To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 143: I’m fine, but you really went overboard
"Hah," Myung-woo exclaimed, cracking his knuckles. "I was taught to respect my elders and treat them with care but honestly, I felt so much better after doing that." He glared at him. "Maybe I’ll feel much better after beating you to a pulp, you sick son of a bitch!"
He hit Yun-tae’s father one more time.
Yun-tae had no idea things would escalate to this extent. He didn’t even imagine it.
He thought he would just come and talk, and after rejecting his father’s words, he would leave and never answer him again.
But to think Myung-woo would appear out of nowhere and cause a scene.
He had to stop it. Myung-woo had an image as a musician, and though he didn’t know how famous he was, he was sure this would have a negative impact on his career if anyone managed to recognize him.
"Hyung, that’s... that’s enough." He said, holding his arm and stopping him from hitting him anymore. "Please, let’s just go."
"You’re lucky your son has such a big and warm heart." Myung-woo pointed at Yun-tae’s father. "If you have a problem with your family then you should fix it when you still have hair growing on your head. Don’t push responsibilities to your son, who hasn’t even graduated from college yet. And it’s a son you never smiled at. You disgust me so much that I wish I could pummel your face until no one in the world can recognize you but I’ll let you off today. If you so much dare to approach my Yun, I’ll kill you."
Yun-tae was touched but that was not the time to be having googly eyes and stare in admiration.
They had drawn quite the crowd and there were even people who took pictures and recorded the entire incident.
"Let’s go, let’s go." He pulled Myung-woo until they were out of the cafe.
Someone had called the police, but before the police arrived there, Yun-tae and Myung-woo were already gone.
Though, Yun-tae’s father reported that his son had brought a stranger to beat him up in public, throwing baseless accusations at them but the police, who had seen the entire footage of what had happened, looked at him like he was a crazy old man and yawned.
"Sir, if you have issues with your son and his partner, then you should take care of it in private. Don’t drag these things to the public and disturb civilians. It’s embarrassing that you’re even making a complaint when you had started the whole thing."
Yun-tae’s father trembled in fury. What were they talking about? He was the victim here.
"Seriously, who tries to pour a cup of hot coffee on their son?" One police officer asked with a sneer.
"I’m telling you. It’s like they’re filming a movie or something. It’s so awful."
Even society wouldn’t tolerate a man who mistreated their son to that extent.
"You better leave now, ’good sir’, or else we’re going to open a file with the charges of child abuse." The policeman said, glaring at him. "If you’re able to do this to your son when he’s all grown up, there’s no telling what you’ve done to him all while he was growing up. You’re disgusting."
And like that, the pages of Yun-tae’s father harassing him ended there.
He did pity his half-brother. He pitied him for being born into that family and hoped he wouldn’t manifest as an Omega under any circumstances if not...
"Are you okay?" Myung-woo asked and Yun-tae turned to him. He had this genuine expression on his face while staring at him with concern in his eyes.
"I’m fine, but you really went overboard," Yun-tae said, worried but Myung-woo shook his head and said,
"No, I didn’t." He wrapped his arms around Yun-tae’s shoulder and said, "What I did isn’t even one-tenth of what that bastard has done to you."
Yun-tae was once again touched and he blushed.
Seriously, he didn’t ask him to do any of that but...
"Thank you," he said.
"Come on, give me a reward." Myung-woo shamelessly requested, pressing his cheeks to his. "A reward like a kiss, for example. Or--"
His words were cut short then Yun-tae moved his head and pressed his lips to Myung-woo’s cheek.
"There," he blushed while covering his face. "will that do?"
Myung-woo was surprised. He didn’t think Yun-tae would do it, but he did, and it was a cute little peck on his cheek.
He smiled.
"Yeah, it’s more than enough." He said. "I like all the rewards Yun-tae gives to me, and no matter how small, it’s still so heartwarming, so it’s enough."
