Three Treasures: Spoiled Wife Goes Wild-Chapter 1742: Awakening
"Mommy, don’t cry, don’t cry."
Olivia, who is usually the most fragile, feels sad even when she sees an ant fall into the water.
But now, she wrapped her arms around Annie’s shoulders, constantly comforting her.
The news about Oliver Hudson’s hospitalization had been discovered by the children, so naturally, as their child, Olivia insisted on staying in the hospital.
Initially, Annie was reluctant, but with Olivia’s persistence, Annie had no choice but to allow her to stay.
However, with Olivia by her side, Annie’s condition improved significantly.
At that moment, Oliver, lying on the hospital bed, let out a faint sound.
Noticing this, Annie immediately called the doctor to examine Oliver.
The doctor originally thought Oliver’s condition was deteriorating, but to their surprise, Oliver awakened at this moment.
The initial prognosis by the doctors was that Oliver might remain in a coma indefinitely.
But it had only been two days since his surgery until his awakening, a situation even the most experienced doctors hadn’t encountered before.
"The patient’s body functions have basically recovered; there’s nothing of major concern, although his wounds will take a long time to heal."
After completing the examination, the doctor stated.
Annie nodded, her gaze falling on Oliver’s face.
Although Oliver had awakened, his consciousness wasn’t fully clear; he frowned, enduring the intense pain from his wounds.
Olivia stood in front of Oliver’s bed, watching his every move with worry.
Seeing the pained expression on Oliver’s face, she wanted to hold his hand but ultimately didn’t.
Then, feeling lost, Olivia turned to look at Annie, who skillfully used a damp cotton swab to moisten Oliver’s dry lips.
And as she leaned closer to Oliver, she seemed to hear him murmuring. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"Annie... run..."
The hand holding the swab trembled violently; Annie lowered her eyes to look at Oliver before gently placing her hand on his cheek.
"It’s okay, it’s okay now..."
Annie murmured, not sure if she was speaking to Oliver or reassuring herself.
Just then, Oliver suddenly raised his hand to grasp Annie’s palm tightly, blinking his long lashes as he opened his eyes to meet Annie’s gaze.
"Annie?"
As his muddled consciousness gradually returned, Oliver’s eyes began to clear.
He seemed hesitant to believe he would see Annie the moment he opened his eyes, hence his tentative tone.
Even with his throat sore and parched, Oliver uttered Annie’s name with all his strength.
However, Annie chose silence; she wanted to get up and pour a glass of water for Oliver, but he held her hand firmly, with no intent to let go.
He didn’t even dare to blink.
As if afraid that in the next second, Annie would disappear before his eyes.
For the first time, seeing such vulnerability in Oliver’s eyes, Annie’s gaze flickered as she placed his hand against her cheek.
"Oliver, I’m here; I’ve always been here."
