Tiny Genius Alert! Mom & Dad Better Make Peace-Chapter 356 - 343: They Even Targeted the Children
Yu Xiangju.
When Rong Mochen arrived at the private room, Rong Sinan was already there and had already ordered the meal.
The brothers’ tastes were similar—both preferred mild flavors and liked similar foods.
If there was any difference in their lifestyle habits, it was that Rong Mochen smoked, drank, and played cards, while Rong Sinan neither smoked nor drank much, and rarely played cards.
At least, that was what Rong Mochen had always thought.
Only now, sitting in the private room, Rong Sinan not only had a drink beside him but also held a lit cigarette between his long fingers.
As he entered, Rong Sinan was just bringing the cigarette to his lips.
His slightly narrowed eyes, coupled with the smoke swirling around his refined and handsome face, made him look completely different from his usual gentle and refined self.
Rong Mochen’s dark eyes slightly lowered, hiding the slight startle in them, as he walked over to sit next to him.
Rong Sinan took a few drags before extinguishing the cigarette in the ashtray, curling his lips into a warm smile at Rong Mochen, "Let’s eat first."
Rong Mochen glanced at the red wine beside him, finally fixing his gaze on Rong Sinan’s gentle face, "Brother, interested in having a drink today?"
"Not quite interest, just suddenly thinking this wine is truly a good thing." Rong Sinan raised his glass, looked at Rong Mochen, "Let’s have a drink."
Rong Mochen raised an eyebrow, lifted his glass to clink with his, and placed it to his lips for a light sip.
However, Rong Sinan tilted his head back and downed the glass of red wine in one go.
Rong Mochen paused, lowered his dark lashes, and said nothing.
The meal passed amidst the brothers’ laughter and conversation.
Rong Sinan picked up a napkin to wipe his mouth before beginning to explain the purpose of inviting him for dinner today, "What happened while I was away from Z City?"
Rong Sinan’s black, gentle eyes stared straight at Rong Mochen, "And why did you take action against the Gu Family?"
"Gu Yaoqin and Gu Lingyi kidnapped Little Mo and Xixi Hanhan, intending to burn them to death." Rong Mochen said calmly, then lifted his gaze toward Rong Sinan.
Rong Sinan was shocked, staring at the swift flare of malevolence and anger in Rong Mochen’s deep eyes, his breathing became rough.
"I bankrupted the Gu Family and sent Gu Lingyi to a mental hospital. I believe I can no longer be lenient!" Rong Mochen’s voice was deep and cold as if it came from the chilly depths of the earth.
"Damn it!" Rong Sinan slammed a fist onto the table, his voice harsh and fierce.
Rong Mochen withdrew his gaze from Rong Sinan’s sinister taut face, his thin lips curving coldly, "Liang Yi did not participate in the previous kidnapping of Little Mo. I only had people watching her to prevent her from approaching Little Mo.
Hmph, initially, I had no plans to do anything to her. She is indeed capable, not only avoiding my surveillance but successfully contacting Ms. Fang, using Ms. Fang’s prejudice against Little Mo to increase her resentment and misunderstanding towards Little Mo, all while achieving her goal of rescuing Gu Lingyi from the mental hospital.
She indeed knows that the only one who can help her now, the only likely one, is Ms. Fang alone!"
"This morning, mom went to the old house to see grandpa, telling grandpa about what Liang Yi fabricated, making grandpa furious, even resorting to violence," Rong Sinan said solemnly.
These things were told to him by Li Li over the phone at noon, so Rong Mochen’s face now showed no extra expression.
Rong Sinan knitted his brows tightly, looking at Rong Mochen, "No wonder the old man was so furious. Such a big matter happens, and you don’t tell us. What should I say to you?"
Rong Mochen sipped a bit of red wine, his voice carrying a hint of its rich taste, "You were in Mexico at the time; how could I tell you? By the time you returned, the matter was resolved, and there was no need to speak of it."
Rong Sinan’s brows remained tightly furrowed, gritting his teeth, "Those few people from the Gu Family must not be let off easily. To even lay hands on two children, such beasts don’t deserve to live in this world!"
Rong Mochen swirled the crimson liquid in his glass, his dark eyes flashing with an icy light, his voice ghostly, "This matter will not be settled just like that."
Lanqi Mental Hospital.
In a room shrouded in darkness, every possible source of light was sealed shut, leaving only a single electric rod emitting a faint glow on the table.
A disheveled woman curled up on a wooden bed that lacked even the most basic of sheets, nothing but two pieces of newspaper, both already torn beyond use.
The woman lay so still as if she were dead, seemingly without even the sign of breathing.
The cautious sound of knocking suddenly came from the sealed door.
She was terrified of this sound!
A twitching pain shot through her legs, like spasms, causing the woman on the bed to clutch her head and cry out in agony.
