To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 174: So, why did you approach me?
Meanwhile, Chin-hwa, who ended his performance and was looking for where Kang-woo had run off to, got a text from Yun-tae.
’Is he that drunk? Or...’ he couldn’t exactly rule out the possibility of his rut coming a day early, so maybe Kang-woo was already feeling the signs and went to take a rest. ’But he should’ve informed me, regardless.’
They already planned that he would help him so why would he go and hide if his rut had finally come? Or was he just overthinking it and he was just tired from having a few drinks?
Whatever the reason, he would find out once he saw him.
He planned to head straight to Kang-woo’s room, but he got caught up in the socialites who wanted to make connections with him in order to get in the good books of both his fathers.
Everyone knew the apple of the Sun family was Chin-hwa, so to get the rest of the family to like them and see them in a good light, they had to look the most pleasing in Chin-hwa’s eyes.
But even when they approached politely, Chin-hwa felt it was too crowded, hated the attention, and absolutely did not want to get involved in their attempts to look good in front of his fathers, so he politely declined each time they wished to share a drink with him.
But he couldn’t reject everyone. Some of his relatives were there and people he was familiar with from going with his papa to the company. And, of course, people like the president’s second son, who was about his age but regrettably an Alpha.
Those were the people he shared drinks with and the last one happened to be the president’s son. He drank so well that he impressed all who wished to share a drink with him but what they didn’t know was that he was only good at holding his liquor in that moment.
And the consequences of drinking too much would start to kick in about five to fifteen minutes after putting down his glass.
It depends on how much he drinks but he wasn’t been considering that and just drank everything he couldn’t avoid while ignoring the ones he could.
It was said that the president’s first son was a Beta, regrettably. So, he was kind of a disgrace or something like that. But his father surely wasn’t proud of him for him to not even take him to such a popular gathering and dig his roots into the world of the powerful.
The second son, however, being an Alpha, seemed to be quite proud that his father had high hopes for his future and had even started putting him into politics so he could make connections and suck up to the rich and powerful.
Chin-hwa got to know all this while listening to the drunk son dabble on and on about how he had eaten dinner with the prime minister, the ambassador of France and England, and so on and so on.
Chin-hwa rolled his eyes. Could he be any more predictable?
"So, why did you approach me?" Chin-hwa asked him and this guy smirked, looking at Chin-hwa as though he were a fish in the sea and boldly claimed.
"My father said when I’m older, I can have whatever I want with the snap of my fingers including all the Omega I could ever want. And that includes you,"
His words immediately irked Chin-hwa.
"Excuse me?"
"Haha, you don’t have to act shy." He reached his hand towards Chin-hwa’s face but Chin-hwa moved his face back, staring at him like he was a cockroach. "You’re not young, you shouldn’t act so naive. You should realize it by now. Our parents are both powerful, and they’re so close, so it is only natural that they would want to pair up me, the handsome and brilliant president’s son, and you, the only Omega of the Sun family."
Now, Chin-hwa felt insulted. Close? He had no idea what that meant. The kind of close relationship that his parents would have for them to hope for marriage was with Kang-woo’s family.
’That’ was the definition of close and not what this hillbilly was spouting.
"This was a mistake. I merely wasted my time on junk like you." Chin-hwa said, not even trying to filter his words as he got up and this got him angry.
"What did you just call me?"
"You heard me. I called you junk. You’re a piece of trash who doesn’t know when to shut up. Now, go suck your papa’s toe or something so he can make you the world’s greatest. I don’t care. I have better things to do." He looked away. ’I hope Kang-woo is doing okay. I shouldn’t have wasted time with this piece of junk.’
He planned to leave right away but his insults did not go unheard as the president’s son gritted his teeth in anger and grabbed his arm, squeezing tightly.
"Ah, I heard the young master was quite arrogant," he said, his grip tightening even more.
"Are you insane? Let go." Chin-hwa tried to take his hand off, but his grip kept tightening, and he even went as far as releasing his Pheromones to intimidate Chin-hwa.
It was as if he had no idea where he was anymore because he was drunk.
They were seated next to a window, far from their parents but Chin-hwa’s alarming expression was enough to alert them that something was going on.
"Ha, I should probably put you in your place." He said and grinned maniacally. "I’ll show you why an Alpha will always be above a useless Omega like you."
He spread his Pheromones and Chin-hwa covered his nose. This fool... What was wrong with him?
’I can’t inhale his Pheromones. It’ll just make me suffer.’ Chin-hwa did his best to hold his breath but the pores in his skin had already breathed it in.
"Haha, how’s that? How does it feel to be overpowered by a powerful Alpha such as mys--" his words were cut right there as his head met with a bottle of champagne.
The bottle broke, of course, its entire content spilling on his body, mixing with the blood flowing from his head.
"There, does his ’highness’ seem sober now?" It was He-Nari, and behind him were Si-woo and Deok-ryu who had no idea such a thing was going to happen.
He threw down the remaining bottle head in his hand and then adjusted his coat. But then, he noticed the champagne had slashed a bit on his pants.
"Shoot! Now I have to change."
It was clear he held no remorse for his actions and didn’t even care who he had hit until the president raised an alarm.
"What in the world?!" He stared at his son, whose head had been bashed in with a bottle of champagne.
"Oh, you’re here." He said nonchalantly and grabbed his son’s collar in front of him and threw him down. "Your son has something to say. I’m sure he’d like to apologize for causing a disturbance on this fine evening. But don’t worry; I already disciplined him, so he’ll definitely not do it again," he glanced down at him, glaring with murderous eyes. "Right?"
There was no response from the boy and Nari nudged him a bit with his feet and realized he was unconscious.
"Oh, he’s unconscious." He sighed. "Guess he couldn’t take the heat of his own actions and fainted."
The president was livid. Just what in the hell was this Omega talking about?
He had done such a barbaric thing and he was saying it was all his son’s doing? Everyone had seen it.
Did he take all of them there as a fool? Did he have no respect for him as the president?
"This... This is insanity. Who is this child?" He pointed his finger at Nari and then turned to Baek-Hyun who was beside him. "Chairman Baek, I don’t believe this attitude should be condoned. What is the meaning of this?"
But Baek-Hyun’s attention was on Chin-hwa who was holding his chest and breathing roughly.
He walked up to Chin-hwa and asked,
"How are you okay, baby?"
Chin-hwa raised his head to see his father and then nodded.
"Yes, but..." He looked past his father at all the eyes on him and then at the president whose veins would pop out of his head any moment. "I’d like to leave now." He requested and Baek-Hyun brushed his hair back, kissed his forehead, and said,
"Alright, go get some rest."
"What? Are you just going to let him go?" The president asked as he watched Chin-hwa leaving, but He-Nari stood in front of him, blocking his view, and said as he pointed at the poster on the wall.
"Did you see that, mister Presido?" He asked and the president peered his eyes to see what was written in it. "Let me help you since you’re my elder. It says, ’No releasing of Pheromones. Violation of this and you’ll get a bottle to your head’. It’s a rule that everyone must follow, regardless but your son over there broke that rule. And not just to anyone, but to the child of the host right now." He had this piercing gaze that made it impossible to get past him. "Did you think we would tolerate it just because he is your son?"
