Tiny Genius Alert! Mom & Dad Better Make Peace-Chapter 711 - 8: How Long Has It Been Since They Spoke Alone?
Tang Yige’s eyes widened, and her fingers tightened suddenly around the phone.
Why would he voluntarily call her?
Too shocked, Tang Yige couldn’t believe it and stood there holding the phone in a daze, not replying to him for a long while.
"Tang Yige."
The man’s gentle voice came through again.
Tang Yige could hear a hint of impatience from it.
In her mind appeared that person’s slightly stern and handsome face, his brows furrowed slightly.
Taking a deep breath, Tang Yige almost used all her self-control to make her voice sound less out of control, "Uh-huh. Is there something you need?"
Tang Yige did not think there was anything wrong with what she said.
But after she said this, there was no response from the other end for several minutes.
Her heart clenched slightly.
She couldn’t help but let her thoughts run wild.
Did he suddenly not want to talk to her anymore?
Was he angry because she replied slowly?
Or... did her tone just now make him uncomfortable?
As Tang Yige thought about it, her pretty nose wrinkled tightly, and her clean, beautiful face showed a deeply conflicted expression.
"Otherwise? Do you think I would call you for no reason? You know how I feel about you, Tang Yige."
Rong Sinan’s voice sounded really cold!
Tang Yige gave a bitter smile.
Yeah.
He disliked her so much.
He didn’t want anyone he cared about to get close to her.
Getting close to ink stains you!
And she was that "ink."
"...I suppose you don’t want to say more than a word to me either, so let’s keep it short to spare us both." Tang Yige said softly.
"I really don’t want to say more than a word to you!"
He suddenly deepened his voice, as if he was angry again.
Tang Yige frowned, her fingertips unconsciously pinching the phone, remaining silent.
She feared that if she spoke, it would upset him more, so she chose to say nothing.
"Come out, I’ll leave once I’ve said my piece!" Rong Sinan said coldly.
"Come out..."
Tang Yige’s puzzled voice had just come out when she heard the busy tone of the phone being hung up.
Tang Yige’s frown deepened, and her pearly teeth gently bit her lower lip.
...
In about five minutes, Yige had prepared herself and hurried downstairs.
Though he hadn’t specified where to meet, she thought about it, if he had something to say to her, he wouldn’t possibly leave the location unclear.
So, the only possibility was that he should be downstairs of the photo studio.
Exiting the studio, Yige looked around and saw a Bentley quietly parked at the corner of the road on the left side of the studio.
The Bentley was low-key and black, just like him.
Yige’s gaze fixed on the car, her heartbeat erratically fast.
How long had it been since they last spoke a word alone?
It must have been more than a year!
What would he say to her?
Yige’s mind was in a mess, and combined with her racing heart, she felt as though she had caught a severe cold, struggling to breathe.
...
Rong Sinan sat in the car, and from the moment Tang Yige emerged from the studio, his gaze had been fixed on her.
It was already winter.
She was only wearing a long qipao, the slit not very high, revealing the skin of her calves from between the fabric, glaringly white.
Her wavy hair, charming in its waves, draped over her left shoulder and chest, and her neck hidden at the clasp of the qipao collar was long and slender.
Her face was also thin, with a pointed chin, and her slightly parted red lips emitted light breaths, like white mist wafting in the air. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
With those alluring eyes like a fox, the corners slightly tilted upward, full of water, such an expression was a lethal temptation to men.
This woman, not only possessed a face that could captivate men’s souls but also had a heart as insincere as a fox’s!
Rong Sinan’s eyes narrowed slightly, a mocking tinge quietly crossing over his clear eyes.
It was unclear whether he was mocking himself or Tang Yige.
Tang Yige lightly embraced herself as she walked to the side of Rong Sinan’s car, without opening the door, looking hesitantly at Rong Sinan’s elegantly cold profile.
"Do you plan on standing outside the car and talking to me?" Rong Sinan frowned, turning his chilly gaze towards Yige, his tone filled with impatience and displeasure.
Yige sighed inwardly; naturally, she wouldn’t have the audacity to sit beside him in the front seat, so she opened the back door and sat inside.
Once inside, a warmth immediately enveloped her.
Yige didn’t find it comfortable and took a deep breath.
Her arms slowly slid down from embracing herself, and Yige lightly bit her lower lip, looking at Rong Sinan from behind.
Rong Sinan stared at her coldly through the rearview mirror, "Private settlement or legal procedure?"
"..."
Tang Yige was stunned, her pretty, clear eyes showing heavy confusion.
Rong Sinan’s handsome face was slightly serious, and seeing Tang Yige’s dumbfounded expression, he squinted, "As per my agent’s request, if you are willing to settle privately, return the diamonds you secretly swapped out and issue a public apology, this matter will be settled. If you are unwilling to settle privately, we’ll go through legal proceedings. Choose, private settlement or legal remedies."
Pausing, Rong Sinan sneered, "If I were you, I would choose the former without a second thought. Otherwise, the latter will cost you an unimaginable price."
At this point, Yige finally understood why he had come to see her!
She just didn’t expect that given his current standing and expertise in the legal field, he would take on such a minor civil case.
Indeed.
Rong Sinan’s primary profession was as a lawyer.
And his skills within the legal field had reached an unparalleled level among his peers.
Every case his law firm took on ended in a victory.
However, very few people knew of Rong Sinan’s identity as a lawyer.
Since the age of eighteen, after an incident with Rong Mochen, he had abandoned his finance management major at university to delve into law and legal studies.
After graduating, he and some college friends founded a law firm named "Shengge," which he naturally owned as the investor.
The friends he founded Shengge with also held a significant amount of shares.
Shengge held a prestigious reputation in the legal industry and was even seen by peers as unattainable and admirable.
Law students and upcoming lawyers dreamed of working at Shengge.
Rong Sinan, while being the founder and owner of Shengge, remained anonymous except among the co-founders and early members.
And though he never personally appeared in court, behind the scenes, he strategized many difficult cases for Shengge lawyers with ingenious solutions.
Thus, top law firms suspected that Shengge had a hidden master guiding them from behind.
Whenever Shengge faced trouble, this master would step forward to solve it.
And every time, the resolutions were so brilliant that opposing lawyers were often left speechless.
So, within the legal industry, most lawyers would rarely dare to accept a case against Shengge, as it would surely end in defeat!
Moreover, clients able to hire Shengge’s lawyers appeared to be of high societal standing, either extremely wealthy or influential.
Ordinarily, Shengge wouldn’t even take cases like Yige’s!
Even more surprisingly, this time, it was the legendary "Great Demon King" himself as it was rumored in lawyer circles who was involved!
After the shock, Tang Yige felt anger and embarrassment!
Even though this matter was non-existent.
Yet, for him to find out, Yige felt extremely ashamed and especially furious!
"I didn’t swap her diamonds, she insisted on having me make her wedding dress, and I couldn’t refuse!
Moreover, she herself asked for diamonds to be set in the wedding dress; I didn’t make her do it.
Initially, when she requested diamonds, I refused, but she begged, so I agreed to embed four stones..."
"Four?"
Before Tang Yige could finish, Rong Sinan coldly snorted, "Market value in the billions, and you say four?"
Billions?
Tang Yige’s eyes widened, staring at Rong Sinan in shock.
