To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 129: A confession from a stranger was so overwhelming
"All my life," Myung-woo answered with the warmest and sweetest smile.
This made Yun-tae’s heart skip a beat again. His simple and direct lines had a way of making his heart leap.
His face flushed, but he maintained eye contact, wishing he could stop time at that moment. The moment when it felt like there was nothing but warmth and golden lights in the world.
Myung-woo’s hands were on Yun-tae’s waist and though this was a bit inappropriate since their relationship wasn’t exactly an intimate one but if Yun-tae was okay with it then he didn’t have anything to worry about.
"I’m sorry," Yun-tae apologized. "Sorry that I don’t remember you."
"It’s alright," Myung-woo answered. "That’s the past. What matters is the present, isn’t it? We can also worry about the future later."
Yun-tae nodded, pursing his lips. He had started becoming aware of their position and his head was slowly getting jumbled.
Just how did he get on top of Myung-woo in such an intimate position? And he could feel his hands on his waist as well.
How did this happen?
"Yun-tae," Myung-woo called and he looked up at him. "I would never mess with you." He said with a serious face and Yun-tae realized he was still bothered by what he said.
One more proof to show that he was sincere.
His heart grew warm.
Myung-woo was such a nice person. So nice and sweet, and handsome too. He looked like life was going great for him and yet he had been waiting for someone like him all along? Was someone like that really interested in him?
He wanted to ask. He wanted to know.
He didn’t want to be led on by the tooth, only to be mistaken later on. He didn’t want to fall into an unrequited love again, so while he still wasn’t sure how he felt about him, he needed to know what Myung-woo felt about him.
"Do you really care about me?" He asked and Myung-woo nodded.
"I do."
Yun-tae’s heart was racing with anticipation and maxed-out curiosity.
"Do you..." He pursed his lips, wetting them with his saliva. "...like me?"
Myung-woo heard this and smiled.
"I do."
Yun-tae’s heart kept racing in that manner and then he thought of how to finally ask the last question. Only then, would he know what to do next.
"Do you really... Like me?"
He couldn’t do it. He couldn’t ask if he loved him. Maybe he was going too fast. Maybe he was rushing things. Love was a really strong word.
Myung-woo, sensing Yun-tae’s insecurity, brushed his hair softly and decided to just skip all the processes he had planned out in his head and go straight to the point.
He wished they could have spent more time together and gotten to know each other better before he revealed his true feelings but something told him that if he did not clarify things now, he would lose the chance to do so in the future.
"Yun-tae," he called and Yun-tae’s face sunk into his palm, looking absolutely mesmerizing and irresistible. "...I love you."
That confession caused Yun-tae’s heart to bloom like a rose. His face flushed and he hid his face.
He dropped his face on Myung-woo’s chest to hide how much he was blushing. He was as red as a tomato.
It was a few simple words and yet they left quite an impact. Heavy impact.
"Yun-tae, are you okay?" Myung-woo asked but Yun-tae couldn’t speak. His heart was beating so fast and loud that it was blocking his voice.
A confession from a stranger was so overwhelming. No, at this point, was he even a stranger?
Sure, he didn’t know anything about him, but he wasn’t completely clueless either. The taste of his mouth was sweet, and the soft green pheromones he emitted were also sweet and serene, like a calm forest.
And when he gazed into his face that warmth and sincerity that bled from his eyes was enough to drown him in a sweet dream.
Had anyone ever gazed at him with such sincerity? Had anyone ever spoken such sweet and serene words to him? Had anyone ever showered him with the passion this man was raining on him?
He was not a stranger and even if he knew little to nothing about him, it felt like they had known each other all their lives.
Was this another definition of love that he did not know about?
"Hyung," Yun-tae called, still keeping his head down because he was shy. "I don’t know if I can return your feelings right away," he said. "But I do have some feelings for you. I don’t know if it stems from gratitude or your warm arms around me but... I’m positive that it’s not something that will disappear in the blink of an eye."
Myung-woo exhaled in relief, wrapping his arms around Yun-tae and pressing his head to his chest deeper.
"That’s good enough." He said. "At least, I have a chance."
Yun-tae could hear Myung-woo’s heartbeat racing. He must’ve been nervous. He was probably scared that after all that, he would get rejected.
"I wondered a lot if you had no other desire but to save me like a Knight." Yun-tae said. "You made sure to emphasize that when I need help, you’d be there to help me. Was that all?"
Myung-woo went silent and then said,
"If I said I had no other desire but to take care of you and save you whenever I can then I’d be lying," he stroked Yun-tae’s hair. "I desire to have you in my life more."
Yun-tae’s eyes widened.
"It’s weird, isn’t it?" Myung-woo asked and Yun-tae nodded slightly.
"Yes, it is."
They had come out to talk about the reason he was crying too bitterly and alone in the cafe shop, but here they were, having a heart to heart confession.
Yun-tae preferred this topic to the one that involved his father, but he wouldn’t be able to run from it. He would have to bring it up at some point.
And now, he was certain that he could open up to Myung-woo without worrying since he was someone who loved him.
"Ah," Yun-tae exclaimed as a sudden realization hit him.
"What is it?"
"We kissed." He said, raising his head. "And I just realized that I’m still in a relationship, so isn’t this cheating?"
