Together Apart: Her White Moonlight Has Returned Too-Chapter 202: Scumbags Flocking Together
Vera Yves shook her head, "How did you get here so quickly?"
"I was here discussing matters with my uncle and them." Winston Valentine saw she seemed to have a swollen chin, wishing he could drag Jasper Hughes back and punch him a few more times.
Vera Yves lowered her voice, "I already told you, why did you still bring your uncle and them along?"
Now both families know, which makes this matter even harder to resolve.
"Why do you think I brought them here to discuss things?"
Vera Yves widened her eyes, struggling to digest this information.
Winston Valentine looked down at her, "Tell me, why didn’t you answer my video call?"
"It’s too noisy here."
"Didn’t look at the time?" Winston Valentine pinned her against the wall, "Eleven o’clock and still wandering outside, Vera Yves, you’ve grown some guts."
Vera Yves pushed him but couldn’t move him, "I can go home whenever I want. Even my mom doesn’t mind."
Winston Valentine raised an eyebrow at her, "Didn’t your mom tell you to be home by ten?" 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"So let me go now, I need to hurry home." Vera Yves bent down, trying to slip out from under his arm, but got caught and pinned against the wall.
Winston Valentine murmured, "Since it’s late, there’s no need to go back."
Vera Yves saw he was about to kiss her and put her hands up to stop his lips, "Public place, be mindful."
Winston Valentine kissed the palm of her hand. When Vera Yves tried to pull her hand back, he held onto her, wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed her, holding her waist as she tried to pull away.
Noah Hayes opened the door and saw the two kissing.
Vera Yves instinctively burrowed into Winston Valentine’s embrace upon hearing the door open.
"President Valentine, with all his money, couldn’t even afford a room?" Noah Hayes looked displeased. "Doing this on purpose to provoke others."
Winston Valentine held Vera Yves’s head, giving Noah a cold look, "I should be saying that to you. Noah Hayes, don’t think I don’t know about your little tricks in the background. If you don’t want your hospital shut down, be a good boy and do your show."
Noah Hayes glanced at Vera Yves in his arms, let out a cold laugh, "Winston Valentine, how do you know the woman in your arms isn’t interested in me?"
Hearing that, Vera Yves glared angrily at him, but before she could speak, Winston Valentine coolly replied, "Compared to me, you’re not worthy of catching her eye."
Noah Hayes provocatively added, "Not necessarily. Didn’t she almost marry someone else before? I heard the guy broke it off, and President Valentine is just a backup choice for Miss Yves."
Winston Valentine’s face turned icy cold, "If you don’t want to die, get lost!"
Noah Hayes adjusted his clothes and quickly left.
Chelsea Valentine came out afterward, her face showing signs of injury, looking a bit disheveled.
"Jasper Hughes won’t let this slide easily. You and Toby should stay at my place for now."
Chelsea Valentine nodded, "I’ll go pick him up, we’ll head over tonight."
After Chelsea Valentine left, Winston Valentine accompanied Vera Yves to find Linda Young, who had already drunk quite a bit, her cheeks flushed, reaching to kiss Vera upon seeing her.
But Winston Valentine blocked her with one hand.
Linda Young scrunched her face up, "Annoying, Vera, did I drink too much? Otherwise, why would I see Winston Valentine, that scumbag?"
Vera Yves took her coat, helped her put it on, "Linda, we should go home now."
"We can’t leave! They said there’s a mystery guest, a final performance tonight!"
As it was nearing midnight, the bar was getting even more crowded. Vera Yves decided Linda had drunk too much and started helping her outside, with Winston Valentine expressionlessly following them.
The crowd suddenly burst into a high-pitched scream when someone shouted "Jane Shea," and then the crowd spontaneously shouted "Jane Shea" together.
The stage lights dimmed, and a spotlight shone.
Jane Shea sat on a chair, wearing a sexy red dress. The dress was short, her pale, long legs seeming to glow under the lights.
The crowd seemed to explode, with whistles blowing.
Jane Shea playfully smiled, put a finger to her red lips, and the audience quieted down instantly.
Upon seeing the mystery guest was Jane Shea, Linda Young sneered, "What kind of lousy bar is this? The owner’s taste is really poor, never coming back."
Vera Yves helped her out of the bar.
"Jane Shea really does anything for money! Appearing at a bar opening, is she that desperate for cash?"
Linda Young was wobbling as she walked, nearly falling forward when someone walked by, saved only by Winston Valentine’s pull.
"Sorry, she’s had too much to drink..." Vera Yves quickly apologized and looked up to see Miles Monroe. Their gazes met in mid-air.
"It’s okay." Miles Monroe snapped back and was about to say something when a figure stepped between them. "If it’s nothing, you can go inside."
Miles Monroe looked at the man in front of him, his expression turning cold.
Linda Young, blocked, pushed Winston Valentine, "Scumbag, don’t block the way."
Winston Valentine’s face turned instantly gloomy.
Linda Young looked up and saw Miles Monroe, then blinked hard, "Damn, this bar must be selling fake stuff, making me drink until I see a group of scumbags."
Afraid Linda might say more, Vera Yves hurriedly helped her out.
Miles Monroe saw her struggling, sidestepped Winston Valentine, and stood next to Linda Young, "Where are you headed? I’ll help you with her."
Politely, Vera Yves replied, "No need."
Winston Valentine turned around, looking unhappy, "Counselor Monroe, you’re really considerate."
Miles Monroe calmly said, "Regardless, Vera Yves and I have childhood ties; it’s a piece of cake. Are you going to be jealous even of this?"
"A mere piece of cake, Counselor Monroe is truly enthusiastic about warming up to an ex-girlfriend."
Miles Monroe’s expression didn’t change, indifferently staring at him, "Belittling me won’t make you any nobler."
Feeling a bit of a headache, Vera Yves supported Linda Young past the two men.
Winston Valentine followed over, grabbing Linda Young’s arm disdainfully, "I’ll take her over."
Linda Young pushed away Winston Valentine’s hand, "Get lost, scumbag, don’t touch me!"
Vera Yves looked somewhat embarrassed, "She’s drunk."
Luckily, the driver had already parked the car by the roadside, opened the door as they came out, and Vera Yves helped Linda Young into the backseat, also climbing in.
Winston Valentine, with a stern face, got into the passenger seat and instructed the driver to drive.
Miles Monroe watched the car leave, then turned his gaze away and walked into the hall where Jane Shea was dancing passionately, with the crowd screaming madly, some reaching out towards the stage.
Her face was heavily made-up, looking sexy and fiery.
Miles Monroe took just one glance, then walked towards the backstage dressing room unperturbed.
After finishing her performance, Jane Shea returned to the dressing room, with quite a few minor celebrities waiting to get her autograph. Jane Shea smiled, signing autographs and taking pictures with them.
She entered the dressing room, not surprised to see Miles Monroe, and motioned for her assistant to leave and guard the door.
"Taking this kind of gig doesn’t help your career at all."
Jane Shea pulled out a chair and sat down, "It’s rare for you to worry about my career. When you publicly denied our relationship online and stood up for Vera Yves, did you ever consider my situation?"
"I never promised to get back together with you."
"You think Vera Yves will still be with you?" Jane Shea let out a cold laugh, "Miles Monroe, stop dreaming! Do you think you can outdo Winston Valentine?"
