Transmigrated as the Stepmother of a Rebellious Heir-Chapter 223 - 138 Climbing the Tree
Chapter 223: Chapter 138 Climbing the Tree
"Eat up," Chu Huahuan wiped Wang Tianyu’s mouth clean and then led him forward, "Director, we can start the next segment now."
The director scanned the group and, seeing that all three teams were ready, had the staff bring out three identical suitcases.
"According to the rules of the show, everyone needs to organize the things you’ve brought. In front of the camera, any items that are not allowed will be taken away. You may now start packing the suitcases, with a time limit of five minutes."
As the director finished speaking, the camera crew moved in, focusing on the guests’ own suitcases.
Shu Wan had brought two, Chu Huahuan had brought six, and Zhao Yan had only one.
"Huahua, you’ve brought quite a lot of luggage; you need to hurry and pick, or you won’t be allowed to bring anything that’s left after the time is up," the director kindly reminded her upon seeing the amount of luggage Chu Huahuan had brought.
Although displeased, Chu Huahuan still opened her suitcases and began picking out the most essential items.
Wang Tianyu’s clothes, shoes, and daily necessities were all needed, and Wang Shu also required two sets of clothes. In order to bring as much of Wang Tianyu’s stuff as possible, Chu Huahuan only packed a single change of clothes for herself.
Fortunately, being early summer meant that even after packing several sets of clothes, the suitcase could still hold more.
Everything was normal at first until Wang Tianyu heard that he could not bring any of his toy cars and airplanes, and the scene completely spiraled out of control.
"I want to bring them all!" Wang Tianyu cried out and sat down on the ground, starting to weep, "I will tell Grandpa and Grandma that you threw away my toys!"
Chu Huahuan tried her best to soothe him, but Wang Tianyu was having none of it.
She looked to Wang Shu for help, and though he was quite irritated, he still squatted down beside Chu Huahuan to help coo their son, due to the presence of the cameras.
"Please be mindful of the time, everyone. Once the five minutes are up, we will start our journey up the mountain, which will take half an hour. Whoever arrives first will get to choose their house first."
As soon as the director said this, Fu Yang, who had been lazing around without haste, immediately perked up.
The steamed buns and pickles he had earlier had taught him a lesson; he certainly didn’t want to end up living in a thatched cottage.
Fu Yang had brought few items to begin with; he quickly bunched up his clothes and threw them into the suitcase, then turned to Shu Wan, "Are you done yet? Why are you dawdling so much?"
By this time, Shu Wan had just finished packing her clothes and added a black cloth bag to the suitcase, "All done."
"Let’s go."
Upon uttering these words, Shu Wan picked up the suitcase and headed off on her own.
Despite being born in an era that emphasized gender differences quite heavily, perhaps because Shu Wan had spent a long time in an academy and military camp living and eating alongside men, she was used to doing everything herself.
By the time Fu Yang realized, Shu Wan was already far ahead, carrying the suitcase by herself.
In fact, the suitcases provided by the show were already quite large, and compared to Shu Wan’s slender physique, it seemed as though they could overwhelm her.
However, Shu Wan carried the suitcase as if it were nothing more than a handbag.
[Shocked, my friend, is this the mighty Wang indeed?? I clearly saw Shu Wan pack a lot into the suitcase, yet she seems to carry it so effortlessly.]
[Did you see Lin Yang’s expression? He must also be shocked by Shu Wan’s behavior, hahaha.]
Suddenly remembering Shu Wan’s injury, Fu Yang quickly walked up to her and took the suitcase out of her hands.
Shu Wan looked at him puzzled, "What are you doing?"
"Why are you showing off your strength? Let me carry it."
"You’re not as strong as I am."
"..." Though he didn’t want to admit it, Fu Yang had to concede that his strength was indeed no match for Shu Wan’s.
"Consider it looking out for the injured then," Fu Yang said with a twitch of his mouth.
"Mm, thank you for your concern."
Since Fu Yang was willing to carry it, Shu Wan didn’t press the issue any further. She flashed him a smile, her eyes sparkling like stars.
Seeing that smile, Fu Yang’s eyes flickered, "I just want to choose a house earlier. Could you stop flattering yourself?"
[Wow, the tsundere Young Master is playing hard to get again, eh? I bet you actually wanted to look after Shu Wan.]
[Is it just me, or is anyone else focused on the faces of Shu Wan and Fu Yang? All I can say is, how can they look so outstanding.]
[Hey, you there, I think I’ve seen your comments many times before. How come after all this time, you’re still focused on their faces?]
The entrance to Ryan Town is at the foot of the mountain. From the gate to the village area lies a rugged mountain path.
Tall ancient trees and lush bamboo thrive, with the afternoon sunlight sprinkling through the leaves like sweet-scented osmanthus flowers.
