This Game Is Too Realistic-Chapter 494.2: Perfect! We Got Enough People To Play Mahjong!
Silver's Father cleared his throat theatrically. “Rumor has it that those nobles stuffed over a dozen young women into his room.”
Silver Hand’s eyes widened. “Damn?! He can handle that many?”
On the other side, Silver Sword looked utterly jealous. He didn’t say anything, but the envy was written all over his face.
Damn it.
This damned dev just keeps giving all the perks to NPCs!
At least let us take a peek...
Guessing what his good brother was thinking, Silver's Father shot him a glare. “What are you thinking? You think our administrator is that kind of guy? He kicked them all out! Why else would he be so pissed?”
Both Silver Sword and Silver Hand looked disappointed, especially the latter.
After a long pause, he muttered, “Maybe he’s... got something to hide?”
Silver's Father chuckled. “Doubt it. He’s a LV30 all rounded legend. No way he’s got a performance issue. He’s probably just pissed at how over the line those nobles went.”
Silver Sword blinked. “Over the line how?”
Silver Hand looked confused. “Were the women too ugly? Or did they send in men too?”
Silver's Father shook his head slowly. “Not that. It’s just... The dozen girls they sent in combined won’t be as old as your grandpa.”
“Pfft!” Silver Hand spat out his wine, dropping his glass.
Silver Sword’s eyes nearly popped out of his head. “What the fuck?! That’s messed up!”
Silver's Father let out a long sigh, taking a dainty sip of wine so sour it tasted like vinegar. He traced an exaggerated arc in the air with his glass.
“Yeah... If they were as mature as Yaya, maybe the administrator would’ve turned a blind eye. But they weren’t even as old as Tengteng.”
Nearby, Quit Smoking, who had been eavesdropping the entire time, finally burst into laughter. “Pfft, hahaha!”
Including him, the four of them laughed so hard they collapsed onto the table. Both strength type brutes went down first.
The rest of the players didn’t think much of it, they were used to folks passing out and disconnecting that way. However, the nearby waiter went pale, terrified the wine he served was poisoned.
“... Weird.” Silver's Father stared at the slumped Silver Hand and Silver Sword. “These two idiots usually hold their liquor fine.”
It wasn’t even strong!
Thankfully, he’d wisely chosen a constitution type back then, or he might’ve... The next second, his eyes rolled up and he, too, slammed into the table.
Quit Smoking’s face twitched. He quickly set his wine down, but it was too late. The bug got him too.
“Damn! You guys drink too much, how the hell are constitution types passing out?”
Totally unaware, Night Ten waddled over grinning and took a selfie with their slumped bodies. Just as he was about to log off to post and roast them online, a fat noble waddled over.
“Dear sir... I finally found you!” The man was sweating profusely, forcing a smile.
Night Ten had no idea who he was. “Is something wrong?”
“My name is... Baron Braham, granted title by His Majesty.”
Before Night Ten could ask more, the baron dragged a noblewoman forward and said earnestly, “This is my daughter Cecily. Thank you for rescuing her the other night.”
Winning over the administrator was probably hopeless now.
The baron had seen it all clearly in the plaza. Those once lofty nobles were all green-eyed over that man.
But that didn’t mean he had no ambition. Upon hearing of his daughter’s incident that night, he quickly shifted his hopes to one of the administrator’s subordinates.
Night Ten stared dumbly at the fat baron and the shy young woman next to him, not recognizing her at all as the same lady from the night before.
“... You’re welcome?”
“This isn’t just about gratitude,” Braham said solemnly. “You saved her chaste, perhaps even her life!”
As the noblewoman gave him a thankful nod, Night Ten scratched the back of his head awkwardly. “No... we really didn’t do anything. She knocked the guy out herself and escaped.”
If anything, she should thank Old White for that half a curtain he gave her.
But the baron didn’t seem to hear a word. He just kept talking. “Since that night, my daughter has been thinking of you constantly. She begged me to let her see you again.”
“Wait, what?”
“I see in you a man of great character. Please, take her with you!”
Night Ten was completely dumbfounded.
“Wait, your daughter is in the castle... Is she the king’s concubine or...?”
Baron Braham gave an awkward smile and said, “Well... she was one of His Majesty’s concubines, but according to the administrator’s orders, the king has already issued a decree to downsize the harem and cut the budget. Other than those who gave birth to an heir, the other concubines have been sent out of the palace.”
