Transmigrated to Another World and Doted on by Everyone!-Chapter 222: Snowfall and Forever (The End)
"If you don’t want to die, get lost." Ding Yixin’s gaze was icy cold and his voice carried no inflection at all.
Under Ding Yixin’s stare, cold sweat seeped down the man’s back and his legs went weak.
It felt as though he had been locked onto by some terrifying creature, like a venomous snake and he couldn’t stop his body from trembling.
Because Ding Yixin’s tone did not sound like he was joking in the slightest.
The man had a strong intuition that if he stayed any longer, he might actually lose his life here.
So before he could finish whatever he was about to say, he fled in panic and his retreating figure looking utterly pathetic.
Left standing there, Rong Xingyu tugged at the corner of Ding Yixin’s clothes and called out to him in a coquettish tone, "Husband."
Only then did Ding Yixin withdraw his gaze.
When he looked back at Rong Xingyu again, his eyes instantly softened.
Rong Xingyu spread out his palm, held his fingers together, and curled them toward himself a few times, signaling for Ding Yixin to place something into his hand.
"Where’s the thing?"
Ding Yixin looked at Rong Xingyu’s little face, so matter-of-fact as he casually ordered him around, and couldn’t help but smile helplessly.
He placed a small packet into Rong Xingyu’s palm.
It was a bag of pigeon feed that Ding Yixin had just gone to buy.
Worried that Rong Xingyu might get tired from walking too much, Ding Yixin had told him to wait where he was.
But the moment he came back, he saw someone striking up a conversation with Rong Xingyu and even inviting him to "give it a try"?
Ding Yixin: "..."
He looked at Rong Xingyu who was holding the feed and running off excitedly to feed the pigeons, his eyes filled with boundless indulgence.
"Little troublemaker," Ding Yixin said softly.
Then he also strode over in that direction.
There were flocks of white pigeons in the square and perhaps because they were used to being fed, every single one of them was extremely friendly.
The moment they saw the familiar packaging in Rong Xingyu’s hands, many pigeons were already flapping their wings and flying over.
The bolder ones even landed directly on Rong Xingyu’s shoulder.
Rong Xingyu: "!!!"
Rong Xingyu’s body stiffened abruptly, his heartbeat quickening.
Yet he didn’t dare make any big movements, afraid of startling the white pigeon perched on his shoulder.
All he could do was lower his voice and call out excitedly, "Husband! Husband!"
When he saw Ding Yixin look over, Rong Xingyu’s lips curved up high.
"Look, pigeons~"
Ding Yixin smiled as he raised the camera in his hand, capturing this harmonious scene of the youth and the white pigeons.
"It’s okay, Yuyu. Even if you speak a little louder, it won’t be scared away," Ding Yixin said gently.
Hearing this, Rong Xingyu nodded and opened the packet in his hands.
He grabbed a small handful of feed and then spread his palm flat.
Very quickly, a white pigeon flew over and landed steadily on Rong Xingyu’s wrist.
Feeling the light pecking against his palm, Rong Xingyu felt a little ticklish and couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh.
Many passersby, upon seeing this beautiful and heartwarming scene, couldn’t help but stop and pulling out their phones to record it.
The flock of white pigeons in the square had never been this docile before.
Yet now they were all gathered obediently around the youth, as if trying to please him.
The black haired and black eyed youth wore an increasingly serene smile, looking almost like an angel.
And standing beside him was a tall handsome man.
The man was watching the youth with his eyes openly filled with deep affection and indulgence.
Perhaps the two of them merely standing there together was more captivating than even a film shot by the world’s finest director.
After feeding the pigeons, Ding Yixin held Rong Xingyu’s wrist and carefully wiped his hands with a wet tissue.
Rong Xingyu lowered his lashes, the gentle smile on his face not yet fading.
Once he finished wiping, Ding Yixin naturally took Rong Xingyu’s hand into his own, their fingers interlacing tightly together.
For this honeymoon trip, they had chosen this historic town.
Hand in hand like this, they strolled along the foreign streets, accompanied by the melodious sound of a violin.
As they walked, Rong Xingyu unconsciously leaned closer against Ding Yixin.
Suddenly, he felt a trace of coolness brush against his eyelashes.
Rong Xingyu lifted his head, only to discover that snowflakes had begun to drift down from the sky at some unknown moment.
Just now, a mischievous snowflake had landed on Rong Xingyu’s eyelashes.
Ding Yixin held Rong Xingyu’s hand and tucked it into the pocket of his overcoat to keep it warm.
Rong Xingyu used his free hand to catch the snowflakes dancing all over the sky.
He suddenly recalled a sentence he had once seen online.
"I really want to become snow," Rong Xingyu said softly, "so that I could fall onto sir’s shoulder."
Ding Yixin let out a low chuckle and leaned close to Rong Xingyu’s ear. "You are the most dazzling star," he said, "and you already fell onto my heart long ago."
Rong Xingyu made a small sound in response and the corners of his lips couldn’t help but lift upward.
Because of the sudden snowfall, many of the vendors who had set up stalls along the roadside began packing up and heading back.
Rong Xingyu seemed to notice something. He said "wait a moment," then jogged off alone toward a certain direction.
