Transcending Realms With My Leveling System As A Demon-Chapter 63: The Real Jace...
And just then, time seemed to slow, everything Zylus once loved felt like it was coming to an end.
A deadly end.
"Y-You know," Zylus stammered, stuttering at the sight of Eldra, "J-Jace?"
"But Zylus..." Clare paused, "We never assigned anything to Jace, and I’m finding zero records of him in our database." She slightly staggered, "Just... what happened, Zylus?
When Zylus first came to the academy, it was Jace who accompanied him. The same man who slowed down time just to speak one-on-one. He was the one who told Zylus that Clare chose him as the chosen helper.
"Then," Zylus paused, "How?" Zylus stopped once more, tingles floated down his spine, "How does he know about the person who helped us infiltrate this academy?"
"Zylus," Clare muttered, "What person? You got in here yourself, don’t you remember?"
Eldra started approaching Zylus slowly; her smile seemed gentle, but too gentle.
"Stay back!" Zylus yelled, backing away as he put a hand by blocking her face.
He had lost the emotion of fear, but this wasn’t fear. This was something entirely different, an emotion he just can’t explain. This wasn’t fear; his instincts just acknowledged a threat, something unforetold.
"Zylus..." Eldra waited, "What’s wrong?"
"But, Clare," Zylus ignored Eldra, "You told me the human was the person who let us in the academy... a human spy."
"Don’t remember," she responded, "Come back if you feel uneasy, Zylus."
"I don’t!" He declined her answer, "I confirmed it with you, remember-"
Just then, memories floated back to him about the time he was about to confirm it with Clare, if Jace truly was the spy they sent...
It was a memory that was so clear, one that seemed ingrained in him.
Zylus’s Memory:
"Hey, Clare," Zylus whispered, trying to see if her voice was still in attendance.
"What’s up?" She responded almost immediately.
"Remember-," As Zylus was about to ask her something, Eldra came rushing in to his side, her chest squished onto his abs.
"Zylus!" Eldra excitedly said, "Let’s go to class, it’s about to start in fifteen minutes, let’s get our seats."
Zylus then swung his sword downwards, anger lingered around him, "That’s you, isn’t it?" Zylus pointed the tip of his sword towards Eldra, "Jace?!"
Eldra curled her lips, "You finally figured it out..."
Her skin started to peel off her, the same way that Victoria went about it, similarly in every single aspect. Yet, this time, when she unzipped it, Jace’s silhouette appeared.
"Why don’t you show your spirit form?" Zylus smirked, "I know you are one, Jace!"
He menacingly laughed, a hand on his chest to lower the pressure, "This is my actual form. This, and of course, my human form."
"Don’t lie to me, you bastard!" He didn’t feel fear towards Jace, because he lost that emotion, "We both know you Spirits only have one form!"
"Oh," Jace smiled faintly, "I forgot you don’t know this yet... the ten orders are given a blessing from the Spirit king himself to obtain a human form." He said.
"You dare take on the shape of those deemed as humans? You Spirits do not have the right to be portrayed as beings who forgive, because all you do is forget." Zylus spat out. Jace’s calm tone angered him, but he wasn’t dumb enough to go straight into the fight, especially when he didn’t know his opponents’ power.
"Yet, this is how I have come to you." Jace simply said, "Why is it that only you get to live with this glorified silhouette. Why can’t other races do the same as well? Especially for me, one of the ten orders."
"So, all this time, you have been Eldra." Zylus wondered out loud, "And you somehow tricked Fred into thinking you’re his brother, that has to be some type of ability. And somehow, he made Clare forget the human who worked with us."
The idea that he took over Eldra was also there, but it wouldn’t make sense, the way Jace altered Clare’s memories, maybe even done something to the person who helped them.
"You catch on quick," Jace said, stepping around Zylus, unfazed. "Welcome me," he opened his arms out, as if he was receiving applause.
"The third order: Ismantlis Von Constraint."
"Unique name," Zylus grinned, "Ten orders, huh?" He slammed his katana downwards, "And the third one has personally come to escort me? I feel pleased, thank you very much."
The ten orders are those that the Spirit king foresees as the strongest amongst their realm, and gives them a ranking, every ten, apart from himself. The lower your number, the more powerful you are considered than those who come after you.
Medrus himself had only killed seven orders; he could’ve easily killed the other three if he had only gotten the chance. But the Spirit King didn’t give him any last moment to do so, cold, stagnant, and readied, as he watched Medrus meet his end.
Yet, Zylus was no Demon king; he was himself. ’
"Don’t feel very pleased, Zylus," Jace’s gaze darkened, "Because once I finish with you, we’ll bring destruction to this world."
Zylus laughed, "I can’t die..." He paused, his eyes glimmered, "Seriously, I can’t."
It was a complete bluff, well, not really. Zylus, at this point, has four lives and one extra; he’ll just continuously kill off one of his emotions every die he falters, and once he loses all emotions, he’ll switch to his human system. A win-win situation for somebody like him.
Zylus opened his arms wide, pinning the katana by himself to the ground, "I got a new technique, if I remember correctly. And when I get those, I never fail."
Jace stepped forward, "No matter what you do, at your current state, you’ll never be able to defeat me, not in a million years."
"But..." Zylus stepped up slowly, "Who said I would stay in my current state?"
[[New Technique: Demonic Kin]

[Definition: Just Use It]

"Here goes nothing..." Zylus pinned his katana down, "Technique," he grinned, their gazes met.
"No matter what you got, you will never, not in a million years, be able to defeat me, Zylus." Jace walked up slowly; he didn’t care about Zylus, not at all.
"I’m saddened that even back in the Demon realm, you never once tried telling me the truth; you told me the dinner would be on you, after all." Zylus opened up wide, "So this time, dinner will be on me!"
"What?" Jace, confused, laid his hands downwards; he felt overconfident.
"Technique." Zylus closed his eyes, "Demonic Kin."
