Together Apart: Her White Moonlight Has Returned Too-Chapter 95: Not Only Is That Dog of a Man Impotent, He Cheats Too
"I took him, so what?" Cecilia Vaughn looked smug, "Even if you married him for three years, was he ever really yours?"
Zoe Monroe angrily rolled up her sleeves, "I’ve never seen anyone so shameless in my whole life!"
Vera Yves held her back, unfazed by Cecilia Vaughn’s words.
"What do I want him to be mine for?" Vera Yves smiled, "Only a tasteless woman like you would treat a cheating scumbag like treasure. For over three years, I was merely using him to satisfy my physical needs."
Vera Yves indifferently said, "Now that he’s dirty, I gift him to you!"
Cecilia Vaughn gnashed her teeth in hatred, "Vera Yves, don’t act like you’re taking advantage!"
Vera Yves chuckled, "What advantage did I get? Every time in bed, for the sake of his male ego, I had to put on quite a show!"
The surrounding staff exchanged glances.
What an earth-shattering scandal! The Valentine Group heir, the most prestigious man in Imperia’s upper circle, actually isn’t up to the task!
Cecilia Vaughn’s face twisted with anger, seeing a man walk in, she greeted him with a look of grievance, "Winston, Vera Yves is actually humiliating you like this!"
All eyes fell on Winston Valentine, with a hint of sympathy in their gaze.
Vera Yves’s expression became momentarily unnatural.
Winston Valentine’s expression was calm, "Have you picked yet?"
Cecilia Vaughn, seeing his lack of reaction, deliberately said, "Not yet, Winston, should we pick matching outfits?"
Winston Valentine casually said, "Whatever makes you happy."
Cecilia Vaughn glanced triumphantly at Vera Yves, "After we choose, let’s go back to the villa together, and I’ll personally cook you dinner, alright?"
Winston Valentine sat on the sofa nearby, "Anything is fine."
Vera Yves’s gaze flickered, thinking of Winston Valentine and Cecilia Vaughn living in that villa, she felt somewhat queasy.
Zoe Monroe snorted, pulled Vera Yves out.
The two returned to Vera Yves’s apartment.
Zoe Monroe mocked the two for ages, finally fuming, "The lousy guy isn’t capable and yet cheats!"
Vera Yves, having just sipped water, nearly spat it out.
After dinner, bidding goodbye to Zoe Monroe, Vera Yves took a shower.
The doorbell rang, and through the monitor, Winston Valentine was seen outside.
Vera Yves turned to walk away.
"I know you’re home, open the door." His voice carried a hint of drunkenness.
Vera Yves’s footsteps halted.
"Bang bang bang!"
In the quiet night, his knocking was truly disturbing.
Vera Yves opened the door, displeased at the sight of the man at the entrance.
Winston Valentine walked in on his own, Vera Yves blocked him, "I don’t know you, please leave immediately."
Winston Valentine grabbed her wrist, pulled her inside, pressed her against the door, "Don’t know me, and yet you’re spreading rumors about me! I didn’t know you’ve been pretending all these years!"
"You always said I was pretending, didn’t you?" Vera Yves smelled the overwhelming alcohol on him, turned her head in disdain, "I thought you knew."
Winston Valentine gritted his teeth, resisted the urge to strangle her.
"With Miles Monroe, you pretended too?"
Vera Yves furrowed her brows, "You think everyone is as filthy as you!"
Seeing her face slightly flushed with anger, Winston Valentine hesitantly reached out, feeling her movement, Vera Yves pushed him away, "Don’t touch me, I find it dirty!"
Winston Valentine’s movement froze, he quickly regained composure, "Is this how you treat your savior?"
"What did you save me from?"
Vera Yves looked at him, coldly laughed, "If it weren’t for marrying you and your constant belittling, leading everyone to think I’m a woman obtainable by money, do you think I’d have experienced those things?"
Seeing the undisguised hatred in her eyes, Winston Valentine couldn’t help but edge closer, "Weren’t you just after my money?"
Vera Yves struggled violently, trying to push him away.
Winston Valentine pinned her against the door, gazing at her face with near greed.
Vera Yves couldn’t break free, looked at him angrily, "Are you saying I deserved it?"
"I’m asking, have you, in these three plus years of marriage, even once... sought after me as a person?"
Watching her slightly parted lips, fire flickered in Winston Valentine’s gaze, he slowly leaned in.
Vera Yves turned her head, coldly sneered, "What should I seek from you? Seek you to placate me when you’re in a good mood, ignore me when you’re not! Or seek you for having someone else in your heart?"
The fire extinguished.
Winston Valentine seemed to come to his senses, he released Vera Yves.
Vera Yves took a breath of relief, she opened the door, "Please leave immediately!"
Winston Valentine took one last deep look at her, then walked out.
"Bang!"
Vera Yves forcefully slammed the door shut.
Due to Winston Valentine’s visit, Vera Yves slept fitfully that night.
Early the next morning, Hannah Hayes arrived at the apartment with bags, helped fill the fridge, and made breakfast for her.
The mother and daughter sat at the dining table, Hannah Hayes advised earnestly, "Don’t listen to what your dad says, if you’re truly compatible with Miles, marrying into The Monroe Family is not difficult."
"Miles Monroe and I are impossible." Vera Yves sipped her soup, looking calm, "I advise you not to waste your efforts!"
"Why impossible? You’re single, he’s single, and didn’t you used to like him very much?"
Vera Yves gripped her spoon tightly, "In your eyes, is marriage the only thing I can do?"
"If you don’t get married, what else will you do?" Hannah Hayes disparaged, "What, open a clinic? You don’t lack money, why should a girl put herself out there?"
Vera Yves looked at her calmly, "Is marriage that great? I listened to you and got married, and what was the result?"
Hannah Hayes was pierced by her gaze, stood up, "Three years of marriage and still couldn’t win his heart, who can you blame?"
Vera Yves self-mockingly smiled, "Blame me for being incapable, so I won’t repeat the mistake, you’d better give up sooner!"
Hannah Hayes steadied her emotions, "I don’t care what you think, in three days at Old Master Monroe’s birthday banquet, you must put on a brave face!"
"The dress has been ordered, someone will come to measure you later." Hannah Hayes said calmly, "Then let those in Imperia waiting to laugh at you see how well Vera Yves is living without Winston Valentine!"
Vera Yves had a terrible headache.
Old Master Monroe’s birthday banquet was highly anticipated, firstly, because Miles Monroe, the runaway young master of The Monroe Family, would formally appear.
Secondly, he’s currently single, and The Monroe Family is actively seeking a suitable marriage alliance for him, inviting daughters from various wealthy families.
Thirdly, Winston Valentine’s ex-wife will make her public appearance at the banquet.
Early morning, Hannah Hayes took Vera Yves to the styling studio, where they started with skincare, maintenance, and moved on to styling.
Hannah Hayes even brought out her own dowry, jewelry and earrings worth millions.
After being dressed and adorned from head to toe, it was already afternoon.
The stylist curled her hair into soft waves, then half tied it up, giving her an aura of purity, making her small face appear more exquisite and noble.
The starry evening gown, with its gradient and open back, made her look sexy and alluring.
Hannah Hayes was very satisfied, knowing her daughter was incredibly beautiful.
The two arrived at the banquet on time, Zoe Monroe had long been waiting at the entrance, she approached happily upon seeing Vera Yves, "Vera, you’re so beautiful today!"
Miles Monroe was chatting with some acquaintances and looked over upon hearing Zoe Monroe’s voice.