"Ah," Yun-tae blushed harder. Why was he saying such cheesy lines?
"Come on, let’s go celebrate breaking free from the bondage of such a family." Myung-woo said, holding his hands as he stood up from the bench.
This caused Yun-tae to remember a few triggering words he had said while he was talking to his father.
"Speaking of, why did you say you were my father’s in-law?"
"Oh, come on, did you think I would give up on you for anything?" He asked, smirking. "I’m still waiting for your answer on Christmas day but even if it’s not positive, I don’t plan to give up. I will..." He pulled Yun-tae up and into his arms, wrapping his arms around his waist. "...do everything I can to make you my bride, Yun-tae. That’s a promise."
Yun-tae’s eyes widened. Ah, things went beyond what he had been thinking of all along.
He thought he just wanted to be his boyfriend, so why were they talking about marriage all of a sudden? He asked confused.
Myung-woo saw the swirls in Yun-tae’s eyes and laughed.
"But before that, let’s get to know each other better, don’t you think?" He let go of his waist but still held on to his hand. "Let’s go."
Yun-tae watched him as he led him away. It was warm again.
He always wanted to find someone who could make him happy. Someone who would overwrite his knowledge of a family with a lighter and softer pen. Someone who would create a happy family with him.
Had his wish been answered already?
Was Myung-woo that someone?
He couldn’t help but feel he had found him too easily and during a time when he had been conflicted and having feelings for two different people at the same time.
It was as if he was there to clear up that confusion and give him a new direction to throw his feelings at.
They went to a cafe and had bubble tea and coffee, getting to know each other’s favorite drinks and least favorite drinks.
Yun-tae hated black coffee but that was the only thing he knew he hated.
"More black coffee for me then," Myung-woo said as he laughed.
As for the others... He didn’t want to waste his money buying things he wouldn’t like so he always stuck to a few that he was okay with.
So, Myung-woo decided to order everything and get him to taste them all and determine the ones he liked the most and the ones he hated.
So far, he wasn’t only with a few of them but loved the rest.
They moved from there and went to a restaurant.
Myung-woo was going to pull that same stunt and order different dishes for him to have a taste but Yun-tae was against it.
They would just be wasting food since he wouldn’t be able to eat them all.
They could each learn the kinds of food they did not like with time.
"I don’t like greasy food," Myung-woo said and Yun-tae nodded.
"Me too, but I love spicy food."
"Not too spicy for me but I think I could handle an extra spice if I had a glass of milk right now to me." He said and they laughed.
"You’re just like a kid," Yun-tae said as he laughed and Myung-woo nodded.
"Well, I don’t play with my stomach so whatever I need to do to be able to feel okay, I will do it." He said.
Yun-tae stared at him while smiling. He was so fun to spend time with.
"Okay, where should we go next?"
"Wanna grab a drink with me?" Myung-woo asked. "I know a great bar that serves nice shots of tequila," he said and Yun-tae paused. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
"You’re not referring to ’there’ are you?" He asked and Myung-woo recalled that Yun-tae’s worked there.
"Oh, it might be awkward so let’s go someplace else. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable, I just got carried away and..."
"No, it’s fine. It’s not that I’m uncomfortable; I just never thought our tequilas were that good, though I had heard about it from a few customers."
"You never tried the drinks you sell, right?"
"Only a few times but I only accept the ones I can handle. It would be bad if I got drunk while still working." Yun-tae explained. "Anyway, let’s go there. I need to ask my boss when my paid leave is ending. It’s been two weeks but I haven’t heard anything from him."
Myung-woo flinched and then darted his eyes away. He wasn’t going to realize it, right?
"Wow, you look like you’re eager to get back to work." He said but Yun-tae shook his head.
"No, I actually hate working there, but if I’m receiving a salary for not doing anything, I’ll feel uncomfortable. After all," he stood up and smiled. "Nothing comes for free, right?"
