This Giant Dragon is So Powerful!-Chapter 56 - 55: Undermining the Foundation
Shiji dispatched over fifty of the most agile-minded Kobolds within the clan to covertly observe at various nodes where the Wild Dwarves appeared.
On the first day, the Wild Dwarves made no moves. ๐๐ป๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐๐๐๐ธ๐ซ๐๐ก.๐ฌ๐ธ๐
On the second day, there was no movement.
It wasnโt until the third day that two Kobolds lurking near the southwest detected traces of the Wild Dwarves.
"Black Bone, you must return quickly to report the news to the leader. I will continue to lurk here,"
A Kobold, whose body was covered in numerous green leaves and vines for camouflage, saw figures flitting through the distant forestโWild Dwarves clad in leather armor, wielding axes, swiftly shuttling through the treesโand said in a startled, low voice to its companion beside it.
Black Bone nodded gravely, stealthily retreating backward. Once he reached a position where the sound couldnโt be detected, he started running swiftly and soon disappeared.
Black Blood Valley.
Shiji received the news from the Kobold spies.
He quickly returned to his dwelling, approaching a flat, smooth stone surface.
The stone surface bore a not-so-pleasant-looking map. At the mapโs center was Black Blood Valley, with several marked points surrounding it: the Brown Forest Wild Dwarves Clan, the High-Level Demon โHorned Lionโ sightings, the Rotting Swamp โQueen of Darknessโ, the Ogre Tribe, the Giant Demon Tribe...
Kobolds, experts in mining, could navigate complex mine shafts without getting lostโalmost all of them were born pathfinding masters.
Thus, aside from the map being a bit unpleasant aesthetically, its precision was not much of an issue.
Arriving at the map stone, Shiji lightly tapped a spot in a forest located fifty to sixty kilometers outside the Rotting Swamp, creating a small marked hole.
This mark indicated the location where the Kobold spies discovered the Wild Dwarf army.
"From here, if the Wild Dwarves choose to attack Black Blood Valley, they still need to cross a river and bypass two mountains, which not only costs more time but also easily exposes themselves... Clearly, their target is not Black Blood Valley."
After analyzing, Shiji sighed with relief.
He feared that if the casters among the Wild Dwarves mastered soul memory magic, they might forcibly extract from the surrendered Goblin Warriors the information about his diversion plan.
Though the odds were slim, this involved the masterโs safety, and Shiji was cautious for good reason.
Luckily, the worst-case scenario didnโt come to pass.
"This marching route doesnโt suit an assault on Black Blood Valley, but... itโs very suitable for an attack on the Rotting Swamp, the Black Tooth Clan, and the Barbarian Bone Race..."
No need to elaborate on the Rotting Swampโthatโs where the Queen of Darkness Leannaโs dragon nest resides, while the Black Tooth Clan and Barbarian Bone Race are two monster follower clans under Leanna. Originally, Black Tooth Clan was Shijiโs former Kobold Tribe, while Barbarian Bone Race was the Forest Giant Demon Tribe.
No doubt, these Wild Dwarves are targeting Leanna with this march.
"They dare to provoke the Queen of Darkness..." Shiji was somewhat surprised.
This diversion plan was co-planned by him and Kadan, yet they simply aimed to focus the Wild Dwarvesโ attention on the Queen of Darkness, providing more time for themselves to grow strong.
They never imagined the Wild Dwarves would dare to invade the Queen of Darknessโs territory.
"A tribe that has been passed down for so long couldnโt possibly be brainless." Shiji mused.
Since the Wild Dwarves wouldnโt be heading to their death, they must have some backup. Even if they canโt defeat the Queen of Darkness, they surely have something to contend with her.
"Thankfully, it diverted the Wild Dwarvesโ attention, otherwise..." Although Shiji obtained much intelligence from the captured Wild Dwarf Warriors, they were all stubborn and straightforward, and the intel extracted through torture wasnโt very detailed or specific.
After compiling this intelligence, Shiji learned that their clanโs name is the Brown Forest Clan, and they have quite a few Sub-dragon Knights, Wild Dwarf high-level professionals, and casters. Moreover, it seems there are rumored master-level Wild Dwarf strongmen within the clan.
And this intelligence, Shiji had practically confirmed during the valley battle three days ago. But the most crucial intelโthe existence of a master-level Wild Dwarf professionalโremains uncertain.
Now, since the Brown Forest Clan dares to challenge the Queen of Darkness, there must be master-level Wild Dwarf strongmen.
"Could it be that black-robed Wild Dwarf caster riding a black tiger-panther demon?"
Shiji recalled the formidable aura of the Wild Dwarf caster he observed on the canyon battlefield, and his heart skipped a beat.
Due to the castersโ powerful spiritual force, Shiji didnโt dare scrutinize them too closely, fearing detection, thus only glanced quickly without looking further. Initially, he speculated the caster might be a formidable high-level mage. But now... itโs not impossible that they were an even stronger master-level mage.
"This information must be promptly reported to the master!" Upon realizing this, Shiji didnโt hesitate to summon his master through the spiritual connection established by the servant contract in his mind.
In non-urgent or special situations, Shiji would not disturb the master through spiritual connection.
For this reason, Udi always responded swiftly.
"I got it, you did well, Shiji."
Upon receiving his masterโs calm response, Shiji sighed in relief.
Waterfall Pool, Underwater Dragon Nest.
Udi slowly opened his eyes. Just moments ago, he was studying magic, but upon learning about the great possibility of a master-level caster among the Wild Dwarves, he lost interest.
"Master-level mage..." Udi muttered.
Such high-level professionalsโeven the most ordinary master-level mageโwere beyond his current ability to challenge.
After pondering for a long time, Udi finally made a decision.
With such a powerful enemy near his dragon nest, he couldnโt possibly be at ease!
As for relocation?
Moving to a completely new unfamiliar place may still face unknown dangers. Instead of that, itโs better to respond to the known danger.
After contemplating for a while, Udi formulated a plan.
He communicated his plan through spiritual connection to his four core Draconic minions: Shiji, Kadan, Mondo, and the White Feathered Owl-tailed Mother Crane.
Upon receiving their masterโs orders, the four core Draconic minions, regardless of what they were doing at that moment, immediately paused and began swift actions.
Udiโs plan was simple. He intended to seize this golden opportunity when the Wild Dwarvesโ strongmen and elite forces are confronting the Black Dragon Maidenโs influence, to raid their lair from beneath!