Ding Yixin stood where he was, watching as Rong Xingyu stopped in front of an elderly woman.
The old woman was dressed plainly and looked as though life had not been easy for her.
In front of her was a flower basket filled with flowers she had grown herself.
The smile in Ding Yixin’s eyes deepened.
He watched Rong Xingyu bend down, hand some money to the old woman, then turn around and walk back toward him with an armful of fiery red flowers.
Rong Xingyu held the flowers out in front of Ding Yixin.
His eyes curved into crescents as he said brightly, "These are for you."
Ding Yixin looked at the flowers and raised his brows slightly in surprise. "Lisianthus?"
"Isn’t it a coincidence?" Rong Xingyu said with a smile. "I saw that grandma wasn’t able to sell all her flowers and wanted to help out. I didn’t expect her to be selling lisianthus."
They were the flowers he and Ding Yixin loved most.
Ding Yixin bent down and placed a kiss on Rong Xingyu’s lips before taking the flowers from him.
"Thank you. I really like them."
Rong Xingyu lifted a hand to touch the petals, smiling as he said, "Do you remember that school anniversary celebration before? I played the mermaid, and after the play ended, you gave me a bouquet just like this."
Ding Yixin continued holding Rong Xingyu’s hand as they slowly walked toward where they were staying.
"And there was also a little card that said, ’You will never love in vain,’" Rong Xingyu said, swinging Ding Yixin’s hand lightly. "You did that on purpose back then, didn’t you?"
When Ding Yixin nodded, Rong Xingyu deliberately let out an exaggerated gasp.
"Wow~ That was such a deep scheme."
Before Ding Yixin could react, Rong Xingyu himself couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
"Setting aside the very beginning, when did you start liking me in this lifetime?" Rong Xingyu asked curiously. "At the school anniversary?"
Ding Yixin squeezed Rong Xingyu’s hand. "Earlier."
"The sports meet?"
"Guess again."
Rong Xingyu said in surprise, "Even earlier than that? Then when was it?"
Ding Yixin only smiled without answering.
In his mind, a scene from long ago suddenly surfaced.
A delicate looking boy with red eyes pushing open the door of a barbershop and stepping out.
Those eyes were clearer than every blue sky Ding Yixin had seen in his entire life.
With just one look, he was never able to look away again.
...
When Rong Xingyu woke up in the morning, he discovered that he was not in a familiar embrace.
He blinked his sleepy eyes and mumbled softly, calling out, "Husband?"
But he did not hear that deep, magnetic voice in response.
Then Rong Xingyu lifted his hand and reached to the side.
Sure enough, the bedsheets there were already cold.
It was obvious that the person beside him had been gone for quite some time.
Rong Xingyu hugged the blanket and suddenly sat upright.
However, when he looked around, he could not find Ding Yixin anywhere in the room.
Rong Xingyu couldn’t help but frown.
He punched the blanket in his hands and complained softly, "Where did you go..."
This was the first time since they had officially started living together that Rong Xingyu had opened his eyes and not seen Ding Yixin by his side.
Even if there was something urgent, Ding Yixin would always wait for Rong Xingyu to wake up, plant a kiss on his forehead, and only then go take care of it.
But today...
Rong Xingyu suddenly felt a little wronged.
They had only been married for just over three years. It wasn’t even close to the so called "seven-year itch."
Could it be that Dr. Ding was already tired of it? Had their feelings faded just like that?
Rong Xingyu couldn’t help but start letting his thoughts run wild.
Over these years, under Ding Yixin’s constant indulgence day after day, Rong Xingyu had been spoiled into developing a bit of harmless willfulness.
From time to time, he would even throw a small tantrum at Ding Yixin.
Sometimes even his brothers couldn’t stand to watch it anymore, but Ding Yixin accepted all of Rong Xingyu’s little moods gladly, even finding them extremely cute.
Seeing Ding Yixin act this way, Rong Zhenqiao and the others simply stopped interfering, letting this obnoxiously affectionate couple continue being lovey dovey on their own.
And so, this time, Rong Xingyu had merely woken up to find that Ding Yixin was not beside him.
Coupled with a bit of morning grumpiness, he immediately began to feel aggrieved, humming and sulking to himself.
He didn’t even want to put on his slippers. While pouting, he walked straight toward the bathroom.
Then Rong Xingyu collided head on with someone inside the bathroom.
When Rong Xingyu clearly saw the person in front of him, his eyes widened involuntarily, and his previously puckered lips opened into an "o" shape.
There was no sign of Ding Yixin in the bathroom. Instead, standing there was a delicate-featured little boy, staring back at Rong Xingyu in mutual shock.
Rong Xingyu: "???"
Where did this child come from?
How could there be a child in his bathroom?!
Seeing Rong Xingyu’s stunned expression, a trace of panic flashed through the little boy’s eyes.
But he still raised a hand to cover his mouth and coughed twice awkwardly.
Then the little boy opened his mouth and directly called out, "Yuyu."
Rong Xingyu’s mind instantly descended into chaos.
While being turned over and over, Rong Xingyu could still hear Ding Yixin asking softly by his ear which version of him he liked more.
Rong Xingyu cried and panted at the same time, while thinking to himself.
Mm, it seemed that this grown up version was still better.
The End.
