Chapter 127: Was there no other desire?

After a while of silence, when Yun-tae was ready to talk, Myung-woo said,

"Do you want to go somewhere else?"

Yun-tae looked at him, wondering what he had in mind. He looked around the shop and felt they had stayed there for too long, so it was better to go someplace else and talk.

Who knows? He just might burst into tears again and make Myung-woo seem like the bad guy.

He nodded and Myung-woo stood up first, stretched his hand towards Yun-Tae, and said,

"Here, take my hand."

Yun-tae looked at his outstretched hand and then at his face. Was he worried he would fall?

How considerate of him.

Yun-tae did not refuse his offer because he was unsure if he would do well on his own. If he refused and ended up falling cause his knees gave in then he wouldn’t be able to look Myung-woo in the face again.

Nothing comes from being stubborn.

"Thank you," Yun-tae said as he took his hand.

Myung-woo smiled seeing Yun-tae take his hand without hesitation. He felt he was opening up to him but this wasn’t enough. He wanted to know more. He wanted him to be even more comfortable around him.

Yun-tae stood to his feet, and just as he feared, his knees gave in, but luckily, Myung-woo held him tight and stopped him from falling.

"Are you okay?" Myung-woo asked and Yun-tae nodded, smiling faintly.

"Yeah, thank you."

His eyes were still swollen from crying too much, so they kind of looked like the mouth of a pufferfish, but Myung-woo couldn’t even laugh even if he looked adorable like this.

"I’ll help you up." Myung-woo said and aided him till he was able to balance properly on his feet.

They both walked out of there with Yun-tae biting his lips in embarrassment as they all stared at him.

He had caused quite a scene.

"You’ll be fine," Myung-woo whispered, clenching his hand tightly and Yun-tae nodded. "Let’s go to my car. No one will hear us there."

Myung-woo’s car was parked a little distance from the cafe, so while they walked, Yun-tae couldn’t help but glance at their locked hands.

Was this really okay? He wondered.

He didn’t even know who this guy was, where he was from, or even his name but... He was allowing him to comfort him, say sweet words that warmed his heart, and hold his hand while they walked down the street.

Anyone who saw them would definitely misunderstand their relationship.

They weren’t even friends but they were holding hands. This was a bit too much.

And yet... He couldn’t think of slipping his hand out of his grip.

It was warm and comforting.

On this cold winter day, the comfort Myung-woo gave him was as hot and wild as a bonfire.

Instinctively, he etched closer and gripped Myung-woo’s arm, resting his head on it which surprised Myung-woo.

"It’s... It’s warm." Yun-tae muttered, his face slightly flushing.

What sort of embarrassing action was he carrying out? And that excuse... Who would fall for it?

Apparently, Myung-woo.

He patted Yun-Tae’s head with his other hand and said with a smile,

"Then stay close. We’ll get to my car soon."

Yun-tae nodded.

His heart was racing. Just what was this?

This reaction of his heart was similar to what he felt when he was with Kang-woo and Chin-hwa but for some reason... This time, it was stronger.

Like a string pulling his heart towards a direction with no vivid destination goal. He was a bit worried but he decided not to think too much about this.

He said he would come to save him and that was what he was doing. He was here to save him from his pain. But... Would it end there? Was there really nothing he wanted other than saving him?

Was there no other desire?

Yun-tae pressed his lips tightly together in confusion. The questions he had... When would he get the answers?

They finally got to Myung-woo’s car and Myung-woo opened the door for Yun-tae.

Yun-tae got in and Myung-woo shut the door, hurrying towards the other side to get in the driver’s seat.

"Is it weird?" Yun-tae suddenly asked as Myung-woo entered the car. "I’m so trusting of you when I don’t even know your name."

Myung-woo looked at him and then a smile played on his lips.

He crossed his arms on the steering wheel and then rested his head on it, gazing at Yun-tae intently and affectionately.

"It is weird." Myung-woo answered. "You shouldn’t be so trusting of strangers."

"Then..." Yun-tae twiddled his thumbs and gulped down the lump that had suddenly appeared in his throat. "Are you saying I shouldn’t trust you?"

"Why shouldn’t you? I’m not a stranger, am I?" He asked and laughed.

"You are a stranger," Yun-tae answered, causing Myung-woo to pause his laughter. "I know next to nothing about you. If you at least told me your name then I wouldn’t be so clueless," he said, brushing his cheek with his palm. "What should I call you?"

Myung-woo went silent and then suddenly got closer to Yun-tae, pushing his face towards his.

He was too close and Yun-tae had to dart his eyes away to avoid direct eye contact since it was awkward but then Myung-woo grabbed his hand and said,

"Whether I’m a stranger or not, I’m someone who cares for you. Someone who can help you. Someone who wants to help you, even if you refuse my help. I’m someone who..." He smiled softly, brushing Yun-tae’s hair smashed gently. "...would even go to the ends of the Earth for you."

Yun-tae’s heart skipped a beat. That was a confession, right? That was a freaking confession and it was making his heart pound.

It was no different from all the things he had been saying so far but still... His words had a way of affecting his heart.

"Why would you..." He almost choked on his own words and gulped. "Why would you go so far? Even if you knew me in the past, even if... It shouldn’t be enough reason for you to say these things. What did you...?" He shook his head, planning to rephrase his question. "What did I do for you?"

"You saved my life, Yun-tae."
