To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 193: Two more days to the wedding
Things got rather hectic going forward. Since both families agreed to hold the wedding the next week, preparations began in strong waves.
Chin-hwa didn’t do much but sat still and chose the colors, as well as the themes they had picked out. It might’ve looked like an easy job, but it wasn’t easy at all.
It was hard to choose between plain white and crystal white, sartin and ladin. The things were so similar, and he had no knowledge of those things, so he had trouble choosing.
"I’ll take it from here, baby." Hae-won said and decided to just take on the responsibility of picking out stuff from there.
Kang-woo was busy as well. As the groom, he had way more responsibilities, and then there was school.
Luckily, they were about to start their internship program, so there weren’t any more scheduled classes.
But from the looks of it, Chin-hwa wouldn’t be able to participate in the internship program. Not when his stomach would start inflating gradually.
He had to stay home and relax.
But even home wasn’t very safe because Baek-Hyun had decided to run for president.
So, his family would constantly be in harm’s way.
Between Baek-Hyun and Tae-won, one of them had to run for president, but neither wanted to take on the responsibility, so they decided their fates with rock, paper, scissors.
It was such a reckless way to decide their fate, but that was the only way to finally get one of them to take on the position, and as it turned out, Baek-Hyun lost.
So, for Chin-hwa’s safety, he would need to leave the country.
Woo-bin offered to go with them, but Hae-won was seriously against it.
"Why not?"
"Because I don’t want you to." There was no clear reason, but Hae-won didn’t want Woo-bin to go with them.
Instead of him, he would be more at ease if their siblings went with them.
Since their competitors would very much try to target their children, it would be better to send them all out of the country.
It was a decision they came to after a series of debates on who was going to go with Kang-woo and Chin-hwa on their honeymoon.
The last phase of the election will be held in five months. Just in time for them to bring back Chin-hwa before he was due for labor.
"Sigh." Chin-hwa exclaimed as he swung his legs in exhaustion.
He had his hand in his hoodie, rubbing his belly.
Two more days to the wedding. But it all still didn’t feel real.
He stared at the sky. The stars were out and the moon was shining so beautifully.
Winter was over, and spring had taken over, so the nights weren’t so cold. He was able to escape their excessive care and hide outside.
But if they were to find him outside, he wouldn’t hear the end of it.
He looked at his stomach. A baby was growing in there.
He just couldn’t believe it, no matter how many times he saw the baby bump and his test results. He was also getting married. He was getting married to Kang-woo.
The boy he had liked all his life.
Maybe it was that fact that made it seem even more unreal. Because he had only ever imagined it and never thought it would come to reality this quickly.
"Hwa," he heard Kang-woo’s voice and raised his head to find him walking out of the house.
"Byul," he called softly.
Kang-woo walked out and stood before him.
"They said they would take care of the results for the internship program." He said to Chin-hwa, who nodded.
He expected that. After all, he made it clear that he still wanted to go to school, so during the time when he was taking care of his pregnancy, the school would be notified that he was doing his internship program, but he wasn’t doing it at all.
He wouldn’t have any experience in that field, but what could he do about it? Nothing.
He would just have to build his experience slowly after he was done with school.
"Hwa, I’m sorry." Kang-woo apologized, and Chin-hwa chuckled dryly.
"It’s the sixth time this week." He said. "How long do you plan to keep apologizing?"
"For as long as it takes." Kang-woo said and then went on his knees, holding Chin-hwa’s hands. "It might not have been intentional, and I had no control over it, but it is still true that I’m the reason our lives have to be rushed like this."
Chin-hwa sighed.
"And I keep telling you that it’s fine." He said, and watched Kang-woo kiss his hands. "You’re just worrying for nothing. I’m happy. I’m happy that I’m having you to myself sooner than I anticipated."
"But you’re also going to be a mother sooner than you anticipated as well." Kang-woo added, and Chin-hwa frowned, taking out one hand from his and flicking his forehead.
"You don’t need to say things that’ll ruin the moment." He said and pouted. "I love you, Kang-woo. And I think I love you more than I love myself, so I hate it when you beat yourself up for your concern over me. I... I wish you would simply think of yourself more."
Kang-woo rested his head on Chin-hwa’s leg.
"Your words comfort me." He said softly, and Chin-hwa brushed his hair with his fingers. "I want to live with you forever. I want to be your husband, the one you can rely on. I dreamt a lot of the day I would go down on my knees and open a ring box, but it was only a dream. I never had the courage."
"Do you still not have the courage?" Chin-hwa asked, but he laughed and raised his head.
"I do now." He looked deeply into Chin-hwa’s eyes and said, "At least, it’s one thing I can do without anyone pushing me into it."
Chin-hwa thought he was just saying that, but then he watched Kang-woo dip his hand in his pocket and bring out an ash colored ring box.
"I know we’re already getting married the day after tomorrow and there’s no longer a choice but..." He opened the ring box. "I wanted to at least have the privilege of asking you, just like the movies. Just like it’s supposed to be."
