Chapter 384: Chapter 251: Warning (Part 2)

Unfortunately, Wei Ziang was determined to teach that guy a lesson himself. He put on a serious expression and looked at Auntie sternly.

"Auntie, let me handle this. After all, Zhang An’s grandfather is the village chief. If things don’t go well, what if they make life difficult for our family in the future?"

"I’m about the same age as Zhang An, so even if we get into a fight or have a spat, it can still be brushed off as kids being immature. You and Uncle should stay out of it."

If he doesn’t teach that Zhang An a good lesson, all these years of schooling would have been in vain!

"But..."

"Auntie, just let me try. If I fail, then you and Uncle can step in, okay?"

The usually calm Wei Ziang even resorted to acting cute, tugging at Auntie’s sleeve and shaking it.

Wei Ziang was naturally fair and handsome. When he wasn’t smiling, he looked like a cool and noble prince; when he smiled, he was a charming little cutie, as adorable as Silver!

Auntie couldn’t resist, especially with Wei Ziang so rarely acting cute. She was instantly smitten by his adorableness: "Okay, okay, I’ll let you try first."

"Try what? Ziang, why did you come back so early today?"

Jiang Hu had returned. It was already noon, just as Wei Ziang had guessed. Jiang Hu was worried, so he came back for lunch and to ask what was going on.

"Uncle, let Auntie explain to you first. I’ll go wake up Silver; we should be able to eat soon."

"Silver is still sleeping? Didn’t she go out to play with her friends?"

With the bit of pigweed Silver brings back every day, it might as well be considered playing.

"She went and came back. Tiger Brother, don’t leave yet; I have something to tell you..."

While Auntie was explaining to Jiang Hu why Wei Ziang returned, Wei Ziang had just reached Silver’s door when it opened. Silver, still sleepy, gave a big stretch.

"Awake now? I was just about to call you. It’s nearly time to eat."

Silver nodded, then shook her head: "Woke up hungry; I just felt it was time to eat."

She woke up early in the morning, so breakfast was early too. Naturally, she’d be hungry earlier.

"Uncle’s back too. You head to the kitchen first; I’m going to find Uncle Liu. He hasn’t returned yet; he’s probably lost track of time while fishing."

While passing through the main courtyard, he overheard Uncle saying something; he didn’t catch it all, but he knew Uncle was a bit angry.

Wei Ziang slightly curled his lips. That Zhang An was clearly up to no good with Silver, which was why he stubbornly followed her despite her annoyance.

However, Silver clearly didn’t like him. Wei Ziang heard it from Silver herself. From the first day Second Sister met Zhang An, she warned Silver to stay away from him.

Silver has a good relationship with Second Sister and is very obedient. If Second Sister advises her to keep away from Zhang An, Silver will certainly do as told.

So Zhang An has no chance!

But knowing he has no chance is one thing; teaching him a lesson so he won’t dare follow Silver again is another!

This little scheme, it’s hard to believe an eight-year-old could come up with it. Neither Silver nor Auntie could possibly guess Wei Ziang’s true intentions.

Even though he’s been quite obvious, no one suspected a thing.

Once Wei Ziang found Uncle Liu and brought him back, Jiang Hu understood the whole situation but didn’t say much. He just patted Wei Ziang’s shoulder, as if agreeing to his earlier proposal.

After lunch, it was time for a nap, but Silver had slept enough in the morning. Now, she was practicing her swordsmanship while watching the shadows of the trees in the courtyard.

The biggest progress over the years was learning how to judge the approximate time by the plants’ shadows.

There’s a sundial in the main courtyard meant for checking the time.

But she was too lazy to go there. After all, she had pretty much learned it over the years. By looking at Silver and the sun’s position, she could get a pretty accurate guess.

When the agreed time was near, Silver finished her stance, took a deep breath, and prepared to leave. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Grass said he wanted to take her up the mountain to find something good. She didn’t know what, but she needed to bring a bamboo basket or a small backpack.

Just as she was thinking about this, she saw Wei Ziang already waiting at the side courtyard entrance, carrying her small backpack.

"Little brother, you’re here so early. What have you brought?"

She said as she jogged over to Wei Ziang, tiptoeing to look into the backpack.

She wasn’t as tall as Wei Ziang, but when she came over, Wei Ziang automatically bent down to let her see clearly.
