Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared-Chapter 560 - 556: Dragged into Trouble
Chapter 560: Chapter 556: Dragged into Trouble
Ouyang Jin once again expressed his gratitude for the support from the tour group, and as he watched the individuals board the bus, he chuckled to himself: "Huzzah, I bagged another deal. I’m brilliant, aren’t I? I truly have a knack for this, hahaha."
As Ouyang Jin was reveling in his success, he noticed three figures swimming against the current headed his way. The closer they got, the more familiar they looked, and his heart only sank deeper. Upon their approach, Ouyang Jin confirmed his worst fear and promptly turned to flee.
It was too late, Gu Fan, Lu Yi, and Jie pounced, toppling Ouyang Jin over in an instant. The trio started laughing uncontrollably, "Well hello there, Ouyang! What a coincidence seeing you here! We really should celebrate."
"Celebrate what? I don’t know you guys, you mistook me for someone else!" Ouyang Jin tried his hardest to wriggle free but to no avail. How could his strength match up against all of theirs combined?
Finally, Lu Yi and Jie grabbed Ouyang Jin by the arms, had him sandwiched between them and marched him away. Ouyang Jin was anything but resigned, dragging his legs on the ground in a last-ditch attempt at resistance. He was steadfast in not going with them.
With no other option, Gu Fan shouldered the extra burden and hoisted Ouyang Jin’s legs up, the trio then proceeded to carry him away.
Knowing he couldn’t get away, Ouyang Jin put on the act of a stranger: "Gentlemen, have you mistaken me for someone else? I truly do not know who you are."
Lu Yi dismised his pleas: "Stop pretending. That distinctive smell on you is the best proof."
"Do I really have a scent?" Ouyang Jin panicked momentarily and took a whiff only to find there was indeed a smell. All he could do was sigh to the heavens - he had hidden so well yet was brought down by his unique scent.
Gu Fan chuckled at this: "Don’t overthink it, buddy. Even without the scent, I’d still know it’s you."
Ouyang Jin felt things going south and started to struggle again: "Let me go! You guys just let me go! I don’t want to be involved with you. You wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for trouble. I won’t, I won’t!"
Watching Ouyang Jin’s indignant refusal, Gu Fan just smiled: "Alright, no need to be so dainty. Let’s go as per usual. We state our destination, you quote your price, we haggle and once we agree, we set off."
"I want ten million, or it’s a no go." Ouyang Jin aimed high in hopes of scaring Gu Fan off.
Gu Fan nodded: "Your price is a bit steep. I’m not much of a haggler, I’ll let Su Hui and Lin Xi handle it. Hopefully they won’t haggle you to death."
"What? Su Hui and Lin Xi are here too?" Shivers ran down Ouyang Jin’s spine, he made a pessimistic face: "Fine, you guys win, it’s my bad luck. Do whatever you want."
"What we want, where we want to go, we’ll discuss later... The most important thing now is we’ve been reunited against the odds, we should gather everyone and celebrate." Though Gu Fan was quite laid-back as he talked, Ouyang Jin’s heart sank, he grumbled, "Gu Fan, you’re too unkind, are you trying to use everyone’s influence to pressure me?"
Gu Fan vehemently denied: "Pressure? Nope, I just think it’s a good time for a reunion, everyone has a lot they want to share with you. Surely you miss catching up with all of us?"
"Truth be told, I don’t miss any of you at all. I don’t want to catch up, I want to say goodbye to you all for good." After he said that, Ouyang Jin shook his leg and added: "Okay, you can stop grabbging me now, I won’t run."
"Alright, we’ll trust you." Lu Yi, Jie, and Gu Fan let go of Ouyang Jin. However, they still formed a triangle around him, as if afraid he would bolt away when they least expected it.
Gu Fan then called Lin Xi, hearing that she and the others had made it back to the cargo ship, Gu Fan happily said: "Lin Xi, call everyone over. I found us a competent tour guide. I’ll introduce you guys later, a nice surprise guaranteed."
"Okay, I’ll gather everyone and look forward to your surprise." Lin Xi too, was looking forward to it. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
Ouyang Jin snorted when he saw Gu Fan hang up, "Gu Fan, it’s a little too early to be so sure, I might not be willing to help."
A frowny face took over Gu Fan’s expression, "It’s a rare reunion with an old friend, don’t be so heartless."
"It’s not that I’m heartless. Since meeting you, my luck has been nothing but rotten. My tourism project in the Outer Realm got shut down, I went to my relatives at Yuxueyun Mountain, and tried to pick up my guiding career again. Then you lot showed up at Yuxueyun Mountain, and everything got messed up, and that project was halted too. Now through a friend’s referral, I came to the Triangle Sea Area to do what I do best, and wouldn’t you know it, I run into you guys again."
"That’s what you call fate." Lu Yi patted Ouyang Jin’s shoulder, an expression of you-can’t-escape-fate on his face.
Ouyang Jin was bitter: "This is not fate, it’s bad karma. I must’ve done some serious wrong in my past life to have the misfortune of encountering you guys."
"Haha, maybe that’s true." Gu Fan said while nudging Ouyang Jin: "I should be thanking you. If it weren’t for you these past two times, we wouldn’t have made it to the Outer Realm and Yuxueyun Mountain so smoothly. Fate has decided that you’re our lucky charm."
"If I’m helping you, then who’s helping me? I just want to go about my work as a tour guide. I’ve done nothing wrong, why tie me with you guys?" Ouyang Jin sighed, looking at Gu Fan with pleading eyes, hoping he’d cut him some slack.
As if Gu Fan would just let Ouyang Jin off the hook. Such a good tour guide needed to be held onto, and to get Ouyang Jin to cooperate, Gu Fan decided to spill a promising secret.
Seeing this, Ouyang Jin quickly covered his ears: "I’m sorry, Gu Fan. I don’t want to hear it. I don’t want to participate or get involved, but looking at you, there’s no chance you’re letting me go, is there?"
"How could I? I wouldn’t dream of forcing you to guide us. I’m just thrilled to see you, my old friend, after such a long time. I believe everyone else feels the same, so you should catch up with everyone." Gu Fan’s words were impressive, but Ouyang Jin didn’t buy it: "But you just called Lin Xi and said you found a good tour guide. How do you explain that?"
"Oh yes, I did say I found a good guide. But did I say that was you?" Gu Fan tried to wriggle out of it, only to earn a scoff from Ouyang Jin.
