Time Travel: The Heroine Has Arrived!-Chapter 1530: Other People’s "Mermaids" vs. the Competitive Villain (Part 19)
Jason returned to Gu Shengyin’s side, practically so happy he was about to take flight.
Fortunately, the entire Leonard family was aware of his fervent admiration for Marshal Raymond, so seeing him this excited, so different from his usual calm demeanor, wasn’t very surprising.
Gu Shengyin glanced at him and said with a smile, "Second brother, are you that happy?"
Jason tried hard to maintain a composed expression and nodded earnestly, "You can’t understand my feelings, Tiana."
Gu Shengyin shook her head, chuckling.
When they arrived at the Gene Matching Center, they were expected due to prior arrangements, and staff were already waiting there.
During the genetic matching process, others couldn’t accompany them inside, so Cassie nervously hugged her daughter.
"Dear Tiana, don’t be afraid, we’re all here waiting for your good news."
Gu Shengyin, hearing Cassie’s slightly fast heartbeat, inwardly laughed at who was truly nervous.
She followed the staff into a pristine white room filled with many instruments.
"Respected Miss Leonard, we first need to conduct a full body examination for you..."
Raymond sat at the head, somewhat absent-mindedly listening to the Gene Matching Center official reporting to him.
Damn! He had absolutely no interest in this so-called bio-science!
The official spoke until his mouth was dry, then slightly lowered his head, waiting for His Excellency the Marshal’s directives. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
However, for a long time, he didn’t hear any response from the head.
The official couldn’t help but glance up at His Excellency the Marshal—Raymond was frowning, as if deep in thought.
Could it be that His Excellency is dissatisfied with my performance just now?
The official was so startled by his own speculation that he broke into a cold sweat.
After some consideration, he cautiously said, "Your Excellency, do you think our work needs any improvements?"
The least you can do is give a definitive answer!
Raymond snapped back to his senses.
In truth, he was completely distracted just now and hadn’t listened to a word the official had said.
Even if he had, with all those terms like amino acid and chromosomes, as a graduate of the Empire’s Military Academy, he really wasn’t adept in that area.
So, under the hopeful gaze of the official, Raymond finally spoke up.
What he said, however, had nothing to do with the report: "I see today, there are quite a few mermaids here for gene matching?"
The Gene Matching Center official was taken aback by the words, thinking perhaps His Excellency was implying a desire to see a practical demonstration?
Luckily, he had done his homework, and quickly responded, "Yes, Your Excellency. Today, there are two newly adult mermaids who have come here for gene matching."
Raymond said lightly, "Oh? Have the results come out?"
The official’s heart skipped a beat, and he said, "Testing is in progress, but at this time, it should be just about done."
Raymond rested one hand on the table, lightly tapping his forefinger, without speaking.
The official suddenly had a stroke of inspiration.
He asked, "Would you like to see our matching results?"
He had merely made a gamble, but upon saying this, he saw a look of approval in His Excellency’s eyes.
The official let out a breath of relief. Though unsure of the Marshal’s intentions, he quickly arranged for the latest two results to be brought over.
