Hawk eyes and archery seemed to be stuck at level 9, he had a feeling he needed more for them to reach level 10, he also figured he should start using inspect any chance he got.
Looking at his status screen he realised how much more powerful he was compared to before.
However he knew this would not be enough to take down that scorpion, his attack potency was not enough to breach it defences.
He went to the kitchen then he stopped, with his heightened senses due to his high perception he could hear something below.
It sounded like rats, he relaxed, in a world like this, tiny things like rats were the least of his problems.
That was of course because he had not seen those rats. He opened the fridge and found food.
Fortunately the electricity still worked in this building even though it kept flickering on and off.
He made himself something to eat then sat down and ate. The world outside was in turmoil but right now that was not his problem.
Somewhere else in the city, green feline eyes shone through the darkness. They were staring at a group of humanoid hyenas.
These were gnolls, each one dressed in shabby armour and carrying a weapon. The largest of them had an axe and shield.
It stopped and sniffed the air then turned towards those eyes and roared alerting it pack members.
They all reacted and brandished their weapons but it did not matter. A roar like that of a tiger cub came from the shadows.
A shadow lunged at the pack moving so fast it turned into a blur, the only thing seen were two green eyes moving like streaks of lights. The gnolls screamed and roared.
In less than two minutes all that was left of the pack were mutilated corpses. A few minutes later a large creature appeared there.
Standing at 2.8 metres tall, the humanoid creature looked at the corpses then turned around and walked away.
Akaris finished his meal and went to rest, while he was no longer in danger of bleeding to death, his body still hurt like hell.
When he woke up the sun was yet to rise and the world was shrouded in the darkness of night and the heavy clouds above. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
The rain instead of letting up grew stronger instead. It was so heavy even his eyes were a bit impended.
It was like trying to look through a curtain, he looked out the window with his bow in hand and arrows on his back.
Even through it though, he could still see monsters running on top of buildings yet they seemed to avoid the one he was on for some reason.
On one of the buildings across the street he saw two monsters fighting. A tiger was fighting a grey skinned humanoid monster.
It looked like a hobgoblin but it was different, it was stronger too. He used inspection on it and it was a hobgoblin.
Goblin Outcast ( unique)
Level 9
Strength: 27
Agility:3?
Perception:24
Endurance:4?
Vitality:3?
Will:16
Spirit:20
Skills:
Iron skin ( uncommon.)
( A unique monster that cannot be defined by ordinary means and can grow endlessly under the right conditions.)
Akaris almost whistled, this thing was strong, however he was surprised he was able to see it skill.
Perhaps it’s because it’s a uncommon skill, if it was something higher perhaps he might not have been able to see it.
He still couldn’t see the description of the skill but he did not need to, it name told him all he needed.
He watched the fight, the tiger was strong and fast. It was even larger than a bull, it claws were as sharp as daggers.
However everytime it hit the hobgoblin sparks would fly, it claws failed to penetrate it skin but it strength still sent the hobgoblin reeling back everytime.
The hobgoblin on the other hand was too impressive, it was wielding a rusty sword with more skill than any monster he had ever seen.
Even with the tigers reflexes and strength, the hobgoblin still managed to draw gashes on it skin painting it beautiful fur with blood.
It sword drew arcs through the rain as it danced around the tiger, the two of them were moving so fast they turned into blurs.
It was like watching a movie of superheroes, the tiger was so strong it paws cracked the cement floor beneath them sending stone flying everywhere.
However even with it impressive strength it was still losing. He watched it swing it claws trying to decapitate the hobgoblin.
The grey skinned hobgoblin ducked dodging it claws but that was a trap, the tiger bit it on the neck.
The hobgoblin’s skin gleamed like polished metal. The teeth failed to penetrate it skin, the tiger ran and dragged the hobgoblin to the edge of the building.
Akaris realised what it was trying to do and admired it intelligence but he couldn’t let it do it successfully.
The two of them were his prey, he couldn’t let either one die by the hands of the other so he drew his bow.
He infused mana into his arrow, when he did he realised his control over his mana had grown to be much better and faster.
He was about to shoot the hobgoblin when it stabbed it sword through the tigers neck, it happened so fast it caught him off guard.
The tiger started losing it strength, he knew it was going to die in a few seconds and he would lose a lot of experience.
So he changed his target and shot the tiger instead. The hobgoblin stood over the dying body of the tiger.
Hidden by the rain the arrow went unnoticed by it until it was too late. It pierced through the tigers head hitting it brain.
The tiger died immediately, the hobgoblin was startled and looked towards his window but he had already knocked another arrow.
It pierced through the curtain of rain like a blue streak. Clang, sparks flew.
