Chapter 115 - Causing Trouble (2)

Leaving City Xi was doubtless a good decision. There was too much going on there and a lot more troubles would have come their way had they stayed. Coming to City Nan was the right decision as well. She didn’t know anyone here, but at least she was familiar with the area. Any other locations would have been even harder. As for her business? She had probably rushed into it a little bit.

She had quite a bit of money left. She could have waited till the house had finished being remodeled, settled in, and the kids were older or after she had hired a nanny before she started her own business.

Now that her boutique was already up and running, and she had already put so much work into it, naturally she couldn’t just close up shop. She would need to figure out how she could tend to her business while taking good care of her children.

She dozed off without knowing. Shu Yan woke up early in the morning and bought breakfast for the two kids before packing lunch for her daughter.

“Mom, I can get noodles at the restaurant next to my school. Their noodles are quite tasty.”

“What? Is it better than your mom’s cooking?” asked Shu Yan purposefully.

“Both are good, so you don’t need to work so hard. I can eat there as well,” said Ye Jingjing very thoughtfully.

Ah, so she didn’t want her to overexert herself. Shu Yan’s lips curved upward reflexively. “Don’t worry. Mom is not tired. Hurry up and eat. I will drop you off school after breakfast.”

After she had dropped off her two children, Shu Yan went to shop. Zhang Huaxiu and Yingying were already there organizing the clothes. Two of the temporary workers had also arrived and were helping out here and there.

“Boss lady, we are running out of these ones,” said Zhang Huaxiu after she had finished organizing the stockroom.

The ones she was talking about were the ones that Shu Yan had fought over. Shu Yan had gotten quite a few of them, but with the recent promotional activities, the clothing went particularly fast. She took a look in the stockroom. They would be fine today, but would probably run out by tomorrow.

“Okay, I understand.” Shu Yan went to the public phone and gave the driver a call. Unfortunately, he was already booked for the night and there were no extra spots. She then called the person whom she had split the ride with the other day. They told her that they would be going in two days’ time but gave her the number of a different driver.

Shu Yan called the other driver. He was home and said he was open that night. If Shu Yan wanted to go to City Hang, it would just be by herself.

The cost would be alright, but being by herself and with a driver that she had never met before, Shu Yan wasn’t bold enough for that. And it was the middle of the night.

Shu Yan thought about it for a little bit and finally gave the boss lady in City Hang a call. In addition to replenishing what she had bought from before, Shu Yan also asked the boss lady to send her some additional simple and poised new styles.

“Boss lady, I have been buying so much from you, you must give me the good ones.”

“Don’t worry. You are a VIP customer. I won’t cheat you.” The boss lady reassured her.

When she went back to her shop, she heard arguing noises coming from inside.

“What’s the matter?” Shu Yan walked inside and saw a woman yelling in front of the cash register, and there were a few other customers just standing by and watching the event unfold.

“Boss, this person said the pair of jeans she bought yesterday has a hole in it,” said Zhang Huaxiu as she showed the pair of jeans to Shu Yan.

Shu Yan took the pair of jeans from her and saw a hole the size of a thumb on it. And it was obviously made with some sharp instrument.

“I know you. You were the one who rang me up yesterday. You come take a look yourself. The pair of jeans that you have sold to me has this big hole in it. How could you sell me something like that?”

Shu Yan took a look at the woman. There were too many customers yesterday, and she couldn’t say that she remembered her.