After he spoke, he seemed to have thought of something and he quickly revealed a crafty smile as he whispered in Night Ten’s ears, “The king is old and he can’t do it anymore... Let me tell you a secret, but you must not spread it. My daughter was brought to the palace last year and she was supposed to become McClennan’s... Ahem. I can promise you, she hasn’t been touched...”
Cecily, who was standing at the side, quickly looked away as her face flushed red. “Father... Please don’t say any more...”
Also, the rather handsome young man who Baron Braham was targeting felt his face growing hotter. It looked liked tomato as he glanced at Cecily.
Clearly, she was wearing a long elegant dress, but her collar was wide open. Her skin was pale and she had a head full of pretty curled hair.
If he took a closer look...
Hmmm... She was something alright.
Especially since she had a mature charm. She had a certain level of ability to slay a young man like Night Ten who hadn’t seen much of the world.
Seeing the youngster take the bait, Baron Braham felt a surge of joy as he continued to push, “I heard that you guys have a huge plot of land in the Lion Kingdom... Can you bring us over to take a look? Moreover, I went out with caravans to travel south in the past and I’m pretty good at managing wealth. If you don’t find it an inconvenience, you can let me handle all your money problems. I am willing to be your servant!”
“Huh?”
Before Night Ten could continue, the fat man continued, “If you’re willing, you can hold the wedding ceremony right now!”
“Huh?! Isn’t this a little too quick?” Night Ten yelped in shock.
He had to admit... He was tempted when he saw her. But if he had to touch his heart and admit it, all he did was come up with a few strange scenarios in his head. He never planned on marrying an NPC.
But the baron wouldn’t give up so easily. Seeing his chance about to fly away, he grew anxious, practically wishing he could shove his daughter’s hand over. “How is it too soon?!”
“But we don’t even know each other, ” Night Ten replied with an exasperated laugh, though his words didn’t sound like a refusal to the other party.
Certain he had the kid pinned, Baron Braham pressed on relentlessly. “No worries! You’ll have all the time in the world to get to know each other after the wedding!”
Night Ten stared blankly at the guy trying to sell off his daughter, completely stunned. What shocked him even more was that the lady, Cecily, didn’t seem to mind her father’s forceful matchmaking. In fact, when their eyes met by chance, a shy blush crept across her face.
He wasn’t sure if it was genuine or just for show.
Anyway.. Just as Night Ten was at a complete loss, Old White walked over and stepped in to save him. “Listen, I don’t care what you’re up to. Stay away from my guy, or I’ll throw you out of here myself. Do you think your king will speak up for you?” Old White snapped coldly, staring at the fat baron with no hint of humor.
“Y-Yes sir, I overstepped,” the baron stammered, backing off in a cold sweat while cursing his bad luck.
That was an experienced old monster. He was no Night Ten. The fat baron’s gut told him this man wasn’t easy to deal with, nor easily fooled.
Not daring to linger any longer, Baron Braham quickly apologized and hurried off with his daughter in tow.
Night Ten let out a sigh of relief. He couldn’t tell if he felt more relieved or regretful, but it was definitely more of the former.
Looking at Night Ten’s stupid face, Old White couldn’t help but tease him. “Don’t blame your brother here for ruining your good luck. You don’t actually have an estate in the Lion Kingdom, and feeding her whole family won’t be easy.”
Night Ten immediately looked annoyed. “Come on, who are you looking down on? I can just buy one, can’t I?”
Old White grinned and pointed behind them. “My bad for jumping the gun. Should I go back and put in a good word for you?”
Night Ten glanced that way, then shrank his neck. “Forget it...”
That was definitely a moment of weakness.
Thinking it through calmly, if he really did marry her, wouldn’t he just get devoured alive?
Hold up!
How could he even think of getting married so foolishly?! And to a stranger whose name he had just learned?! He was a young man full of promise, personally chosen by the helmet. In any game, manga, movie, anime, or web novel, he would be the main character for sure.
Even if he didn’t go full main character mode and build a massive harem, at least he should have a couple of sweet romances first...
At that moment, Gale suddenly spoke up after staying quiet for a while. “Actually, speaking of estates... We really can buy a few when we get back to the Lion Kingdom.”
“True.” Old White stroked his chin. “That dog Ample Time did say we shouldn’t just rush the main quest. All the good stuff’s on the side quests.”
All this time, food for Clearspring City came mostly from southern traveling merchants. But the southern trade route wasn’t easy to traverse.
