Thousands of Brilliant Stars: You Deserve the Best!-Chapter 232: Casting a Long Line to Catch a Big Fish
Hearing Lachlan Wyatt’s teasing words, Iris Crawford instinctively gave him a flick on the forehead. After getting flicked, Lachlan immediately jumped up, holding his head and said to Iris, "Why won’t you ever show me a little kindness?"
"I used to give it to you," Iris said coolly, "You didn’t appreciate it, so now it’s gone."
She holds grudges, oh she definitely holds grudges, never cross Iris Crawford, her grudges last for years!
But that night, Iris surprisingly didn’t kick Lachlan out. It was as if she accepted that after Lachlan gave the bedroom to Hannah Lennox, he moved to sleep with her. Watching Lachlan make the bed, she said nothing more.
After brushing her teeth, Iris lifted the blanket and lay down inside.
Lachlan was stunned.
After a moment, he said softly, "You... you’re not kicking me out?"
Iris didn’t show any resistance; instead, she glanced at him coolly, then nestled into Lachlan’s arm, saying, "I don’t mind someone warming my bed."
Lachlan felt like he was struck by lightning.
Does this... does this mean... Iris is willing to take the first step in accepting me?!
Ah!
That usually arrogant man, in his mind now hosting a party, was enveloped by the joy of being accepted by Iris. He wrapped his arms tightly around Iris, locking her in his embrace, snuggling and saying, "I knew you were beautiful and kind-hearted, Iris, you’re truly wonderful~"
Hearing such cheesy words delivered in a deep, magnetic voice, was a first for Iris, eliciting goosebumps on her back, "If you keep this up, I’ll really kick you out!"
"You wouldn’t dare."
Lachlan rolled over on the bed with Iris in his arms. When their eyes met, Iris noticed that Lachlan’s eyes were shining, as if his pupils, usually so dark and unreadable, could only see her now.
With a sigh in her heart, Iris placed her head on Lachlan’s chest.
Lachlan, maybe since the moment I knew you were kidnapped, I’ve come to terms with the pain between us in the past.
Turns out we were both, at one time, hostages of fate.

The next day, Iris got up early, only to find her bedmate was up even earlier. By the time she opened her eyes, Lachlan had already made breakfast in the kitchen; he brewed a pot of coffee and prepared everything for her as she came downstairs, even pulling out her chair.
Hannah was the last to wake up, rubbing her eyes as she walked out of Lachlan’s bedroom, discovering her brother and sister-in-law having breakfast together in the first-floor living room, and even a spot prepared for her.
Recalling yesterday’s events, Hannah’s cheeks turned red. She lowered her head, a little hesitant to approach Iris.
After all, Iris had slapped her before.
Unexpectedly, Iris said proactively, "Sit down and eat."
Hannah stiffened for a moment, "Sister-in-law, can I eat with you?"
...Again?
"If you don’t want to eat, stay on the side."
Iris didn’t spare Hannah a glance, "I’m only asking you once, sit down and eat."
Frightened, Hannah quickly sat obediently in the chair. The sense of intimidation from Iris was so strong, it almost took her breath away. Once seated, she said to Iris, "Thank you, sister-in-law. I’ll eat now."
Iris didn’t respond, just placed a glass of milk in front of Hannah, "Your brother and I are going out later; we all have our own tasks to do. Stay home today, and call us if anything happens."
Handing Hannah a note, "This is my phone number."
Looks like Iris intends to bait Hannah with a long-term plan, exposing the whole house to her, giving her ample time alone to see what she might do.
Hannah was instantly delighted upon hearing this, but still wore an expression of worry, "If Jonas Kingsley comes to find me when you’re all gone..."
"Don’t worry, I’ll arrange for bodyguards to protect you at the door."
Iris patted Hannah on the shoulder, then stood up, "I’ve eaten my fill. Lachlan, take Number Nine and me to work."
"Got it." Lachlan mused in front of a pile of supercar keys at the entryway, "Which one should we drive today?"
"The cheap one."
"Oh." Lachlan casually picked up a Porsche key.
