Transmigrated into Another Apocalyptic World (BL)-Chapter 286 - 285: Seeing Ava and Frey
Chapter 286: Chapter 285: Seeing Ava and Frey freewёbnoνel-com
Most of those who had awakened their superpowers certainly wouldn’t want to fall behind others.
They also knew that they would benefit more after they became stronger.
So, those who had been hiding their abilities due to the lack of benefits will likely now come forward and register as ability users.
The base also has a decent reputation when it comes to treating people with superpowers.
Since there haven’t been any rumors of mistreatment or experimentation, those with abilities would likely feel more at ease and be more willing to register.
Some ability users might still hide their abilities because of their doubts.
Those who remain hiding their abilities might have some friends with some of those participating in the training of the military. Those friends might be willing to share what they learned from the military.
But others surely won’t be willing to just share what they learned with others because they also had to pay zombie crystals to the military.
They will probably be willing to share what they learned if they received a payment higher than what they will pay the military.
The base was also functioning based on the contribution system, so having an ability means you will be able to get more supplies that you wanted.
So those who were hiding their abilities will likely expose their abilities soon.
The base also showed the zombie crystals, so a lot of people who wanted to have more supplies and have the ability to go outside will certainly go outside to gather more zombie crystals.
Even those who were unwilling to go out and kill zombies will probably be more willing to kill those zombies because of the zombie crystals.
Those ability users who went to train would also know the proper use of zombie crystals, so they will certainly be more proactive in cleaning up zombies outside because it will strengthen them.
If all of them were more proactive in killing zombies instead of avoiding them when going outside, then it would be good in the long run.
At least the number of zombies that would evolve to a higher level would be reduced.
The base indeed announced the strengthening of the superpowers of those ability users and also announced the usefulness of zombie crystals.
But they didn’t announce that they could actually detect the abilities of others. Well, the base probably wanted to train those who already knew that they had superpowers so that they wouldn’t be too busy.
The base will probably check if the rest of the residents of the base have abilities after training those people who already knew that they were ability users.
Luciel didn’t think about it any further and simply started walking back to their community.
He hadn’t seen anything worth buying, he had already walked far enough, and he had heard everything he wanted to know.
But as he neared the community, Luciel heard the loud voice of a girl clearly arguing with someone.
"Pretentious!"
"What are you talking about? How can you say something like that?" a man responded, as if deeply hurt by the accusation.
"Don’t think I don’t know how you pretended to be kind just to get Brother Treyton’s attention!
You even tried to get my brother’s attention back then!
My brother and Brother Treyton never even saw you as anything special—they completely ignored your existence.
And now you’ve got the nerve to ask about them? Do you really think they’ll care about you? Ha! Dream on!" the girl said arrogantly.
Luciel found their voices familiar, and when he heard Treyton’s name, his curiosity piqued.
When he looked toward the commotion, he saw that it was Ava—the spoiled girl he hadn’t seen since arriving at the North Base—and Frey, who, according to Treyton’s friends, was once considered Treyton’s so-called first love.
Luciel didn’t leave and continued listening to their conversation, just like a few others who were also standing nearby, quietly listening to Ava and Frey’s argument.
"It’s not like that. Please don’t slander me. I never did anything like that," Frey said, his voice low and sorrowful. "I only asked about them because we were schoolmates back then. I just wanted to know if they’re still in good health. After all, it’s rare to see anyone survive in times like these."
Ava scoffed. "Oh please, keep pretending. If you’re so concerned, why don’t you go check on your other poor classmates instead? Why are you asking about my brother and brother Treyton first?"
Her tone sharpened as she continued, her voice loud enough to draw the attention of a few bystanders. "And if it really was just a harmless visit, then why have you been loitering around our community for so long? Every time I go out for a drive, there you are—lingering like a pest."
"If you weren’t such an eyesore, do you think I’d even waste my time stopping my car to talk to someone like you?" she sneered.
"I already know how fake you are. Don’t think I didn’t notice the way you used to insult others back then. Even though I was very young at the time, I still remember you. You’re shameless."
"Sure, I can understand you trying to seduce Brother Treyton—he likes men, and everyone knows that.
But you’re even trying to go after my brother? No one even knows if he likes men or women, yet here you are already scheming."
"Stop trying to climb above your station. Don’t show up in front of Brother Treyton and my brother ever again." Her expression twisted with disdain. "Brother Treyton already has someone—a person who’s obviously more powerful than you.
I don’t even like that guy, but at least he’s better than you. And Brother Treyton seems to like him a lot, so you don’t stand a chance."
"As for my brother, he’s not even in the north base right now. Don’t bother looking for him. And even if he does come back one day, whether he brings home a brother-in-law or sister-in-law, it’ll have nothing to do with you."
