And now you’ve got the nerve to ask about them? Do you really think they’ll care about you? Ha! Dream on!" the girl said arrogantly.

Luciel found their voices familiar, and when he heard Treyton’s name, his curiosity piqued.

When he looked toward the commotion, he saw that it was Ava—the spoiled girl he hadn’t seen since arriving at the North Base—and Frey, who, according to Treyton’s friends, was once considered Treyton’s so-called first love.

Luciel didn’t leave and continued listening to their conversation, just like a few others who were also standing nearby, quietly listening to Ava and Frey’s argument.

"It’s not like that. Please don’t slander me. I never did anything like that," Frey said, his voice low and sorrowful. "I only asked about them because we were schoolmates back then. I just wanted to know if they’re still in good health. After all, it’s rare to see anyone survive in times like these."

Ava scoffed. "Oh please, keep pretending. If you’re so concerned, why don’t you go check on your other poor classmates instead? Why are you asking about my brother and brother Treyton first?"

Her tone sharpened as she continued, her voice loud enough to draw the attention of a few bystanders. "And if it really was just a harmless visit, then why have you been loitering around our community for so long? Every time I go out for a drive, there you are—lingering like a pest."

"If you weren’t such an eyesore, do you think I’d even waste my time stopping my car to talk to someone like you?" she sneered.

"I already know how fake you are. Don’t think I didn’t notice the way you used to insult others back then. Even though I was very young at the time, I still remember you. You’re shameless."

"Sure, I can understand you trying to seduce Brother Treyton—he likes men, and everyone knows that.

But you’re even trying to go after my brother? No one even knows if he likes men or women, yet here you are already scheming."

"Stop trying to climb above your station. Don’t show up in front of Brother Treyton and my brother ever again." Her expression twisted with disdain. "Brother Treyton already has someone—a person who’s obviously more powerful than you.

I don’t even like that guy, but at least he’s better than you. And Brother Treyton seems to like him a lot, so you don’t stand a chance."

"As for my brother, he’s not even in the north base right now. Don’t bother looking for him. And even if he does come back one day, whether he brings home a brother-in-law or sister-in-law, it’ll have nothing to do with you."
