Chapter 262: Chapter 262 Big problem

*DANICA*

It was Saturday now and Philip is in my house again.

He was becoming a big problem to me.

I felt he was overdoing this “acting thing”

I watched him stare at Lucy as she was making a painting with Lorenzo.

He didn’t go to work today as well.

"Lucy, honey, will you like to go to the playground? Daddy would really like to spend some time with you.”

She lifted up her head. “I’m making a painting, it’s my homework.” She replied.

"I could wait till you’re done."

Sighing, she stared at me and Lorenzo.

"Can Andro come along too?"

Philip’s jaw clenched. “Sure, no problem." He bit out.

****************************

I sat on a rock chair in the playground feeling so tired of everything.

I watched Lorenzo come around and sat beside me.

"So Philip is back for you and his daughter.” He began.

"He can never be part of our lives again. I’m going to figure out a way to kick him out of our lives for good." I let out.

I didn’t need anyone believing Philip was here to stay.

He just had to appear to be Lucy’s Dad for the mean time.

"I’m kinda jealous of him"

I eyed him.

"I wish I’m Lucy’s dad. But I wouldn’t be an asshole like him who left you before she was born. We would have been married and...." He paused. “Sorry, I shouldn’t be whinning like a pussy.”

I know he’s still trying to get over his feelings for me.

It pains me that he has to.

But we both have to.

After I get Philip and I conclude this act, I have to tell Lorenzo who he is.

"Andro."Lucy called and he hurried over to her.

Watching Lorenzo and Philip hover around my daughter every where she goes was so funny to watch.

They both argued about who to push her on the swing and I ended up doing it so they could take their anger far away from my daughter.

This was the most awkward outing ever.

********************

*LORENZO*

"Good night, mommy.” Lucy said hugging Danica when we got home.

When she disengaged from her, she ran into my arms.

"Good night, Andro."

"Good night, princess."

"No hugs for Daddy?"Philip asked.

He keeps emphasizing the word "Daddy"

It makes me angry that he’s here to claim them as his and I don’t even have a say or chance to stop it.

Lucy hugged him and then walked away.

Danica walked off too.

As I turned around, Philip threw three bundles of money at me.

"If that’s not enough, I will triple it. Just find a place to stay...get your own life and leave my family alone.”

"Are you kidding me right now?"

“I asked Lucy about you and she told me that she and Danica found you at the beach wounded and now, you’re suffering from amnesia. Well, sorry about that but your presence in this house is ruining everything.”

"Ruining what exactly? What is your plan for them? Do you even have genuine intentions for them."

"They’re my family and of course, my intentions towards them are genuine.

I made a mistake before and so I’m here to correct that mistake and make it up to them but I can’t do that with you around. You should understand me, man. I do not like the way my daughter is all over you."

"That’s not my fault and I won’t leave this house simply because you asked me to."

He bent down and picked up his money, clenching his fist in his wake.

I glared at him, getting ready for a fight.

"What are you still doing here?"And that was Danica walking into the living room.

Philip sighed."I was about leaving. Goodnight, Danica. He spun and walked away.

I stared at her as she left the living room.

What if Philip succeeds in getting them back?

I felt like a big loser already.

**********************

I couldn’t go with Lucy and Danica when they went out with Philip on the weekend again.

I had work to do but by the time I came home.

It was as if he had won them over completely.

I stayed by the door of the dining room and watched him feed Lucy, Danica was smiling so lovingly at him.

"I need water, daddy.” Lucy requested.

She had started calling him Daddy now?

I didn’t go in...I felt going in would ruin the happiness among the family.

I left the house and went to Markus’ place.

"Oh man, this is heartbreak 101.” He let out after I told him what had transpired that evening.

"You’re not helping.”

"Well, there are only two sayings I can provide here, some people say if someone is meant for you, they would surely find their way back to you."

"I’m not sure Danica is meant for you. She doesn’t even like me.”

"And the next saying is that you should fight for what you want.”

I huffed. “Fight? It would be as if I’m fighting a lost battle."

"So you’re giving up?"

"Yes, it’s the right thing to do but if I keep seeing her, my feelings for her grow stronger so it’s best if I don’t see her anymore. Can I stay with you for the meantime until I get better? We could pay the rent jointly."

Markus sighed and nodded. “Sure"

I leaned against the couch.

My chest hurts so badly and it’s as if I’m going to die from it.

My cellphone started ringing.

I glanced at it.

It was Danica.

Taking a deep breath,I picked up.

"Hey, it’s getting late, where are you?"

"Something...I’ll be working very late today, I might not come home.”

"Really?"

"Danica, can I get what to change into please?"

My heart sunk hearing Philip’s voice.

He was spending the night with her?

"Yeah...goodnight.” With that, I hung up.

Why was it so hard to like me. Danica...even if it’s a bit?

*DANICA*

"Where is Andro?" Lucy asked as she got ready for school.

"He’s at work.”

"He doesn’t come home anymore?"

"He will.”

I gulped wondering when he would come home as well.

I think I might have gone too far with this acting. Worse, Philip seemed so engrossed in it and now my daughter calls him Daddy.

I felt so bad for playing with my daughter like this but it was too late to do anything about it.

I have to find away to make Philip go away now,

I felt he was becoming too comfortable in his role.

He surely wasn’t thinking he would become a permanent figure in our lives, was he?

He used the excuse that it was late and he spent the night at the living room, at the couch...that was Lorenzo’s spot.

He only made me think of Lorenzo more and more.

When Philip held my hand, I tried to feel something, maybe a spark or that feeling of electricity that Lorenzo always sprung up in me.

But it wasn’t there.

I wasn’t a bit attracted to Philip.

At noon, that day, Lorenzo came back.

I couldn’t explain the joy I felt.

"Hey.” I began, awkwardly.

He suppressed his lips in a tight line.

"I’m here to get my clothes.”

I frowned. “Why?"
