Chapter 335 - Everybody who said Shu Yan was unfamilial earlier had changed their tunes. (1)
Shu Jianyang was on his way to his office when he received a call from Shu Yan. He, too, was somewhat disgusted by Shu Yan’s family right about now.
“What do you think was going through their minds? Making a police report that I had committed murder. Had they no idea what kind of a person I am? Every time they come into the city, I have treated them to good food and beverages. Perhaps my being too nice to them was the reason that they have accused me of murder.” Apparently, Shu Jianyang was truly upset this time. “I am so sorry that you have parents like that.”
“One can’t choose their parents, right? Third Brother, I want to talk to you about something. See if there’s anything we can do to have them stop looking for me this way.” It wasn’t there Shu Yan was worried about them looking for her but they irked her.
“You will always be on their mind as long as you have the money.” Shu Jianyang thought about it some. “We can’t just let them keep going like this. I will take this opportunity to make a trip back to the village.”
“That will be awesome. They have too much time on hand. Had they channel their energies property, they could be making money on their own by now.” Had her brothers been good, Shu Yan would for sure help them out. Point was, these people just wanted Shu Yan to hand over her money and support like the way their parents did. Never mind about helping them, even a penny was too much to give them.
Shu Jianyang rubbed his temple. “Don’t worry. I will teach them a lesson when I return this time and make sure they would not try to pull any more stunts.” He spoke to the chauffeur and had him head over to the village instead.
Having his own car, naturally Shu Jianyang was able to arrive at the village earlier than Shu Youfu’s group. Shu Yougou, who was chilling in the courtyard, was baffled when he saw Shu Jianyang.
“What brought you back today?”
Shu Jianyang, his face long, kicked down the broom on one side.
“Is Shu Youfu back yet?”
“What’s the matter?” Old Mr. Shu ran out from the inside. This grandson of his might have a quick temper but had always been respectful to the elders. What had happened to have upset him so?
“He’s not back yet?” Shu Jianyang tightened his fists. “Did you know that Second Aunty was sick and had been in the hospital?”
“No, we haven’t heard.” Old Mrs. Shu walked out from the inside. “We hadn’t seen them for a while. I hadn’t noticed. Did they cause you trouble in the city?”
Every parent has their favorites. Unlike Lin Zixiang, who favored boys over girls, Old Mrs. Shu favored her eldest son and her youngest daughter. She would always think of them when anything good came by. In contract, Shu Youfu, being the middle child, was like a stepchild.
In many cases, the child that was least favored would be the most familial one or that they worked the hardest for their parents’ approval. Shu Youfu was the most familial one among his siblings. As such, if Shu Jianyang wanted to take care of him, his best course of action was through Old Mr. and Mrs. Shu. As long as it came from them, Shu Youfu would not be able to try anything else. If he stopped trying things, neither would Lin Zixiang, and for sure not the three brothers. Shu Jianyang’s lips curved up a little.
“Not only that. They have let it gone to their heads. They went to make a police report today that I am a murderer and had killed Shu Yan and the two children for their money. A few police came to my office today to bring me to the police station. Yes, I had been in the gang in the past but I had never killed anyone or committed any major crimes. Now I am just a regular businessman. Yet my real uncle went and accused me of murder! How am I going to keep doing business if words get out?” said Shu Jianyang angrily.
“Preposterous! Where is he now?” Old Mr. Shu was infuriated.
Shu Jianyang was the most successful one among his grandson and the Shu family would very likely have to rely on him to achieve their new, higher social status. Of course Old Mr. Shu would be infuriated when Shu Youfu almost ruined everything.
