Transcending Realms With My Leveling System As A Demon-Chapter 61: Mixed Emotions
Fred continued to wait for Zylus; he didn’t budge, and he was still in the same, horrifying state, now angered by what he had failed to do.
"It’s my fault you’re dead," Fred whispered, "Now Zylus, come here!"
"Zylus? You’re still fighting?" Clare asked, but didn’t get a response, "Come back at once!"
Zylus gripped onto his katana, "Sorry, Clare," he spat downwards, seeing how powerful Fred had just become, "I could just feel it."
"Feel what?!"
"I might have fun today," Zylus said, as he started rushing into Fred, his face glimmered with excitement as Clare gave up on speaking anymore, realising that nothing would get through to his muscle head.
Fred stuck his fists out, a bent form, perfectly balanced.
"Technique number two."
"He knows two fucking techniques?!" Zylus wondered out loud, closing in the distance, "Fuck that, I’ll attack him before he can command it."
Zylus rushed in a bent-over type of running style, his katana at his right side, when he finally reached slicing distance.
Fred moved out of the way just in time, putting a hand onto Zylus’s back, as Zylus stepped backwards, pinning the katana into the ground to stop the constant motion. He moved further away from his opponent.
Zylus then rushed back; he couldn’t give Fred enough time to declare a second technique. But it was too late; he had already commanded it.
"Dominion Nerve," Fred paused, aiming an open palm towards Zylus, who was in constant motion, "Order one, nervous system."
He said this as Zylus neared just enough to punch him in the stomach...
Bang!
Zylus looked up, but for some reason, Fred didn’t punch him. Fred looked downwards, smirking for the first time at the sight of fighting Zylus.
"What are you doing down there?" He asked, Zylus panicked, slowly gazing back at his opponent, "Why do you look like I’m fearful?"
Boom!
In just one slap, Zylus’s back landed hard onto a fallen log, making a large thump in between his surroundings. Bushes fell, the birds chirped away at the small explosion, and everything was going wrong. And his katana fell to the floor, unable to reach, as he barely felt awake anymore.

[User’s Death Is Imminent]
Fred’s muscles seemed as though they had buffed up. "Is that really all?" He smiled, rushing back into Zylus without any hesitation; he didn’t care about dignity at all.
Punch!

[User Is Dead]
And just like that, from one of Fred’s quick jabs, Zylus died, as he gained consciousness right after. But this time, he was in an empty pit of reflectionless black, utter darkness, in a state of no response as his voice echoed millions of times over.
"Where am I?"
"Welcome, Zylus," and just then, flames surrounded him, with a man sitting on a throne shaping into a human silhouette. "To my throne."
The man above placed an elbow onto the seat’s arm hold, his face leaned into his palm, his grin widened, "I’m your demonic weapon, why do you look so scared?"
Zylus looked at his buddy, tapping on his wounds that were inflicted by Fred, "No wounds, and this guy is telling me he’s my weapon, what the fuck is happening?"
"Listen, Zylus," the man upfront was covered in a complete dark shadow, all Zylus could see was his silhouette, "You have two choices, both allowing you to come back to life."
The closer Zylus got to the man, the distance grew larger for some reason. "What are my choices?" He asked.
The man lifted his index finger, "one, come back to life, without a demon system, with your human system still intact. This means all memories and strength you have gained with your system will be gone. Or..."
Zylus interestingly looked at him, "Interesting, since I died with my demon system, I can still come back to life with my human side. But then that would mean a part of me has left.
The person stood from his throne, his silhouette made it apparent that he now stuck both his middle finger and index finger up.
"You can pick between one of these five emotions to choose from," he lifted his other hand, starting to point fingers from each label, "Fear, love, anger, guilt, and of course, hope."
Zylus looked at him, "There’s nothing else I can do or trust right now, so my best option is giving this a go." He whispered, tapping his jaw in the pursuit of an answer.
"You get three minutes to decide-"
"I got it," Zylus whispered, "I’ll go with-"
The man on his throne sat down in shock, continuously tapping on his jaw.
"You sure?" He asked.
Zylus smiled gently, "I understand, but that will leave you at a great loss."
Between every decision Zylus made, he had already decided how he wanted to come back to life with or without. This wasn’t a matter of life or death; it was a matter of loss or regret now.
"Fear," Zylus smirked, "I never feel fear anyway."
"This emotion that you’re ridding off won’t just be applied to one of your individual systems, but to you as a whole." The man added, almost as if he wanted Zylus to change his mind.
"No worries," Zylus responded, "If I don’t feel afraid of others, I can think more carefully. It’s a useless emotion either way.
The man giggled slightly, "You might think it’s useless until you must come face to face with what you let go."
"I understand," Zylus stammered, his gaze pointed calmly back to the silhouette in the shadows, "but every path leads to regret, every decision you make always has consequences. And making this choice will only lead to more loss, yet I still feel as though this is what I must do, and this is what I have chosen."
"Good answer," the man smiled. He tapped three times on his throne. "You will be completely oblivious to fear, but you’ll know what it is." He paused, his grin beyond the darkness widened, "You’ll just never be able to feel it ever again..."