"Yiyi, Yiyi..." a hushed female voice ghostly came through the door panel.
Gu Lingyi held her head and sobbed softly, as if she hadn’t heard anything.
"Yiyi, it’s Mommy. Yiyi, come over quickly, Mommy doesn’t have much time, come to the door quickly," Liang Yi’s deep voice was tinged with anxious panting.
Perhaps it was the word "Mommy" that made Gu Lingyi pause her head-hugging action.
In the next second, she rolled and crawled off the wooden bed, ignoring the slippery liquid trickling down her leg, stumbling to the door, where she knelt down on the inside, desperately hammering on the door with her hand.
"Yiyi, don’t bang, don’t bang!" Liang Yi’s voice suddenly tensed.
"Help, help me, Mommy, save me... I hurt so much, save me..." Gu Lingyi indeed stopped banging, pressing her face against the door panel, sobbing desperately.
Liang Yi squatted on the outside of the door, her tears also falling continuously, her voice trembling and hoarse, "Yiyi, just endure one more day, the day after tomorrow, Mommy will come to rescue you. Just one more day, just one more day."
"Mommy, I don’t want to be here, Mommy, please rescue me, please, wuhuhuh..."
Liang Yi pressed her forehead against the door, her heart aching unbearably for a moment, crying uncontrollably.
When she finally calmed her emotions and opened her mouth to say something, suddenly a strong force struck the back of her neck. Liang Yi’s body suddenly went soft, her vision went black, and she lost consciousness.
Liang Yi was awakened by a burst of cold wind.
The moment she suddenly opened her eyes, she was hit by the glaring white light and had to close them again, instinctively turning her head elsewhere.
"I remember telling you not to appear in front of Little Mo again, not to plot behind her back and harm her. Why won’t you listen?"
The man’s ghostly cold voice was as frigid as Arctic wind cutting into her ears.
Liang Yi’s scalp tingled instantly, chilling her from head to toe.
Slowly turning her head to the direction of the voice, her gaze fell on the man’s Asura-like face under the dim light. Liang Yi’s eyes widened in horror, her face turning as pale as paper.
"The last time, I let you go for Little Mo’s sake. Your husband and daughter almost killed Little Mo and Xixi Hanhan. Out of consideration for your ignorance, I did nothing to you. You, however, have not changed nor restrained yourself but continued causing trouble... Do you think I’m dead?!"
The last sentence struck Liang Yi’s heart like an icy iron hammer.
Liang Yi’s lips trembled violently, her body tensing, "What do you want?"
"Guess!" Mu Qinnian sneered sinisterly.
Liang Yi’s hands trembled constantly, "I don’t want this, but I’m out of options. I have to save my husband and daughter. I went to find Momo, hoping she’d release my husband and daughter, but Momo completely ignored me. I couldn’t think of anything else, so I went to find Fang Jingyi. I know she’s the only one who can save my husband and daughter now."
Cold, tears slipped from Liang Yi’s wide, hollow eyes as she looked at Mu Qinnian, resolve mixed with desperate bravery in her expression. "Young Master Mu, my husband and daughter did wrong to Momo, but they are still my husband and daughter. As a wife and mother, I cannot abandon them."
"Gu Yaoqin and Gu Lingyi are your husband and daughter. Is Little Mo and Xixi Hanhan not your daughter and grandkids? Has your heart been eaten by wild dogs, Liang Yi?" Mu Qinnian’s deep pupil was dyed red, glaring sinisterly at Liang Yi.
"Momo is my daughter, but what use is it if she won’t acknowledge me?" Liang Yi suddenly shouted.
Mu Qinnian’s temples throbbed, his thin lips gradually pressing into a harsh, cold line, "She doesn’t acknowledge you because why should she? A woman like you, greedy for vanity, capable of anything for wealth and status, doesn’t deserve her recognition! And now, don’t even think of using Little Mo’s compassion for you to save yourself! Weren’t you about to save your husband? Your husband is right here. I’ll give you time to reunite, but..."
But what, Mu Qinnian didn’t say.
A sudden fear arose in Liang Yi’s heart as she stared at Mu Qinnian.
Mu Qinnian coldly smirked, got up, and left the room.
Liang Yi’s nerves tightened, and she jumped up from the chair.
But the next second, she heard a coarse panting sound drifting in from somewhere in the room.
Suddenly, a prickling sensation surged up Liang Yi’s spine. Slowly, she shifted her gaze toward it.
"Ah..." 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
No one knows what Liang Yi saw, but she suddenly covered her face in horror, retreating several steps, her whole body trembling.
Behind the chair where Mu Qinnian had sat was a mass of bloody flesh leaning against the wall.
Though it was a bloody mess, it wasn’t quite safe to describe it that way.
It was so thin, like a paper stuck there, the skin on the face sunken into the contours, making the eyes staring at her appear extremely large.
