaxed them to stay behind.

Primary school students were much better and didn’t cause a fuss. High school students didn’t even need any monitoring, after all, they were all teenagers and considered mature. Some of them were already at the age where they can even get married, so there was no need to make any fuss.

Tertiary students were the real adults and they couldn’t wait to start studying and earning money. Most of them already have families, so they were aware of the bigger picture.

Among the students that managed to enroll at the institution were some royal kids and it wasn’t all of them that applied that got accepted. Some bigshots kids also got accepted but most of the kids were commoners as well.

The problem with rich kids is that they are too egoistic and their pride makes them too arrogant and thanks to this character, they failed to get accepted.

Her school didn’t accept any bribes, so the kids had to rely on their luck and aptitude.

To be honest, the number of students that were accepted was only one-quarter of the full capacity, so there was still room for more students. It’s just that Alayna didn’t want to rush things, she will start the second round of recruiting teachers and in the following term, she may take more students in again.

With the school open and another recruitment notice out, Alayna began to concentrate on the hotel recruitment and it was busy for her.

As for the school, she trusted the old man, the principal, so she left the recruitment for the teacher to the man.

With the school open, Alayna was finally free to concentrate on some other things she didn’t dare start with because of the pressure she had with the village.

Alayna’s days were filled with interviews, listening to Merita talking about school and her friends. She also had meetings with other bigshots who wanted to do business with her, get their kids enrolled at school, or rent a house.

The business was also blooming; it wasn’t her own shop alone but other shops that were operating in the village. In such a short time, her village had become a well-known tourist attraction spot and with the emergence of the first magazine volume, Athalia village fame soared.

The future was looking very beautiful and Alayna wanted to share this with her beloved ones.
