This Giant Dragon is So Powerful!-Chapter 41 - 40: Half a Year
"Mage level breakthrough?" Udi’s eyes lit up.
In just three months, he had advanced from a Level 2 Mage to a Level 3 Mage, which was somewhat fast.
Fast to the point of being abnormal.
The caster profession is not like warrior or thief professions that easily enhance their strength and level at early stages.
Casters face difficulty right from the outset; for them to breakthrough Professional Levels, they must reach a standard threshold of Spiritual Power intensity.
However, boosting Spiritual Power is not as easy as enhancing the body; it requires a significant amount of time to incrementally improve, being a true grind.
Of course, you could use some unconventional quick methods to enhance Spiritual Power, but such methods often carry various hidden dangers.
Such as Undead Mages or witches, who can quickly enhance their Spiritual Power by refining and devouring souls, but their personalities often become twisted in the process until they are neither human nor ghost, even turning into mindless, evil, fallen creatures.
"Could it be that the Banquet’s enhancement not only boosts physical strength but also strengthens Spiritual Power?"
Udi couldn’t help but speculate.
He carefully recalled his mental state after the Banquet.... indeed it was good, but there was no clear sense of a sudden boost.
But....
"Even though my Spiritual Power didn’t directly enhance like my body after the Banquet, my Spiritual Power was quite active during the period after it.... even my speed of cultivating Spiritual Power increased significantly." Udi pondered.
Perhaps he understood.
A Banquet doesn’t directly boost Spiritual Power, just purely increases physical strength, but the body and mind are intrinsically linked, forming a whole.
A powerful body cannot possibly have a weak spirit.
A strong body reflects and enhances a relatively weaker soul, and the improvement of the soul naturally leads to the elevation of Spiritual Power.
Udi understood.
It’s no wonder he only realized it now; after all, before switching to a Mage, he was already accustomed to the enhancement the Banquet brought, naturally subconsciously ignoring the rapid increase in Spiritual Power.
"If so, won’t I be able to go deep down the path of a caster and even achieve great things?" Udi couldn’t help but grin.
The original reason he switched to a Mage, firstly, was that many Magic spells had the effect of enhancing the body, which obviously suited his Banquet Talent.
A perfect match.
The second reason was that some magic effects were indeed convenient and could save lives.
Such as the Teleportation Skill for quickly commuting or fleeing, or the Thousand Miles Sound Transmission Skill for long-distance communication and conversation.
Now, Udi had a third reason to study magic diligently.
He could rapidly enhance Spiritual Power!
"If that’s the case, I can reduce, or even eliminate, the time spent cultivating Spiritual Power, then dedicate all that time to studying and practicing Magic." Udi pondered.
To transform powerful Spiritual Power into actual strength, it still has to be realized through Magic; otherwise, possessing vast Spiritual Power would be a complete waste.
While Udi pondered over how to arrange his cultivation time in the future, Kadan also completed the transaction with the tribe members and Wit.
.....
"Master, these are all the items from this transaction."
Beside the water pool, Kadan respectfully handed the spatial bag to Udi.
Udi nodded slightly and then eagerly returned to the Dragon Nest.
With a mere thought, all items in the spatial bag were taken out.
Two small boxes in total.
Each contained a piece of magic beast hide emitting Magic Spiritual Light.
Namely -
[One-Ring Water Blade Skill]
[Second Ring·Water Element Enhancement Technique]
This was the result of a month’s time, obtained through a trade involving Demon Materials collected by the Black Blood Tribe and Green Forest Tribe.
"Not bad; now that I’m only a Level 3 Mage, the highest I can learn is a Second Ring Spell." Udi was fairly satisfied with this.
Zero Ring is Illusion, One-Ring and Second Ring are Lower-tier Magic, Third Ring, and Fourth Ring are Middle-tier Magic. Among them, Illusion and Lower-tier Magic correspond to zero to Level 4 Mages, Middle-tier Magic correspond to Level 5 to Level 9 Mages.
Now that Udi is only Level 3 as a Mage, he’s a fair distance from Level 5.
Even with the Banquet’s enhancement of his body reflecting upon his spirit, it’s unlikely to be something he can surpass in just a few months.
"Start studying!" Udi took a deep breath, focused his Spiritual Power, and began to research these two Water Element Magic spells.
One-Ring Water Blade is an attack magic; its effect is to expend Magic Power to condense a water blade, the attack power is only so-so; when compared with Fire Magic, it’s definitely weaker. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
But for a Black Dragon, which is a Water Element True Dragon, to learn Water Magic, the power is definitely augmented.
Second Ring Water Element Enhancement Technique is a Water Element Support Magic, its effect is to enhance physical strength for oneself or others and can mitigate physical impact force.
This magic suits Udi very well.
"Master this magic to the Master Level!" Udi set this goal for himself.
In this way, in the following days, Udi absorbed Magic Power daily, studied Magic, and occasionally spent a little time cultivating Spiritual Power.
When the Banquet cooldown time ended each month, he feasted until progress was full and then fell into sleep for enhancement.
In stable development, a month, two months.... in a blink of an eye, half a year passed.
.....
Dark Forest.
Roar!
Kill! Kill!
Everywhere was filled with cries and roars of battle.
A large number of Kobold and Goblin Warriors, whose physiques were no less than normal humans, roared as they battled with a group of dwarves just over a meter tall.
These dwarves had brown-white skin, wore leather armor, wielded hand axes, with several spare hand axes hanging at their waists, each having solid builds and explosively frightening muscle bulk.
Though they were shorter than the Kobolds and Goblin Warriors in stature, they surpassed them in momentum and strength.
One dwarf cast his heavy hand axe, turning it into a silvery-white lightning bolt that struck a Dogman Warrior, the sheer speed and strength directly sent the Dogman Warrior flying several meters, and the hand axe embedded deeply into the vine armor, from which blood continuously flowed through the ruptures.
"Slay these vile and despicable creatures!"
A dwarf mounted on a giant Triangular Dragon Beast thunderously roared out.
He pulled hard on the reins, causing the Triangular Dragon beneath him to see red in its eyes, charging into the enemy crowd like a heavyweight tank.
A large number of Kobolds and Goblin Warriors were knocked into the air, spewing blood, as a passage was forcibly carved through.
Fallen to the ground, they were then mercilessly beheaded by the grim-faced following dwarf warriors wielding hand axes.
Blood and gore smeared this forest in a chaotic mess.
