Transmigrated as Baron, Married with my Lovely Maid-Chapter 118
"NOOO ... Why...why...why...WHY? WHY? WHY??? WHY DID THIS HAPPEN...! ULRICH...! WAKE UP...! I-IT’S NOT MY FAULT...! I-I JUST WANTED TO KILL ATREUS VERMILLION...!"
"You called me?"
I took off my invisible coat so Duke Archer could see me unscathed.
Well, thanks to my self-regenerating health, the wound from Duke Archer’s damned magical arrow had healed.
I saw Duke Archer staring at me with a confused expression and his mouth hanging open.
He was pointing at Duke Archer, and from his angry expression, he still didn’t seem to fully understand what had happened to him and his son.
"Y-YOU...! WHY ARE YOU STILL ALIVE...?!" Duke Archer asked, furious and hysterical.
But he didn’t attack, concentrating on unleashing the power of his armor.
"Since the magic warp gate opened, you’ve been affected, Duke Archer. You underestimated that a small warp gate couldn’t bring someone to save me, but in reality, I can summon Zeraxion to change the game, Duke..." I replied calmly.
"ZERAXION...?! H-HOW CAN...?! HE’S IN THERE, SEALED BY KING VICTOR DRAGOMIR AND GUARDED BY MY SON...! THERE’S NO WAY HE CAN ESCAPE LIKE THAT...!"
"...in reality, you were just hit by Zeraxion’s strongest illusion spell, Duke Archer. You felt like you had ordered your elemental spirit to kill me, but that image was only clear in your mind, and in reality, the me cornered by Drakegon was Ulrich."
"HO-HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE...?! WHAT KIND OF MAGIC COULD DECEIVE ME TO THAT EXTENT...! ULRICH SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN—"
"He lost the bet, Duke Archer. Your son seems to enjoy gambling, and he lost by betting his life. If I had won his bet, I would have been free to use his soul and body for anything, including being a life shield..."
"AAAAHHHH....!"
Duke Archer, furious at the time, was now crying hysterically in front of his son’s corpse.
Even though he was still wearing that special, godly protective silver armor, I could easily kill him with my black flames because I sensed no intention of resistance from him whatsoever.
But of course, I wasn’t so shallow as to kill Duke Archer now.
If I killed Duke Archer now, King Victor Dragomir’s attention would be completely focused on me.
I had to maintain a low profile so I could build my army without King Victor Dragomir’s interference.
When the time was right, I would ensure the annihilation of King Victor Dragomir and his loyalists.
"Lord Atreus Vermillion... erase mind spells ready to started. Your call," said Zeraxion calmly, still standing quietly beside me.
I could sense a strong, blackish-purple aura emanating from him, a sign that Zeraxion was preparing to launch one of the time-dimensional magic spells he had previously tried on me: erase mind spells.
"...how far can we reset his memory, Zeraxion?" I asked.
"It could take his years of memory, depending on your request, Lord Atreus," Zeraxion replied calmly.
"...it’s too far for years. Those around him will also be suspicious. I want his memory erased the last time when he comes here."
"Understood, Lord Atreus Vermillion."
Zeraxion’s blackish-purple aura grew stronger and radiated fully throughout the grand hall and the debris surrounding it.
I walked over to Duke Archer, who was still reeling in shock at the sight of his son’s death in his arms.
Just as I was about three meters in front of Duke Archer, I could sense his facial expression change from sadness to rage.
His brutal gaze and intense killing intent flared again when he realized I was in front of him.
But I didn’t immediately attacked him.
I waited for him to gather all the anger he had accumulated over his son’s death.
And from his furious gaze, I knew he was indeed cursing me.
"YOU...! YOU KILLED MY SON...! YOU TRAPPED ME INTO THIS MANIPULATION...!" Duke Archer shouted harshly as his aura of power surged.
"You ordered Drakegon to stab your own son. Why are you blaming me?" I said dismissively.
"BASTARD! YOU TRAPPED ME! I WANT TO KILL YOU! I WILL NEVER FORGET THIS, ATREUS VERMILLION...! I—"
"Enough. Don’t talk too much. If you truly hate me, prove it with victory. Prepare your silver bow. We will duel, and whoever is fastest wins," I interrupted defiantly.
The atmosphere suddenly fell silent, as Duke Archer and I glared at each other.
I saw Duke Archer grip his silver bow tightly, emitting a whitish-blue light, signaling his aura of power ready to fire a magical arrow.
At the same time, a flash of black lightning appeared in my right hand.
The Black Star in my right palm was already emitting its black aura, ready to launch its swift black lightning attack, the fastest elemental attack I possessed.
Our breathing could be heard in the silence.
The air felt stifled as my aura of power collided with Duke Archer’s aura.
In a single breath, Duke Archer drew his silver bow, and at the same time, I cast the black thunder.
BZZZTT...!
SLASH...!
Ah...shit.
Even with his injuries, Duke Archer managed to launch his fastest arrow, which managed to slash the entire length of my right arm.
I was fortunate, of course, that my black lightning managed to redirect his magical arrow, which nearly pierced my head, to my right arm.
Despite my injuries, I saw Duke Archer preparing his next magical arrow to shoot me.
BZZTT...!
BZZZT...!
"AAGGGHH...!"
Duke Archer’s body trembled violently as my black lightning coursed through his body.
"B-BASTARD...! I HAD BOUND IT WITH MY DIVINE ARMOR...! W-WHY...GGHHHHHH.....!"
