Timeless Hunter: Blood Of Old-Chapter 36: Boss Fight Final
Oriana growled like a beast but unlike the bear he could still see a glimmer of intelligence in her eyes.
The ogre pounced first not waiting for her to attack. Akaris drew his arrow and shot it to the ogre’s back.
With all of it attention focused on Oriana it didn’t block the arrow and it pierced through it back.
It back muscles contrasted, the arrow barely managed to pierce a few centimetres in but he was already drawing his bow to shoot another.
Oriana pounced turning into a red blur, her claws clashed with the ogre’s sword and she was pushed back dozens of metres.
She spun mid air and landed on her feet, her body went on all fours and she ran at the ogre like a beast.
Realising she was holding her own though barely he stopped firing mana arrows and instead drew his bow and remained still.
Oriana and the ogre clashed, each clash generating sparks and shockwaves. It sounded like grenades exploding everywhere.
Each stomp of the ogre’s massive foot left wide cracks on the ground and each swing of its sword created ravines.
It was like a battle of Gods, they clashed dozens of times each second and each time Oriana came out below.
Wounds started accumulating on her body but each wound increased her strength, unfortunately the ogre was too powerful.
Not only was it a skilled fighter it was definitely higher in levels and stats than them.
The only reason Oriana is still holding her own is simply because she was an anomaly, her beast soul made her incredibly powerful.
The fact that she can use skills of other beast souls while in another added to it, right now she was using berserk.
A skill of the bear beast soul while in the tiger beast soul, she can also use tiger claws while in the bear beast soul.
Of course the skill is slightly weakened but that didn’t matter right now. Even with berserk she can’t match the ogre in pure strength.
What mattered to her right now was her agility and her acrobatics skill which is more effective in her tiger beast form due to the tiger’s heightened reaction.
That reaction of a cat is the only reason she’s even able to dodge the ogre’s attacks even though it sword swings were so fast they could match Akaris’s arrows.
However unlike his arrows the sword couldn’t cleanly pierce through the air so each swing cause sonic booms.
Her sensitive ears were quite detrimental to her in that regard but she was able to fold them to reduce the noise.
Five seconds passed with her running around the ogre like a cat, she pounced on him with her claws and fangs brandished.
The ogre responded with a wide sword swing them she grinned and twisted her body.
Crack, the sound of her bones cracking echoed through the night sky, it was heard even through the sonic booms.
The sword passed below her leaving a wide purple arc through the air, before the ogre could pull back an arrow curved around Oriana’s body.
This caught the ogre by surprise, she had used her body to block his field of vision allowing Akaris to shoot a curving arrow.
All the ogre could do was raise his elbow to protect his face but the arrow was never aimed at his face.
Akaris had used future sight and knew he couldn’t hit the ogre’s face as it made extra effort to protect it.
So he aimed for the chest, unfortunately he wasn’t accurate enough with a curving arrow to aim for the heart.
The arrow landed and an explosion of blue energy spread out. The shockwave pushed Oriana back.
The ogre was sent flying dozens of metres away but when the dust cleared he appeared with a wound on his chest.
He raised his eyes and glared at Akaris with coldness then grinned. " Fuck." Akaris cursed and watched as as the wound healed.
Not just that one but every wound on its body healed at a visible speed. This made him curse none stop.
However he also noticed the red aura around it body decreased after it wounds healed.
Oriana growled, she sounded even closer to a wild beast than before. Akaris had noticed this but the longer she fought the stronger she got.
However the faster she was losing her intelligence as well. If this continued she will be nothing but a wolf beast by the end.
If that happened she was bound to die, without her intelligence she won’t be able to fight this creature as effectively.
She turned into a red blur and pounced on the ogre, she jumped up and aimed her claws at its neck.
The ogre raised its sword above it head and swung it down, before the sword could hit her an arrow pierced through the ogre’s arm.
This made it lose control of it swing allowing her to twist and and dodge it before scratching the ogre’s face.
The fight continued, Akaris landed more and more arrows. On top of occasionally using future, he was using her.
She provided a great cover for his curving arrows and the more he shot them the better he got.
His arrows got more and more accurate with each shot. The longer they fought the weaker the ogre got.
Its red battle aura grew lower and lower losing its brightness with each passing second.
The ogre got more desperate and started fighting more recklessly. This made it more dangerous but also more vulnerable.
Like Oriana it started leaving openings and with his improving archery and battle sense how can he miss such an opportunity.
Akaris had come to accept his role as a support fighter allowing Oriana to create opportunities for him.
In her current state she wasn’t doing it intentionally but it did not matter, she still provided him with opportunities.
In a second he shot two mana arrows each piercing each arm of the ogre, this made it harder for the ogre to swing its sword around but it still did.
Then he closed his eyes and drew his bow, he didn’t shoot another arrow and waited, Oriana started losing the moment he stopped providing support. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Wounds accumulated on her body rapidly, then he opened his eyes, an arrow with a larger head had formed on his bow.
He released, time seemed to slow down and the arrow curved around Oriana’s body which was mid air.
The ogre saw it but unable to block with its sword mid swing it tilted its head to dodge, Akaris willed the arrow to change trajectory with all of his might.
He felt a splitting headache but the arrow changed at the last second catching the ogre off guard.
BOOOOM.
