Transmigrated Into the World of Magic and Swords-Chapter 83: Returning to Nightshire City
Chapter 83: Returning to Nightshire City
After waiting for around an hour, it was finally Ren’s turn to pray to the Goddess Theia.
Priestess Emilia guided him to the altar before finally standing behind him, putting some distance between them.
Ren was currently in front of a big statue that was around three meters tall.
The statue depicted a beautiful woman wearing a dress and standing gracefully. Her right hand was holding a beautiful staff and a magnificent crown was placed on her head.
Even though it was only a statue, it emitted a holy aura.
Ren felt calm and safe when he was close to the statue as if he was under the protection of Goddess Theia.
’Does Goddess Theia look exactly like this?’
Instead of praying immediately, he kept staring at the statue because it was his first time seeing such a statue.
Not only did the statue emit a holy aura, but he even felt like the statue was alive because he felt like he was not standing before a statue but in front of a goddess.
[Host, are you not going to pray to Goddess Theia?]
’Ah, right! I forgot about that.’
He finally came to his senses.
’But what should I say?’
He suddenly remembered the conversation between Daniel and Henry in the restaurant yesterday.
He pressed his palms together and shut his eyes.
’Goddess Theia, please give me the light element. I will use it to help others and peo-’
He stopped his words halfway because he felt uneasy when he was about to lie to the Goddess Theia.
’Actually, I want the light element so that I can make health potions. I will use the health potions to make me rich and save my life when I’m in danger.’
He decided to tell the truth.
’Of course, I don’t mind giving them to others, but I will only give health potions to people I care and people I consider to be good. Otherwise, I will pretend as if I don’t have a health potion.’
Even though his chances of getting the light element became smaller, he did not feel sad because, from his point of view, it was better than lying.
’That is the reason why I visit your temple, Goddess Theia.’
Shortly after that, light enveloped his body.
Goddess Theia granted his wish because he did not lie when he told her the reason why he wanted to have the light element.
He also said he would give health potions to people he considered good, so he met the requirements to get the light element from her.
Priestess Emilia, who was standing behind Ren, smiled softly.
’Congratulation, young man.’
She knew the reason why his body was enveloped by light because she had seen it several times.
[Congratulation, Host. You have a light element now. Do you want to see your window status?]
Ren slowly opened his eyes.
’Hmm? Goddess Theia granted my wish?’
He did not feel any change in his body, so he decided to check his window status.
----
Affinities: Ice, Lightning, light.
----
A soft smile spread across his face when he saw the Affinities bar.
’Thank you, Goddess Theia.’
Ren raised his head to look at the statue of the Goddess Theia.
"Congratulation, young man." Priestess Emilia smiled softly when Ren approached her. "I hope you don’t use light magic to harm others."
"Thank you for allowing me to pray to the Goddess Theia." Ren responded as he smiled.
Then, the duo left the altar because there were still many people queuing to pray to Goddess Theia.
Right after Ren walked out of the Prayer Hall, he was greeted by Liam.
However, they only chatted for several seconds because it was Liam’s turn to pray to the Goddess Theia.
Ten minutes later, Liam walked out of the Prayer Hall with a gloomy face.
Like what Ren had guessed, he failed to get the light element.
Liam was not a mage, so this was to be expected since warriors could not use magic like mages.
"Don’t be sad." Ren cheered him up. "How about we go to the most famous restaurant and buy everything on the menu? It’s on me today."
"Really?" Liam’s sad face turned happy. "Then let’s go to the most famous restaurant now. I want to eat king lobster and chicken."
Ren’s face broke into a smile when he saw his happy face.
’As I expected, food can make him happy instantly.’
----
"Ren, what are your plans for tomorrow?" Liam, who was eating a chicken, inquired.
"I plan to go to Nightshire City tomorrow." Ren had obtained the treasure and the light element, so it was time to return and relax.
"Nightshire City? Why?" Liam asked curiously.
"I live in Nightshire City." Ren said he had booked a hotel in Nightshire City and it was valid until next month. "Where do you live?"
"Forest." Liam’s face turned sad because he suddenly remembered his hard time in the forest. "I will go to Nightshire City with you."
"Then, let’s buy a carriage after this. We will go to Nightshire City tomorrow morning." Ren responded.
"Sure." Liam answered.
After they were full, they left the restaurant to buy a carriage.
The carriage they bought did not look luxurious from the outside. It looked like an ordinary carriage pulled by two horses.
However, anyone would be surprised after entering the carriage because the inside was big.
They could even put a bed in the carriage and still have some empty space.
Their carriage was equipped with space magic, so it looked small from the outside but big on the inside.
"Ren, the sun is about to set, so let’s find a place to rest." Liam uttered.
"Sure." He agreed instantly.
After they found a good place to rest, they built a tent and made a bonfire.
As Liam was grilling chickens, Ren tried to make a health potion.
Unlike usual, a look full of hope could be seen on his face when he infused his magic into the formation.
It was his first time creating a health potion after getting a light element, so he really hoped the results would be of high grade.
"Sigh..." Ren let out a deep sigh when his system said it was a middle-grade health potion.
’I’m already at 3-star, yet my mana is not enough to make a high-grade health potion.’
He let another deep sigh.
[Host, maybe you can make a high-grade health potion if you add twenty 2-star beast cores.]
’Twenty 2-star beast cores?’
He had twenty 2-star beast cores with light element in his space ring, so a desire to try to make another health potion arose within him.
’Should I replenish my mana?’
His mana was not enough to make another potion, so the thought of replenishing his mana popped up in his mind.
’No, no, no.’
He shook his head when he remembered the price of replenishing his mana to full.
’I will just try again tomorrow. We still need six more days to reach Nightshire City, so I have plenty of time.’
He rose to his feet and walked toward the bonfire.
"What’s wrong, Ren?" Liam asked curiously.
"My mana is not enough to make a high-grade health potion." Ren responded.
"Then just add several beast cores with light affinity next time." Liam uttered.
"I plan to do that tomorrow." He spoke.
"Here, eat it." Liam said as he gave Ren a whole chicken.
Ren took the chicken and consumed it.
