Chapter 231: The Laws of the Universe

Jin was meditating to understand the Laws of the universe, a necessary step into stepping into goodhood. He had understood them lifetimes ago, but understanding and application were two different things.

His current body reached the peak of power, combined with modern technology and his natural powers. He was as strong as he could possibly be without learning a higher power.

The forces of the universe were powerful, extremely powerful. No mere mortal could simply comprehend them with ease. It would take years of understanding, practice, and sometimes, it could lead to death.

Luckily, Jin had every step completed, so it wasn’t surprising when he started using every law with ease. While it wasn’t to the point of mastery, he could use them so proficiently that it looked as if he had been practicing them for years.

"Well, no i’ll be living even longer now."

When one can use a Law of the universe, their lifespan increases significantly. This is because the power wants the user to master it, so the lifespan increases to compensate for it.

There are seven laws of the universe: Space, Time, Energy, Creation, Destruction, Fate, and Souls. Comprehending one will lead a person down the path of divinity, but comprehending all seven leads a person...down the same path of divinity. It will simply be easier for them to become a higher level diety, like a Titan or Primordial.

"The law of souls will be extremely helpful. Though once again, my former body is the problem. I was built to kill gods, which means my former body has resistance against Laws. However, if I combine the law of souls with the soul weapon Jess is working on, then I should be able to destroy the new soul in my old body quicker."

Jin continued to meditate, absorbing the energies of the universe and comprehending every law. He knew that he had to be as powerful as he could because if he wasn’t, then it was game over.

The others were also comprehending laws; however, not everyone could do so with ease. Lacena and Addison were comprehending the creation and energy laws since they went hand in hand with their own personal abilities.

They felt a natural tug from those laws, and while they couldn’t comprehend it at first, after some guidance from Jin, they were absorbing that universal knowledge like a sponge.

Brittany decided to comprehend the Law of Space. Although she could read minds AND use telekinesis, she mainly used teleportation, and even evolved her power to teleport objects without touching them, so the law of space was perfect for her.

Angela went for the law of destruction. That was expected by everyone, and Jin tries to put her down the path of energy, but she argued that since her power is the hault molecules, she’s practically destroying them, since once something reaches absolute zero, there is no coming back.

Jin couldn’t argue with that logic, so he guided her down that path.

Jerrica went down the path of energy, like Addison. He abilties were absolute kinetic energy, so it only made sense.

Jessa went for the law time. As a speedster, she saw everything move extremely slowly. She had TONS of time on her hands, even if that time for the outside world was milliseconds or even less.

She was technically moving extremely fast, so the law of energy would have been better, even space would have, but she still wanted to go for time. Another reason for that was that after achieving the tenth circle, she could move as fast as light if she went all out. Time slows down the faster an object moves toward lightspeed, and that was her reasoning.

Jin accepted and put her down that path.

This left Anyssa, Oculia, and Yuria.

Anyssa was easy. She went down the path of energy. All of her powers were elements, so they were energy-based to some degree. She also used her powers that way. Creation would have been a better option, but Laws don’t choose the person, so Anyssa was free to choose what she wanted to pursue.

Oculia and Yuria shocked Jin with their choice. Oculia chose fate while Yuria chose souls.

Oculia’s reasoning was simple: she could see everything, so she wanted to see fate as well.

Jin heavily respected that since that was something he would do as well.

Yuria, on the other hand, was a different case. At least one person here was comprehending one of the seven laws, so she wanted to comprehend the one no one chose, that being souls.

Jin asked if she was positive, and she stuck to her decision. She also said that since everyone chose a different law, she would take one for the team and choose souls because it was the only power their little family didn’t have.

Jin also respected that decision and led her down that path. Besides, she could learn another law later if she wanted.

And with that, every single person in this little family was currently comprehending a law. Jin was extremely proud of their progress. Normally, people wouldn’t be able to comprehend laws so easily, even in a pocket dimension where time passes by faster.

But Jin cheated. He literally gave him all of the knowledge over the course of his many lives about each law they wanted to practice. So not only were they given a lesson, they had notes, and were cheating. That was an easy A+ on a test.

The women were actually progressing faster than Jin, but that wasn’t a fair comparison since he was comprehending all seven while they were only comprehending one.

Soon, they would be extremely proficient with the law that they wouldn’t even be able to understand how powerful they’ve become.

Jin found it very funny how people in this world assumed the transcendent espers were the strongest of all, yet a person with mana could easily take them, depending on their power, of course.

Over the course of years in the time dimension, everyone continued to comprehend their law and break through their mortal limits. While none of them became gods, their third eye was now open, and they could see how vast the universe was. This also showed them how powerful Jin’s original body was, because Jin informed them that what they are learning is only a fraction of what he used to be able to do.

And so, they worked even harder.
