Chapter 34: Chasing after his wife.

Inside his second office, in a business building that was in the middle of the city, Timothy reported to Elias who was standing by the window. The report was covering the delivery of exotic herbs which had gone missing at the airport.

"Put Zedekiah on it." Elias instructed. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

Timothy’s report was finished, and yet the assistant refused to leave. He seemed hesitant, like he had something to say but he was afraid to say it.

Elias glanced at him and snapped coldly, "Just blurt it out already! Stop acting like I will hunt and bite you in the next ten seconds."

Timothy smiled and said, "My lord, its about the decision to send Miss Ali away with the lady. Are you sure that it is the right one?"

Elias looked at his assistant keenly. "Did my mother put you up to this?"

Timothy shook his head, his nose twitching nervously. "Not at all. It’s just that the lady was not too kind to the children a week ago and now suddenly she is nice and polite and loving. Aren’t you worried that she is putting on an act? Aren’t you worried that Miss Ali will be mistreated?" He could ask such questions directly because he was not just Elias’s secretary but also, his sort of closest friend.

Elias replied easily, "That is why I sent guards, Ali’s nannies and servants. Each and every one of them will be my eyes and ears. I also plan to visit regularly, they are just thirty to fifty minutes away by flying ship. I can visit daily if I wish."

Timothy crossed his legs and the file in his hands. With more curiosity, he brought up another question he was curious about. "Why did you let the lady leave? Truly?"

Elias moved away from the window and sat down in his chair. "Because, I made certain promises to her when I convinced her to have the twins and marry me. I promised her wealth and I have given her that in plenty. But the rest of the things I promised....." he shook his head. "I failed her. I failed myself because I broke my promises.

I don’t have a right to imprison her by my side just because she is the mother of my children. Besides, now that she has made up her mind to divorce me, sooner or later she was bound to leave. I think it’s better for her to leave while we are still cordial. It will make co-parenting easier."

Timothy nodded. As expected of his lord, all of his reasons were logical. There was nothing emotional like love in the equation.

"So, where does this leave you with the void of lady of the fox tribe?" Timothy leaned forward. "Sooner or later, your mother is going to start shopping around for replacements. I can have a list of eligible fox beast women on your desk by morning. If you don’t mind crossing species, I can include those from other tribes. If you like them human, I can find out as well."

Elias’s face darkened. A single tail swung out in agitation. "Timothy, it seemed like you don’t have enough work to do if you have time to match make. In that case, compiled all the information the intelligence network has gathered this year and compare it to what we had last year. Make an analysis on how these events will affect the coming year or future."

Timothy was dismayed. "But it takes months and a whole team of thirty people to do that. How can I do it alone?"

"Weren’t you the one who wanted to compile a list?" Elias asked him.

Timothy squeezed his eyes. "Of women! I am staying out of your business. If you want to die alone, that is your business."

Elias smirked. "In that case, you don’t have to do it. But, I need you to buy two more of those cottages surrounding Sienna’s. The three we bought are not enough, I want her place enveloped from every side. If there is no grocery store near by, open one."

"Open every kind of store that sells everything the lady and little miss could need." Timothy said, writing it down in his notebook.

Elias was glad to have an understanding assistant. It saved him from spelling out what he needed, one thing at a time. Just as he was about to say something, his phone rang. When he saw the identity of the caller, his expression immediately changed. He picked up and asked coldly, "Your highness, is there something I can do for you? Have you been attacked or are you simply bored?"

He listened silently for thirty seconds and replied, "Okay, I will make sure we attend."

After hanging up, his expression solemn, "This mouse beast bitch issue is really a pain in the ass. Sienna and I need to go to the royal palace tomorrow and meet with the king and leader of the mouse tribe. Apparently, someone called his wife a mouse beast bitch while she was shopping. Now, she is demanding for some kind of justice."

Timothy replied worriedly, "This could be the king’s scheme. Come on, of all people to be called ’mouse beast bitch’ it just so happens to be the lady of the mouse tribe!"

Elias clutched his phone. "I know. But, I cannot avoid it even if I wanted to. We both knew that she would eventually have to apologize for her words."

Timothy snorted. "Apologize! Lady Sienna does not look like she wants to apologize. I am afraid that if you take her with you, she will only make things worse. Maybe, she will even hit lady mouse with a pan and knock out her teeth."

Elias sighed. Sienna used to be simple, now she was unpredictable. She was allowed to go wild in this city, but in the royal palace, it could not happen.

Suddenly, Timothy started laughing.

"What is funny?" Elias asked.

Timothy rose slowly, saying, "Lady Sienna just left and you are going to have to go to her new home to talk and prepare for that visit to the palace." He laughed softly, "It sort of makes it seem like you are chasing after her. You can’t live without her. That is how it happens in the movies."

"Well, this is not a movie." Elias answered. "Prepare the ship, we are going after my wife."
