Transmigrated: Stealing the CEO husband-Chapter 44: I’m not lightweight
Luiss let go of her.
Ariana quickly shifted several steps away from him and stared at him like a terrified dear.
Elias’ warning rang in her head.
’We shouldn’t mingle with the types of President Luiss’
He was right, but what did she gotta do when the system pushed her?
Right now, she had planned to complete system missions without much of a personal entanglement.
Luiss pinched the bridge of his nose as if in regret. "Ms. Grey, I’m sorry." He said. "I should not have pushed you. But when it comes to you, I seem to lose my reasons."
He seemed to be truly regretful.
Ariana waved her hands before him. "You definitely do not need to compensate me."
"But I’ll."
Ariana; "..."
But then she thought of it. "Actually, I can think of a way. Remember the Château Margaux, the red wine bottle we won via our French subsidiaries. I hope President Luiss still has it in his occupancy. "
"Yes, do you want that?"
"Of course, on our way to Tokyo this time, we can enjoy it together."
"Who knew Ms. Grey had an Oenophile side to herself."
At this, Ariana smiled. She seemed to have eased up by now. "You have just started getting to know me."
....
During the evening.
Ariana approached the private jet from a distance, the evening sun casting a golden glow over its sleek, streamlined fuselage. Polished to a mirror finish, the jet’s body reflected the world around it—runway lights flickering like stars, the silhouettes of palm trees swaying in the warm breeze. Its engines, though silent for now, hum with potential, promising speed, power, and exclusivity. A red carpet leads to the open airstair, where a uniformed attendant waited with a knowing smile, holding a crystal flute of chilled champagne.
As Ariana stepped inside with Luiss, the world transformed. Plush carpeting absorbed each footstep, muting the outside world. Soft, ambient lighting batheed the cabin in a golden glow, accentuating the fine leather seats—hand-stitched, reclining with effortless grace. The scent of aged wood and fresh orchids lingers in the air. A bar, stocked with rare vintages and top-shelf spirits, gleamed under recessed lighting, while a discreet steward stood by, ready to cater to any whim.
Further in, a spacious lounge area featured a curved sofa, its cashmere thrown casually draped over one arm. A touch-screen panel awaits, controlling everything from lighting to temperature to an entertainment system tuned to the finest classical music. A doorway at the far end leads to a private suite, where Egyptian cotton sheets and silk pillows promise rest at 40,000 feet.
Here, time slowed down. The noise of the world faded. This was more than travel—it was the epitome of luxury, of freedom, of arrival before departure.
Ariana couldn’t have expected such luxury.
As the jet took off, a deep hum could be heard that settled into a deep vibration.
"It’s your first time on a jet. Correct?" Luiss asked as he asked the bar attendant to bring the wine Ariana requested.
"Of course. I could I ever afford to enjoy such luxury"
"Well, make it a habit from now onwards,"
Ariana didn’t know if he really meant those words. After all, men were so. From humble to elite, they would try their best, use flattery and gifts to get into a woman’s pants. They would use any tactic to lure her in.
But Luiss was the male lead. Male leads are men who honour their words. Men of character.
As Luiss took a sniff of the wine Château d’Yquem, he could detect its complex aroma. Ripe blackcurrants, plums, and cherries. With an undertone of violets and roses. Subtle hints of Cedar, tobacco, and vanilla.
He took a sip, experiencing silky and refined tannins. A velvety mouthfeel leaving behind an aftertaste of lingering essence of dark fruit and subtle oak.
"Not bad," he commented, swirling the wine in the transparent glass while assessing Ariana’s expression.
"Of course, it gotta be best. Gifted by France Embassy after all." Ariana replied, recalling how the male lead and the female lead had enjoyed the wine under a starry sky, a summer night in New York.
Just as Luiss left for the toilet, Ariana summoned the sleeping potion she had won from the previous tasks via the system. She downed its contents in his wine.
When he came back, he was greeted by a smiling Ariana. His wine was also resting at the place where he had left.
Nothing out of the ordinary.
He made his way back and sipped the wine, detecting nothing out of the ordinary in the taste.
A few moments later.
Ariana supported Luiss as she escorted him to the private suite.
"I just had two glasses. It’s impossible. I’m not lightweight..." he mumbled.
"Right Right. Preaisend Luiss is definitely not lightweight. It’s the wine fault. "
"Could it have been spiked?"
"President Luiss can send for tests to know whether it was spiked or not" Ariana petted his back, leading him to the bed.
The good thing about system gadgets was that they were out of this world, and hence undetectable.
Once they were close to the bed, Luiss fell at once. His arm heavily resting upon Ariana, dragged her down with him.
They both occupied a small corner of a rather luxuriously big bed. Ariana tried to pry his hands off her, but he had engulfed her into a deadly grip. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
After trying a dozen times she hear she heard him mumble. "Secretary Grey... why did you run away from me?" He sounded pretty drunk.
Fuck! It was a sleeping potion, not getting deadly drunk potion. Perhaps the combination of poton and wine created a different effect. President Luiss was behaving as if he had neat shots of vodka, having downed half the bottle.
"I’m not running. If it might have escaped your keen senses, I’m merely trying to get enough space to breathe."
Ariana struggled once again she was pulled back coming face tk face with a drowsy Luiss.
