Chapter 74: Chapter 74 Jealousy

Mason Nightshade came out after his shower and saw Aurelia Shaw lying on the bed, hugging her laptop. A drama was playing on the screen, and she was so absorbed that she didn’t notice him until he got closer and spotted the massive object taking up almost half the bed in the middle.

His handsome face instantly grew dark; he raised an eyebrow, grabbed the big bear plushy, and casually threw it onto the floor.

Aurelia was startled. She looked up and saw the bear plushy, taller than herself, being effortlessly tossed by Mason, landing pathetically on its head on the floor, and she frowned.

"Pick up the bear," Aurelia said in a low voice.

"It’s in the way!" Mason replied with a calm face, glanced at the bear again, finding it an eyesore, and gave it another kick. Seeing the bear fly far away, he finally curved his lips in satisfaction.

Aurelia had exhausted herself to bring out the bear, only for the man to throw it away so easily! Her anger flared instantly as she glared at him, seeing his indifferent expression, which made her grit her teeth in frustration.

Mason, as if he’d done something to be proud of, snorted arrogantly, walked to a cabinet, and skillfully found a box, which he brought over to the bed.

Aurelia glanced at the medicine box without saying a word, just looking at Mason with a puzzled gaze.

Mason untied the pajama straps, pulled open his robe, and he was only wearing boxer briefs underneath. As he took off his pajamas, his well-built, tanned muscles were fully exposed.

Aurelia’s eyes widened in disbelief at Mason, and the next second, she swiftly ducked under the covers, with only a muffled voice coming from inside, "Mason, you’re such a freak, why are you suddenly undressing!"

Aurelia held the covers tightly with her hands, her heart pounding, despite having lost affection for him and no longer loving him. Yet, no woman would remain indifferent to his physique, especially when he was standing so close and bare before her.

While Aurelia was contemplating her next move, the covers were suddenly yanked open with considerable force, light pouring in, and Mason stood by the bedside, looking down at her with amusement.

He shook his arm and gestured towards it with his chin.

Cautiously and suspiciously, Aurelia followed his gaze, landing on his arm. The wound still lay there hideously, with the bandage torn off, likely discarded in the trash while he showered. The cut hadn’t healed, with muscle exposed and revealing the gruesome flesh.

Recollecting the reminder to the servants not to let her wound get wet, he was so reckless with himself.

Aurelia thought Mason was quite the split personality.

"Help me apply the medicine," Mason said.

"What?" Aurelia admitted she was distracted and hadn’t reacted right away, staring blankly at Mason.

"Apply! Medicine!" Mason repeated the two words, recalling her earlier reaction, and smirked roguishly, "What did you think I was going to do to you? Or rather..." He elongated the last syllable, his gaze turning deep and intense, "what do you hope I will do to you?"

Aurelia rolled her eyes, mercilessly mocking him, "When will you ever change your arrogant and narcissistic habits?"

"You weren’t like this before," she muttered under her breath.

"What?" Mason didn’t catch what she mumbled and raised an eyebrow, asking her.

Aurelia decided not to pursue this topic further, shifting the subject, "Nothing, weren’t you going to change the dressing? Bring the medicine box over."

She was unusually compliant for once, and Mason didn’t press further, handing over the medicine box. He didn’t need to guess to know that this girl was surely badmouthing him behind his back.

Her courage was growing; she used to either softly please him or avoid him in fear of his temper, staying three feet away when she had done something wrong. Unlike now, she’s so lively and endearing.
