Thousands of Brilliant Stars: You Deserve the Best!-Chapter 191: Which Photo Matters More?
Hearing Iris Crawford mimicking Evelyn Rowan’s tone to call Lachlan Wyatt, Lachlan immediately thought of how he used to mimic Jordan Jacobs’ tone to call Iris back then.
This woman still holds a grudge, and now the tables have turned as she calls him like this.
Lachlan said, both amused and annoyed, "Why are you mimicking that woman’s way of calling?"
"That woman calls you so affectionately."
Lachlan clicked his tongue, "Don’t mimic her, or you’ll end up as stupid as she is."
Iris quickly closed her mouth upon hearing this, as she definitely didn’t want to become a foolish woman again. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Perhaps every woman needs to fall hard in some matter before they can shake off the so-called "foolishness."
So, when it came to Evelyn Rowan, Iris didn’t really hate her, only found her ignorant and pitiable, fighting for a man and ending up being resented.
Lightly patting away Lachlan’s hand that hugged her from behind, Iris glanced at him, "You don’t think I’ll be nice just because you saved the day, do you?"
Lachlan stood there motionless for a moment before slowly withdrawing his hand, "Won’t even let me hug you for a bit?"
Iris touched her face, took a delicate mirror from the drawer, and said, "Evelyn hit me without holding back at all."
Lachlan, standing by, asked, "Did you go easy on her when you struck back?"
Iris smiled, "I did ease up a bit, otherwise I’d have broken her lips."
"..." A crazy beautiful woman is truly terrifying.
Iris stood upstairs, observing the floor below for a while, and twenty minutes later, she saw a Rolls Royce come to pick up Evelyn. It seemed like Evelyn’s caretaker had come for now.
As for the brother Evelyn mentioned, Iris hadn’t looked into him yet, but it’s highly likely that he’s also overprotective, making the situation uncontrollable.
Interlocking her fingers and pressing down, her knuckles made a cracking sound as she stretched her body, then looked at Lachlan, "Do you still have the bed photos from back then?"
Lachlan responded without thinking, "I’ve switched phones, how could I have them?"
"What about the old phone?"
"It’s at home."
"Bring it to me."
"Why?"
Lachlan’s eyelids twitched, "Why do you want my old phone?"
"Evelyn photoshopped a bed photo to smear me, can’t I find some evidence to fight back?"
Iris let out a cold laugh, saying, "It’s at home, right? Is it at the villa we used to live in?"
As soon as Lachlan nodded, he saw Iris heading out. He hadn’t saved that photo back then, so there was no way the old bed photo would be in the new phone’s gallery, except to go back and get the old phone.
Iris walked especially fast, and Lachlan followed her out, "Where are you going?"
"To the villa."
After so many years, this was the first time she returned to the place where they lived.
Lachlan felt his blood flowing backward, surprisingly not stopping Iris’s decision. After she got in the car, Lachlan slipped into the back seat.
Being busy, Iris didn’t chase him out; she stepped on the gas, and the sports car sped down the road like an unrestrained beast.
How long had it been since Lachlan saw Iris driving?
Her slender fingers rested on the steering wheel, the bright red Ferrari paled in comparison to her crimson nails.
All the way home, Iris simply and straightforwardly asked, "Where’s the old phone?"
"In the bedroom drawer."
Iris strode forward, familiar with the place as if it were her own home, despite the long time away. She went straight to Lachlan’s bedroom, pushed the door open, and was momentarily stunned to see it filled with signs of life inside.
Had Lachlan been living here all these years... never leaving.
Iris found the old phone in the drawer, connected it to power, and discovered it still worked, so she habitually opened Lachlan’s gallery.
She didn’t know Lachlan hadn’t saved it, she had to look for it in the message records.
This action caused Lachlan’s eyelid to twitch immediately.
Oh no, what would happen if she discovered that photo...
"Wait a minute! What are you looking through!"
"The gallery."
"Look for it in the message records, why are you going through my gallery!" Lachlan was so anxious he almost jumped, but it was too late; Iris had already opened his gallery, her finger scrolling through, and then stopping.
Stopping on the photo Lachlan had wanted to delete but couldn’t bear to, the one he secretly took of her.
Iris’s breath caught.
