Three Towers Game-Chapter 924 - 279: Aries and Cain (Part 2)
Cannon couldn't believe it; the vampire king, Cain, who had recently made a spectacular appearance like a god, was actually killed by them?
Is this an illusion?
The pain from the rib fracturing assured Cannon that it wasn't an illusion.
They had just executed a perfect teamwork: Cannon attracted the firepower, Night Demon held Cain up, and finally, Shadow completed the assassination.
Of course, without Canon's formation and the disappearance field of Persian Daisy's crisis, perhaps Cain would never have appeared.
In any case, the five assassins worked together to achieve an impossible assassination.
Cain clutched his heart, clearly the stab was a deadly blow to him.
His life had reached its final stage.
The injuries he sustained were much more severe than those of his foes!
Night Demon found it hard to believe; the mere appearance of Cain required him to muster twelve thousand parts bravery to convince himself not to flee. Yet, this formidable enemy... he risked life and limb to charge forward, and incredibly did create an opportunity for his teammates.
It's truly a miracle! To defeat someone like him is simply miraculous.
They were exceedingly excited internally because they had really killed Cain.
Wen Xishu was also thrilled:
"You really did it..."
He could see the bullet screen floating out from Cannon and the others, but deep inside himself, he was quite calm. From the moment Cain's name was revealed, he knew Cain had lost.
The instant Cain showed interest in Night Demon, Wen Xishu swiftly wrote down Cain's first lines: 'A power close to the night is a pity to kill.'
Because his hand was shaking then, he paused, so Cain's speech also paused after saying the first half.
From that moment, Cain's lines, actions, and developments were all according to Wen Xishu's plans. To facilitate the subsequent plot, Cain's speech was deliberately set by Wen Xishu to be particularly slow.
In fact, what sniper rifles repelling Cain, or Night Demon being able to hold Cain... are all science fiction.
Cain's strength was such that standing still and glancing at them could kill them. Cannon's weapons causing Cain to feel even a tingle counted as an advancement in technology.
The reason for all the preceding attacks, and the reason for achieving results—all were because Wen Xishu had arranged Cain to act as though he was performing.
Gotta give these assassins a thrill, right?
Since this journey stemmed from their obsession, they were under-skilled but overzealous, and he had the power to rewrite the script; hence let them have a good time.
The knife that could break Cain's defense was the Scorpion Knife.
The Scorpion Knife was strong, but it really couldn't break Cain's defense—it was not a combat-focused tool. It killing Cain would make Scorpio happy.
Wen Xishu wrote down the command that actually made Cain's body begin to crack, physical functions rapidly decline, and after encountering the knife wound, the body would lose its defensive abilities.
Next, the assassins saw the weakened Cain, although Cain was strong... they didn't notice Cain had been weakened to the extreme.
This fight, under Wen Xishu's control, Cain let up massively, akin to the Pacific Ocean.
But in the assassins' perspective, the knife had gained a special effect against Cain, so everything appeared reasonable.
"We did it!"
This bullet screen appeared above each assassin's head, except for the unconscious assassin Persian Daisy Igor.
Of course, Wen Xishu had to admit, tonight Persian Daisy, Canon, and Cannon indeed could be considered MVPs. Shadow and Night Demon had won somewhat effortlessly.
Yet under his arrangement, Shadow also had his moment in the spotlight at the end.
All assassins are in place, providing each of the obsession-generating bosses a chance to perfectly dismantle their obsessions; this is the proper proficiency a Deceit Tower person should have.
The assassins were indeed filled with a sense of fulfillment.
Though previously they survived repeatedly, it was all under Wen Xishu's hypnosis—for the ultimate killing king!
Now, they still won via Wen Xishu's knife, but ultimately, they had a sense of existence, they paid a price, fought for it, gained it, and won it.
Wen Xishu's hypnosis was also at its limit; in the end, it was by their effort, jointly defeating the unbeatable Cain!
Without us, Wen Xishu would find it difficult to achieve final victory either.
If Persian Daisy were awake, probably all five assassins would think: We six are truly incredible.
That said, the assassins were quite aware that Wen Xishu's strength deserved the title of ultimate killing king.
This was an exhilarating and intense battle; they already felt their lives were complete, capable of assassinating such an entity in Crystal City, and life had no regrets!
Wen Xishu's final command:
"Next, Cain will answer all questions posed to him truthfully; whatever he knows about the plans of saviors across nations, the secrets of the Three Towers War, he cannot retain anything. After all questions are asked, Cain dies from severe injuries."
Wen Xishu slowly stood up, pretending to also be seriously injured:
"Vampire King, truly a respectable opponent. Apart from this knife, what else in this world can hurt you?"
Cain's true inner feelings at this moment were very aggrieved.
First seriously injuring himself, then being arranged to cooperate in speaking lines that seemed disgraceful. But he really had no choice.
What appeared to the assassins was a Cain who was about to die, thus released from everything:
"As a reward for defeating me... Well, then I will tell you, I fear silver, silver bullets can penetrate my defenses."