Duke Archer collapsed, his body trembling from the electric shock.
He lost the energy to move his body as my black lightning successfully interfered with his nerves, muscles, and bones.
"My first bolt of black lightning has successfully entered your body, Duke Archer. I know you were so confident in accepting your challenge because you believed my elemental magic would be blocked by your divine armor, but you were wrong. My black lightning didn’t target your armor, but entered your body. It only took a few seconds for it to travel through your bloodstream," I said calmly, using healing magic to heal the wound from the magical arrow that ran along my right arm.
The stakes were high, as this duel relied heavily on quick decisions, but with just a small wound like this, I could still win.
"B-BASTARD...! DAMN IT...! ATREUS VERMILLION...! I SWEAR... I WILL KILL YOU...! GGHHHHH...! AAHHHHH...!"
Duke Archer raged, his body trembling and powerless.
No matter how angry and frustrated he was, Duke Archer couldn’t get up to fight back.
He couldn’t even reach for his prized silver bow.
I approached Duke Archer, staring at him coldly, unconcerned that he was still raging against me.
But suddenly, he froze, as if he’d just seen a ghost.
Oh, I know.
He wasn’t looking at me, but at the shadow of Zeraxion behind me.
And that shadow of Zeraxion was staring intently at him, as if gazing into his soul and mind.
"The Erased Mind Spell will take full effect in 15 seconds, Lord Atreus," Zeraxion explained.
Good.
My plan to distract Duke Archer so he had time to cast the Erased Mind Spell was succeed.
I saw Duke Archer frozen in place as I withdrew my black lightning.
And he didn’t fight back, just sitting there, frozen, his mouth open and his eyes wide, as if something was erasing his memory.
Yes, I knew the memory erasure process was underway.
"After this, you’ll forget that your son is dead, Duke Archer. You’ll also forget that I, Atreus Vermillion, am in this golden palace. Oh, you’ll also forget that I was fucking your wife and your daughter at the same time, so don’t worry or think too much about it," I explained.
Duke Archer didn’t respond.
"...your wife’s pussy and your daughter’s pussy is fucking great, Duke Archer. I feel proud for ever taste both of it with passion." I whispered at him, tries to provoke him.
I don’t know what was going through his mind, but he seemed to have lost all interest in this mess.
A few seconds later, Duke Archer collapsed unconscious.
"The mind erasure spell was successful, Lord Aterus," Zeraxion said politely.
"Thanks for the good work, Zeraxion," I replied calmly.
I caught my breath for a moment, celebrating my victory.
Calmly.
Although my breathing became more stable, I could feel the exhaustion in my body and soul.
It seemed like I’d overexerted myself with the summoning spell, coupled with the erased mind spell, which had drained a lot of my magical energy.
"Lord Atreus...is there anything else I can help you with?" Zeraxion asked politely.
"...I’ve never seen a dragon as polite as you, Zeraxion. Your task is complete. Wouldn’t you like to take a walk around this world?" I asked casually.
"No...I’ll stay in the library I’ve created. Lord Atreus can summon me if you needs help."
"Heh...a bookish dragon...truly amusing when I think about it. Go, Zeraxion. If I need anything, I’ll be sure to summon you."
Zeraxion smiled and bowed.
He then re-entered the magical warp gate, disappearing with me.
"Baron Atreus...!"
A woman’s voice suddenly rang out as I had just turned over.
Before I could see who had called out, a woman hugged me tightly.
The warmth of her body, her scent, and her shiny light brown hair—I missed it all from the woman who always made my heart come alive.
"Leysha... I did it..."
"Baron Atreus... oh... I was really worried about you... I-I’m sorry I had to do this... but I wanted to ensure your safety, Baron..." Leysha replied, sobbing, tears streaming down her cheeks.
I could sense her deep anxiety, and I knew she was sincere.
Behind Leysha, I saw Alex, Cecile, and the knights and assassins just arriving in the grand hall.
"Baron Atreus...!" Cecile said, immediately approaching me and hugging me tightly, worried for me.
"Baron... I’m sorry if I disobeyed your orders. We, along with the Assassins and Knights, were forced to enter because we were worried we wouldn’t hear from you," Alex said, bowing apologetically.
Well, being hugged by Leysha and Cecile together like this is indeed pleasant, but I still have to clean up this mess before Duke Archer know all of this mess.
"Duke Archer has amnesia. He won’t remember this mess, me, and the Vermillion troops disguised in this golden mountain of Aaren. Alex, restore everything in this golden mountain of Aaren. Inform Azalea and Sheiza about this so they can both play their part in ensuring there’s nothing strange about this place. Understand?"
Alex paused for a moment, trying to process what I meant.
But seeing his serious gaze, I was sure he understood what I meant.
Even from the sharp look in his eyes, I could tell he had already mapped out the troops to be mobilized to fulfill my request.
"Understood, Baron Atreus. Leave it to me!" Alex said quickly, then immediately coordinated with his troops.
I smiled calmly as Alex moved quickly.
I saw Leysha and Cecile looking at me expectantly, wanting to make sure I was okay.
It seemed like they were both asking how I was, but for some reason I couldn’t hear them.
In fact, my world felt blurry and dark for a moment.
Ah, shit.
I was exhausted.
My body collapsed.
And the last voice I heard was Leysha and Cecile calling out to me at the same time.
"Baron Atreus...!"
